SA Cream for Rough and Bumpy Skin.

"This is a very good product, everybody, for not a lot of money. An SA cream is [...] a salicylic acid cream. It's made for rough and bumpy skin. Imagine what it does for smooth skin, right? It's an exfoliant. So I'll use it on those places where I've got keratosis polaris or I've got like little imperfections. I always put this on [...] first because I want to get rid of the senescent cells, those zombie cells, to clear the way so they're not taking up the precious resources of the other skin care that I'm going to put on top. This [...] doesn't really follow those same rules of layering skin care like you're dressing for the snow, like the lighter layers first. [...] It's a combination of like a cream and a serum and it just kind of disappears and blends into your skin."

"Just any time you see alcohol as a solvent in the top sort of 10 ingredients in a product list, I would run away in the opposite direction. The damage actually continues even after you've worn it, even after you've washed it off. The damage doesn't end when you put alcohol on the skin. It really does damage your skin barrier. So it's a shame. I would avoid it. They could have very easily sidestepped it and used glycol instead."

"I love love love the CeraVe SA Cream for Rough and Bumpy Skin. I do particularly like the cream over the lotion. It does a really good job at exfoliating and hydrating at the same time without irritating the sensitive KP skin. Salicylic acid helps unclog follicles, reducing bumpy texture. This cream is completely fragrance-free and non-irritating, which makes it really good for sensitive skin. The key ingredient is the salicylic acid, but it also contains a little bit of lactic acid and of course the ceramides. If you don't like the consistency, the thickness, or the jar of the SA cream, it also comes in the SA lotion, which is a more lightweight alternative compared to the SA cream and a little bit easier to spread, especially if you're going to use it on large body surface areas like your whole arms and legs."

"The next moisturizer is from CeraVe, it's their daily smoothing moisturizer for rough bumpy skin that retails for 21 bucks. This is a little different from all the ones I've recommended so far because it's definitely a bigger bottle that comes in a pump and it's really meant to be used for face and body. I'm recommending this one because of the ingredient in here which is 20% urea. To be honest with you, urea is a great ingredient and it's an underrated ingredient. Actually on a regular basis in clinic I prescribe urea to my patients all the time for dry rough bumpy skin, for keratosis pilaris, and especially helpful for like thickened cracked feet. It's one of those ingredients that works really well at hydrating the skin, which is what urea does, and gently exfoliating the skin without that burning and stinging sensation that alpha hydroxy acids can impart. So this is just a great alternative. It's great to use on kids and adults and especially helpful for kids that may struggle with keratosis pilaris on the face who often find an alpha hydroxy acid moisturizer to sting or to be really uncomfortable to use. This would be a great alternative. Texture wise, it's like a lightweight cream that absorbs really quickly, spreads really easily, it's lightweight, hydrating, moisturizing."

"The salicylic acid cream from CeraVe, the SA Cream for Rough and Bumpy Skin, [...] these are good for keratosis pilaris or if you want something more lightweight in consistency the lotion option is good. [...] Not only does the salicylic acid help to soften that rough bumpy stuff but then the formula overall helps to address the needs of the skin barrier as it relates to having dry skin. It has niacinamide, ceramides, and it also has lactic acid which is likewise going to be helpful for softening and hydrating."

"One moisturizer I really like for dry feet is the CeraVe SA Cream. This has salicylic acid which is a beta hydroxy acid and an exfoliant, and it also has lactic acid which is an alpha hydroxy acid which helps with exfoliation but also helps with hydration because lactic acid is a humectant. If you have deep cracks in your heels, I don't think this is going to repair your heel, but this is great for maintaining your heels or your feet once you've done the corrective work."

"If you're looking for something even stronger that deals particularly with rough texture and bumpy skin and your skin is sensitive, then I would recommend this again from CeraVe, the rough and bumpy daily smoothing moisturizer. This contains 20 percent urea, so it has even more of a smoothing and exfoliating effect without being very irritating, although I would caution anyone to patch test first because you just never know with anything that can be very concentrated. This is an intense humectant, it's hydrating but particularly good for you if you're dealing with very dry cracked skin. This is great for your feet, for cracked heels, but anywhere on your body where you just feel the texture is very thick, very rough or bumpy, fabulous for KP during the winter time, especially when you don't want to use any harsh acidic scrubs or treatments. The texture of this is relatively light though, still moisturizing, but I do love the soothing gel-ness of it when you first apply it, feels really nice. It does dry down quickly which is great as well."

"I really like the one from CeraVe, which is their 20% rough and bumpy. What I like about it is that in order to get that exfoliating benefit of urea it needs to be 10% or greater. Now if it's less than 5% it still has incredibly hydrating properties for the skin but you're not really going to get as much of an exfoliating benefit. And so what I like about the urea from CeraVe is that you have it at 20%."
