What the gurus are saying

Gurus overwhelmingly praise this product for its ceramide content, lack of fragrance and chemical actives, and effectiveness on dry and acne-prone skin. The formula is noted as non-comedogenic and suitable for barrier repair. One concern raised is the tub packaging, which may compromise ceramide stability over time. A minority experience stinging or burning, which experts attribute to compromised skin barriers rather than product fault.

"In the morning, use a CeraVe Moisturizing Cream on the inner thighs and bikini line after showering. It's under $12, available at Target and CVS. The ceramides rebuild the skin barrier. This directly reduces how much friction inflammation reaches your melanocytes. This step is not optional. In the evening... seal it all in with your CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, so it allows actives to absorb into the skin."

"This is why I love CeraVe if you have dry acne prone skin. Ceramides are the mortar between the bricks. Without them, the skin wall crumbles. Ceramide rich moisturizers can actually reduce acne and pigmentation by restoring barrier function."

BEST & WORST Moisturisers For Oily Acne Skin
"The last product and my favorite is CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. Actually just the original CeraVe, not even the one that's got oily skin, I don't actually like that product. The original CeraVe Moisturizing Cream formulation is fantastic for oily acne-prone skin for a number of reasons. It's got glycerin, petrolatum, dimethicone, these are the emollients, the humectants. It's also got ceramides in it, which is very good for skin hydration and also skin repair. Don't forget we're going through this inflammatory process, we need to be constantly repairing the skin at the same time. And the reason it's my favorite is because there's no chemical sunscreen in it. It's also got no fragrance and no actives. I love that you can apply your CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and then apply your physical sunscreen on top, so you're literally getting the best of both."
Best & Worst Moisturisers For Dry Skin
"They've got glycerin, they've got dimethicone, and they've got ceramides. I'm pretty sure CeraVe must have bought ceramides by the ton, which is one of the best ingredients, and I love putting ceramides in my products as well when I manufacture for my clinic. The positives: there's no alcohol, no fragrance, it's non-comedogenic. I would definitely say go out and purchase this product. The only tiny little potential downside might be the packaging, because ceramide is actually quite hard to stabilize and often it's better to put it in a pump form in order to prevent oxygen exposure. In this it comes as a tub, so unless they've come up with a different stability solution, it is a tough one to stabilize."
HYPERPIGMENTATION LAYERING
"If you feel like your skin is too dry for this particular moisturizer, I recommend you go for one with ceramides in it. The skin of color we have less ceramides in our skin already and so it's something that our skin craves. I really like CeraVe."
ACNE FACE MAPPING
"If you feel like this is quite not enough and you want more hydration you can always pop on a fragrance-free moisturizer on top like CeraVe. These are all very hydrating moisturizers."
HOW TO REPAIR A DAMAGED SKIN BARRIER
"I really like CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. They've put in glycerin and ceramides, and it's quite fatty, which is a trick actually, if your moisturizer can sit upside down it means that it has a high fat content. It gives you a nice hydrated luxury thick feeling on the skin, which is what you really want when your skin feels sore and dry. Your skin will drink it up."
GLASS SKIN FOR SKIN OF COLOUR
"It contains niacinamide so it works well for oily acne prone skin. Now for skin of color we have less ceramides in our skin than Caucasian skin and so actually we need to replace them. That's why I do love CeraVe."

"CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is still one of my all-time favorite moisturizers, whether that's the moisturizing cream in the jar or the moisturizing lotion in the pump. But there are definitely patients who come in and say CeraVe burns my face. When you have a compromised skin barrier, you're going to feel different sensations: irritation, redness, tightness, even burning and stinging, especially with gentle moisturizers like CeraVe. There could be other factors happening, like eczema or atopic dermatitis, or seborrheic dermatitis where a yeast overgrowth called Malassezia causes flakiness around your eyebrows, nose, chin, and facial hair area. People start thinking they have sensitive skin or are allergic to everything when CeraVe burns their skin, but really the skin is just inflamed and we need to repair the skin barrier. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream does have ceramides to help repair the skin barrier, but sometimes it will still burn even my face."

