What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this as an effective, gentle exfoliating cleanser that works well for breakout-prone areas without the typical drying effect of salicylic acid products. The triple-acid blend (BHA, AHA, and PHA) is highlighted as the key strength, offering both deep pore cleansing and surface smoothing. Cetaphil's reputation for sensitivity-tested formulas adds credibility. One reviewer noted it may be too strong for very sensitive facial skin but excellent for body breakouts; the creamy, fragrance-free base with anti-inflammatory white tea is consistently mentioned as a standout feature.

"I do use this actually more for my body. It's a little bit too much for my very sensitive face skin, but I do get breakouts often on my chest, my back, and sometimes the tops of my arms. And this works pretty well to keep the skin clear. This definitely helped to keep the breakouts at bay. And when I emptied this, which was a while ago, my skin started to get a bit congested again, unfortunately. So this definitely works. And because this combination of exfoliants worked so well to keep my skin clear, I'm going to be rating this a nine out of ten."

November Faves | Cetaphil, Kitsch, Sleep & Glow
"This is very effective for keeping those areas clean and clear for me. I think it's the triple exfoliation here. We have salicylic acid, and that's the exfoliant you want to go towards if you're experiencing pimples or breakouts because that's the exfoliation that goes deeper into the pore lining to exfoliate deep within your skin, and that's where the acne is forming. I really do like the addition of the AHA with mandalic acid as well as PHA. PHA is an ingredient that is very similar to AHA and they work the same way, which is to exfoliate on the top of the skin. So BHA goes inside, AHA goes on top, and PHA does that just like mandalic acid but it is a little bit more gentle than mandalic, so it's nice that it's here to boost up the AHA without being too harsh on the skin. It helps to smooth out any bumpy rough texture, helps to refine the pores, helps to brighten the skin over time, and helps to smooth up the skin too. It helps if you're constantly using it, so every time I'm showering I'm putting this on my problem areas."

"This is a Cetaphil Gentle Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Cleanser, brand new, started to use it, very nice. So you have a nice blend of gentle exfoliants you have mandelic acid, you have the polyhydroxy acid and the salicylic acid all working together to help retexture and smooth out the skin and clean out your pores. So this is really nice. And Cetaphil is just great, you know, for sensitive skin. They've been around for a long time, tried and true brand that works really well, and they do extra testing making sure that it is good for sensitive skin."

"This is a really good salicylic acid cleanser from Cetaphil if you want to try salicylic acid but you've always found that it's like too drying or maybe you have really sensitive skin, because it's like a really nice creamy formula it's not drying at all. It's free of fragrance and it has compounds from white tea which are anti-inflammatory."
