"A truly effective option is from [Cetaphil], their Cracked Skin Repair Lotion. [...] One of the things that makes this so effective is that it contains 10 percent urea. Urea is [...] one of my favorite humectants, but at such a high concentration it is particularly good for dry itchy skin. Once you hit above the 10 percent concentration mark, that's when it starts to have a slight exfoliating effect as well, but it's not a harsh exfoliating effect, it's quite a gentle one."

"Urea is a favorite ingredient of mine. This has dimethicone in it, which is a skin protectant. The urea is going to be helpful for improving the health of the moisture barrier. It's a humectant and a natural moisturizing factor. This also has lactic acid in it, which is an alpha hydroxy acid that can help improve the moisture barrier and help exfoliate dry, rough skin cells. This is going to be a good one if you have keratosis pilaris."