"Ceramides are part of the glue that holds our skin cells together. When you have a deficiency of ceramides, your skin cells are not intact, there's a compromised skin barrier, and bad things like allergens, irritants, and microbes can penetrate into the skin while good things like hydration can leave. Classically, you'll find ceramides in CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, which has MVE technology. It helps repair the skin barrier with three essential ceramides, and with the MVE technology you're also hydrating the skin. You can find that as their moisturizing cream and moisturizing lotion."

"I've always had really dry skin and I'm definitely big on the moisturizer. This is still the moisturizer I use on face and body multiple times a day. This is my baby. I love this thing. It's very affordable and it works really well. I cannot praise this more. The hyaluronic acid, the affordability, accessibility, you can run to Target, you can get it on Amazon, and a little goes a long way. It lasts you a long time. This will last me a few months and it's less than $15."

Amazon Basics vs CeraVe Moisturizing Cream: Same Ingredients… Same Results? (Dermatologist Explains)
"CeraVe has always checked off those boxes for me with hydration and moisturizing occlusive features. I'm very familiar with this texture. I have patients who are covered with eczema, atopic dermatitis, and I'll prescribe a steroid liquid and have them mix it into this 16 oz jar, mix it all up, and apply it as a moisturizing prescription medication. It's very thick and occlusive. It takes a little bit more rubbing and elbow grease to get this in, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's actually that occlusive component that I really appreciate, especially for my patients who need to have a good reenactment of the skin barrier. You want to replicate an extra skin barrier to seal in hydration, but also maybe prescription medications. I don't always prescribe topical steroids for atopic dermatitis or eczema. There are other creams. There's topical calcineurin inhibitors. There's JAK inhibitors we can prescribe. And you want a good cream to seal that in and mimic another layer of skin. I don't actually mind the thicker texture of this."

Dermatologist Compares: CeraVe AM vs PM Moisturizing Lotions- How to Add to your Skincare Routine
"CeraVe is a very popular brand they make very gentle products for my patients with sensitive skin or patients who are on very strong topical medications that are causing some irritation or dryness. CeraVe is a very affordable brand so you can get them for 15 to 30 dollars for these products. The moisturizing cream comes in a jar and you can get it at Costco in a two-for-one, and there's also the moisturizing lotion which is in the pump which is very popular for people who don't want to deal with a jar. The lotion is a little bit more lightweight great for the summer when you're sweaty and then the jar is good for winter."

"CeraVe has ceramides that help fill in those holes in your skin barrier so it helps restore that skin barrier so that you can hold on the moisture better. It has hyaluronic acid as well so you got the skin barrier component that's being repaired plus you have the hydration from the hyaluronic acid. It's pretty thick but very nice for patients including children and infant patients who need a good moisturizer."

"My favorite moisturizers to slap on would be CeraVe's moisturizing cream. Consider thicker textured moisturizers in the winter time or in the colder weather. Go from lotions that are in a pump like CeraVe. They have lotions that are great in a pump, but you might want to switch over to the cream in the tub in the winter time because that will be better at being occlusive and having a nice film over the top to lock in that hydration."
Dermatologist Reviews: Target Skincare Routine for Teenagers
"Apply a nice layer of moisturizing cream from CeraVe. This is a body moisturizer but you can also use it for the face if it's the summer time and you want something a little bit more lightweight or if you have oily skin you definitely want to go with a lighter weight option. It's very nice for those with dry skin, eczema, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis. The consistency is great and I love that it comes in a jar and lasts forever, a little goes a long way."

"This is a product I also used when I damaged my skin in 2018, and it did help me heal. I really stand by it. It has occlusive ingredients that help protect your skin and hold in the hydration, which is incredibly essential if your skin barrier is weak, because that's what your skin barrier naturally does for you -- when it's weak or damaged, it can't protect your skin and it can't hold in the hydration. It can be expensive up front, but you're getting so much moisturizer, so much value for that price."

Sitting Down With My Skincare Empties (Honest Thoughts)
"CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is another one I feel like I could use all year round. It has a medium texture but it's not greasy. It is very occlusive, though, and I really like that for fighting off dehydration. I've been using this since 2018. I hate the pump container. There's always cream left when the pump stops being reliable. I prefer the tube. The squeeze tube is actually a lot better for face application."
Empty Skincare and What I Replaced Them With! | Spring 2026
"I love this moisturizer. I've loved it since about 2018. It's a really good one for winter for my skin. What I really like about it is how occlusive it is. That's what really sets it apart from a lot of other products for me. The occlusive ingredients really help to fight dehydration, which is really the main issue I face in winter. There's just something about how occlusive it is that is so good for the majority of winter. Sometimes I do need something a little bit thicker when it gets really, really bad, and I might mix something in to bulk it up and get some more occlusivity. But generally speaking, this works really well for me in winter, and most of the year as well. There's just something about this texture, medium weight, moisturizes, but it's not oily, greasy, or heavy, that does so well for me. I prefer to buy this in the squeeze tube if I can, because toward the end of the tub with the pump it just gets kind of annoying."
5 Star Skincare Empties! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"It's very rich, it's moisturizing, it's barrier restorative. I knocked a star off of it because it's pretty pricey for what it is and the amount that you get, and it's not my year-round moisturizer. I've only been gravitating towards it in cold weather. I've been using this for many many years. The reason I love this so much is I can seem to use this in any type of weather. Whenever my skin needs barrier repair, no matter the weather, this seems to work for me. It is meant to soothe irritation, but it also has a good amount of dimethicone, which is a great occlusive agent, and there's some petrolatum in here that also helps to tuck it into your skincare. I can mix it with other products to make it a much thicker, heftier type of cream, way more occlusive, and this actually worked for me towards the end of winter when my skin was the driest."
Sick Skincare Go To's
"I love CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, it's straightforward, it gets to the point. It treats my skin really well. There's some ingredients in here that help to promote healing of the skin, and because the skin around my nose and my upper lip can get quite irritated from blowing my nose all the time, the soothing qualities and the healing qualities of this cream just help to keep my skin in good shape as it's going through a rougher period and it's a bit more vulnerable. The 1% of dimethicone in this cream amps up the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, it makes it a little bit more protective. It does create a slightly more rich, a slightly thicker, luxurious cream texture."
One-Handed Skincare?! | Routine After Spraining My Wrist
"I love this moisturizer. This is what I've been using morning and night time. I don't change products. This is a pretty good year round moisturizer for me, but as I mentioned it's getting cooler, we're into sweater weather, and the cooler nights do mean that I wake up with a little bit more dry, dehydrated skin. On its own it's not moisturizing enough for me for those times, but I'm getting all that beautiful medium weight creaminess of CeraVe, all of the ceramides, right, the cholesterol, the fatty acids, the hyaluronic acid, all that stuff that makes my skin feel good."

"The moisturizer has gotten a little bit more rich through the reformulation that I mentioned a few years ago. It definitely is more moisturizing, it's got a little bit more heft on the skin, but I still find it very moisturizing, very skin protective, but still silky and just really a beautiful moisturizer all around. I've been using this right around the same time as another product in about 2018, 2019 era and I really do love it. I find myself being able to use CeraVe year round in any season."

"I've been using this CeraVe Moisturizing Cream mixed in with a pea-size amount of the L'Oréal Posay Cicaplast Balm for the colder nights and it's really been really lovely and it will also help me with my redness that I have going on. When you mix it in with the Cicaplast it gets so fluffy, it gets so lovely and rich and moisturizing and protective. It's like you're making your own sleeping mask."
My 2025 Winter Approved Moisturizers Picks!
"This is really one of my like key core moisturizers that I go back to all the time in most seasons, but this is definitely a cold weather staple for me for sure. And this is all about the barrier, baby. So, they're using three different forms of ceramides in here as well as cholesterol. And they're also using phytosfingosine. Now, this is an ingredient you will find in a lot of moisturizers or barrier supported products. It is actually a precursor to ceramides and it does provide some crucial lipid content that helps to keep our skin not only nourished and moisturized but helps to strengthen up that skin barrier as well. And I think that really the beautiful thing about this moisturizer is the oclusives in here. They're using petrolatum as well as dimethicone. And these are really the two if you're serious about finding some occlusive quality in your moisturizer, look for these ingredients: petrolatum, dimethicone. These create a really beautiful occlusive quality to moisturizers that helps to hold all the hydration in place."
Fall PM Retinal Skincare Routine + Why I Stopped Tretinoin
"I'm still using CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I have so many tubes of this it's ridiculous. I'm using a squirt of the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and then mixing it with another product, and it makes the CeraVe a little bit thicker, more occlusive, and a little bit fluffier and a little bit more luxurious too, and it feels amazing. I've been really relying on centella and CeraVe products especially to kind of help calm down irritation and take down the redness."
Winter Skin Barrier Reset Routine | Hydrate, Soothe, Strengthen and Protect!
"This is the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. This is another long time favorite for my skin barrier. I actually also started using this in 2018. This was a moisturizer that really helped to make a difference for me. We do have ceramide content in here. This is all about strengthening the skin barrier. What's particularly special about this moisturizer that I think really works for me in this type of weather and environment where it's really cold, it's very dry and harsh is the petrolatum as well as the dimethicone content in here. These are two amazing occlusive ingredients. Petrolatum and dimethicone are occlusives. They are film forming agents in skincare. They help to lock in your skincare. They help to create a temporary barrier truly on the skin that helps to lock in, seal in whatever word you like all of your skincare. And because it is a bit of a temporary barrier, occluding, stopping it means that it's going to help keep hydration in your skin longer. It's going to help resist the dehydration. If your barrier is weak, you're more prone to dehydration. These types of ingredients really help to set everything in place. It's best for folks with dry skin because it's very good for replenishing the oil in skin and it is a little bit thicker. Not the best for folks who suffer with acne. It can sometimes exacerbate acne in individuals who are more prone to it."
7 Winter Skincare Essentials | Fight Dryness and Dehydration in the Cold!
"My main squeeze moisturizer, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. Love, love, love that. It just wasn't quite enough on its own when my skin was really dry and irritated, but when I mixed it with other products, the CeraVe transformed into this luxurious, fluffy, dense cream that already is quite occlusive, and it upped the olusivity even more, which I needed something really protected that was going to last with me. It's a beautiful moisturizer, especially if the moisturizer you have right now is just not quite enough. A little bit of this mixed in, all of a sudden, it's the perfect amount. It's the perfect everything. It's enough. I sometimes will put a thin layer of this on top of a moisturizer to act like a sleeping mask, which creates a little bit of a thicker feeling on my skin."
Melt the Day Away | Calming Skincare Routine

PM Routine w/ Tret | What Well-Aging Means to Me
"I'm just going to use a little bit of the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I'm going to put some on my eyes, around my nose, and then a little bit on my chin. I like to put a little moisturizer here before I apply my tretinoin just to make sure that those areas are moisturized. The area around my nose tends to get really dry and then my chin for whatever reason is like the driest area on my face, so I just like to give another extra layer of moisture before I apply my tretinoin cream. When I mix it with other products I get all of that nourishing goodness and comfort but without a lot of thickness or greasiness on my skin."

"I love CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I've used so many bottles, more bottles are in my future. How many tubes and tubs of this have I emptied since 2018? Who knows, many many, and there will be many more in my future. This has never been out of my skincare routine. I tried to not buy it, I tried to use something else in its place, and I was like I'm irresponsible, I'm going to save money, I don't need to buy it right now. Yeah no, it only lasted about three days and I put my order in."

"This is occlusive, fights dehydration, great for skin that leans a little bit more dry. You don't have to have dry skin. You could be like me, combo dry, or fighting off that air conditioning dehydration that you get in the summertime. This really helps to protect the skin, keep the skin barrier strong. Ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids, it leaves your skin so silky and soft. It feels amazing. I'm just going to use CeraVe Moisturizing Cream to moisturize my neck and chest. I put that retinol on there and I just want to seal that in."

"It's really really buttery and kind of thick, maybe a little heavy. That's what I want. Sometimes heavy is like a dirty word when it comes to describing moisturizer textures, but for me right now, oh this is heaven, this feels so good. It's definitely richer than CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, which is another staple of mine. It just has this beautiful, silky, creamy richness and butteriness. It just melts into my skin but it feels really nourishing and comforting."
11/10 ⭐ Skincare Empties I Recommend!
"I have 11 out of 10 I recommend empties CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I know it's so boring but honestly my skin just loves it, it just always works. I've been using this since 2018. It's just that good. I've been using it for such a long time, such a staple for me, especially in this season now. I love CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's pretty much in all my empties videos because I do like this for face but I love this as a body moisturizer. I always call it a head to toe cream because this works so well. It's also more affordable than other options. I've been using this for a really long time and I mix a pea size amount of a balm into my CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and this really makes the cream more luxurious, thicker, more protective. It adds a little bit more occlusivity because there's dimethicone in here, a little bit more soothing, and it almost creates your own slugging or like sleeping pack."
5 Essential Tips for Cold Weather Skincare
"I love the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, but during the worst months of winter it wasn't quite enough with all of that going on. One of the ingredients in here is madecassoside, one of the biologically active compounds of the centella plant, so it actually soothes redness and inflammation and sensitivity. It really calmed my skin down in that sense. And it features a good amount of dimethicone, which brings occlusion and creates a temporary seal, a healing ointment basically on the skin that helps all of my toner, essence, serum, oil, cream all of that really hug into my skin. It helps to resist dehydration, which is the loss of hydration through the skin, especially happens a lot when you're sleeping, so it helps to keep everything in."
THIS is What I Do Weekly for Bright & Glowy Skin!
"I'm finishing off with one of my favorite moisturizers, the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It is a really nice medium weight cream and it is really great for your skin barrier too. It's got ceramide, cholesterol, fatty acids, and what I really like about this is the petrolatum that's in it. It's a really great occlusive ingredient so it just helps to hug in all of this moisture and hydration that I've layered onto my skin. This just helps to seal it all in and will fight dehydration while I'm sleeping too."
Only 5 Products? Skincare I'm Taking to a Deserted Island
"It's really about what's inside of the jar that counts. This cream just suits my skin so well. It has ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids, which are really important for my skin to keep that healthy skin barrier. I also like that this has glycerin and hyaluronic acid in it. I love that it brings that element of hydration and moisture, and I really feel like this delivers a nice amount of both. But then it also has a nice occlusivity to it, which is really important. It really just helps hug everything into my skin and it really fights transepidermal water loss for me. Something I also really like about this cream is it has a neutral finish to it, so every time I put it on it has this smoothing kind of effect, this neutralizing effect to my skin."
How K-Beauty has Changed in 13 Years | Chatty AM Skincare
"Topping everything off with the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, that feels so good. I was mixing in a heavier cream during the winter and I have been backing off of that. I always like to leave it open for my nighttime routine because it's a very nice restorative period of time. Sometimes a little bit more demand for moisture makes sense, but it's really starting to warm up and get a lot more mild, so I'm kind of backing off of those heavier layers."
My Most Repurchased Skincare | 2024 Edition
"I still really do love this CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and I've been buying and loving this one since 2018. This is a cream that I can use year round. It's got the perfect texture, the perfect amount of moisture, the perfect amount of comfort and nourishment and protection for my skin, but it doesn't overwhelm my skin. It's one of those creams where it actually moisturizes deep inside of the skin and not on top of your skin. This feels like it fully absorbs into my skin, but it does all that nourishment and moisture deep in my skin where I need it the most, but it just does not interfere with the top of my skin."
Winter Am Skincare Routine with Makeup!
"One of my favorites long time is the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I absolutely love this and I really gravitate towards it a lot in any season, really year round. This tends to just do really well for my skin. But lately it hasn't been feeling quite nourishing enough. My skin goes really dry in the winter and so I need something a little bit more nourishing than CeraVe."
3 Skincare Secrets to a Strong Barrier in Fall | AD ft haruharu wonder
"It has this really silky creamy texture that absorbs in very quickly. It feels really nourishing, comforting, soothing, but it's not really heavy. It doesn't seal your skin off or make it so that your skin can't breathe. It's a particularly good one if you do have a combination skin type or if you're looking for a barrier cream that's not too heavy. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is an old school favorite of mine because it really has a lot of the qualities that I look for in a good moisturizer to fight dehydration as well as keeping my barrier strong. Ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids are in there. There's also some dimethicone and petrolatum in this moisturizer that create a nice occlusive quality to this medium-weight cream, almost like a little bit of slugging in your moisturizer. It has this great medium-weight texture and does all the moisturization inside of your skin, but it doesn't leave a greasy rich layer on top of your skin. It actually has a pretty nice neutral to satin type of finish. So it's really great especially if you don't want a very dewy, high gloss finish to your moisturizer."
Stress-Free AM and PM Summer Skincare Routine
"I'm using the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream which I've loved for a really long time. I'm actually going to put two to three drops of the ordinary chia seed oil mixed directly into my moisturizer and then apply. The reason that I'm doing this is because I love oil, it really soothes and nourishes my skin, and the chia seed oil has that right Omega profile of fatty acids that's really good for your moisture barrier, so that just helps keep my skin strong. Since I did up my percentage of tretinoin, I sometimes find that the next day I am a little extra dry, so this is just to kind of help prevent that really dry feeling in the middle of the day."
Good, Better, Best Skincare Empties!
"This is one of my hardcore favorite drugstore moisturizers and this is something I named as best of 2022 for skincare. I buy this all the time and I really love this. I use this as a body moisturizer quite honestly, but I also very occasionally use it for my face and really really like it. The only reason I don't always use it for my face is sometimes it's not enough, sometimes it's a little too occlusive."
If I was repairing my skin barrier today I'd use...
"It's a really silky rich cream, definitely much heftier and thicker than some other options, but it actually feels incredibly soothing especially if you're experiencing a lot of dryness on your skin from dehydration. I really like the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and that's actually really the moisturizer I leaned on pretty heavily when I was healing my damaged moisture barrier. It was cheap, it was accessible, it was effective. This is a formula that is all focused on barrier care. There is a little bit of petrolatum in this cream as well, and that actually is an amazing occlusive ingredient because it does create that temporary barrier on your skin that holds the hydration into your skin longer and really resists transepidermal water loss. The texture is a medium cream that has a little bit more occlusivity and a little bit more protective feel than some lighter options."

"Brands such as CeraVe have really driven this narrative that you can never have too much of a good thing when it comes to ceramides. And ceramides are in every single one of their skincare products. So if you were to shop exclusively with CeraVe for your skincare routine, you might end up with eight products that contain the same ceramides using them back to back to back, which can absolutely cause problems. Ceramides are clinically proven to deliver great barrier boosting benefit and preventing dehydration in the skin but you don't need a whole lot of them to actually deliver this benefit."

"I know a lot of people have issue with CeraVe moisturizers. The amount of niacinamide in there is problematic for some people, not everyone, but for some people. There's a lot of potentially irritating ingredients in them. I think people feel that CeraVe is an easy product, like an easy product line for sensitive skin. It's not actually, a lot of their products aren't sensitive skin friendly. So you do have to kind of bear that in mind. It's probably the volume of niacinamide, I would probably say, but it could be any number of things. I do know a lot of people that say they don't get a lot of success with CeraVe with sensitive skin, which is kind of a shame because they do badge themselves as a sensitive skin friendly brand and they're kind of not always."

"My first recommendation is the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. This one restores and strengthens the skin barrier with ceramides. It's not greasy, but it's a really rich formula that gives you long-lasting hydration. I think this is perfect head to toe; I've used it everywhere. The key ingredients are ceramides 1, 3, and 6, which help restore and repair the skin barrier; hyaluronic acid, which helps attract and retain moisture; dimethicone, which conditions the skin and improves softness and flexibility; and petrolatum, which is formulated to relieve dry, flaky, or irritated skin and acts as an occlusive in this formula to help seal all that moisture in."

"The first one hands down has to be the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's super rich, non-greasy, fast absorbing, with three essential ceramides that lock in the skin's moisture and help maintain the skin's protective barrier. There's zero fragrance whatsoever. It helps hydrate and restore the barrier with a mix of ceramides and hyaluronic acid. It restores essential ceramides that eczema-prone skin lacks, and it hydrates so deeply and reduces the itch and irritation, as long as you use it consistently and apply it immediately after the shower. I think it's great for body, legs, arms, really anywhere prone to flares. My non-acne-prone kid, I have him use this on his face as well, because he is just that dry and lotion just doesn't get the job done. The key ingredients are ceramides 1, 3, 6, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin."

Save vs Splurge: Dermatologist-Approved Skincare Picks That Are Actually Worth It
"My recommendation here is going to be your CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's only like 15 bucks for a giant jar. It's only about 3 cents per ml. That is like dirt cheap. And this stuff, you can use it head to toe, literally face, neck, all the way down to your toes. I love it immediately after shower on damp skin regardless of the body part. This cream is amazing. It's good at hydrating and restoring that barrier. It has really good mix of ceramides and hyaluronic acid. It is rich, non-greasy, fast absorbing moisturizer with those three essential ceramides that lock in your skin's moisture and help maintain the skin protective barrier. The key ingredients are the ceramides 1, 3, and 6, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin. The CeraVe has very similar lipid profile at a fraction of the price. It's a little bit heavier, a little bit less lux feeling than some competitors, but the versatility of this cream, it is out of this world. From newborns to elderly, head to toe, no fragrance whatsoever, no irritation, and replaces your lipids and ceramides. I'm going to go ahead and say this is a no-brainer."

"My first recommendation in this category is definitely CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. This is not just for face. This is for your whole body. Comes in a giant jar. Has zero scent whatsoever. It replenishes those lost ceramides which decline with age and lead to dryness and irritation. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream can also help strengthen the skin barrier helping protect against those external aggressors. It hydrates really really nice. It doesn't feel greasy, absorbs pretty quick. I think it's appropriate for morning and evening face, neck, chest, really like your entire body. The key ingredients in this one are the ceramides, hyaluronic acid, the methylone, and prolotum."

It will also help strengthen that skin barrier helping to protect against any external aggressors. It will hydrate deeply without feeling greasy making it suitable for both daytime and nighttime use. The lotion is a bit more lightweight in comparison to the cream, but they're both excellent on the face. A lot of people, however, report that CeraVe facial products burn and sting."

If the ceramides were the make or break of whether or not I chose a product like this, I would just go with the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. "CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is great for the face, the body, babies, the whole family. It's non-comedogenic, so you don't have to worry about clogging your pores. It's creamy and not suffocating, but it is more rich than the lotion version, so I think it's still more suitable for those with more dry skin. "This is a great moisturizer especially if you have dry, eczema prone skin or have sensitive skin, rosacea prone skin. I love the fact it comes in a big jar you can pump out and great to use on face and body, great to use for the whole family for babies and kids. CeraVe is one line that I always point my sensitive skin, rosacea prone skin patients to, especially those that have a history of contact dermatitis, allergies where you may be sensitive to common preservatives and fragrances. This moisturizing cream is really nice and heavy but is not going to be super thick and occlusive, so even for those that have dry, acne prone skin it is great to use. I personally love this. In the summertime I would use it in the evening as my facial moisturizer, use it as my whole body moisturizer, use it on my kids, and especially in the wintertime this would be like one of our go-to to use on face and body. Ingredient wise, it's got nice hydrating ingredients. It also has petrolatum which does offer that occlusive nature, but again it's not heavy or sticky, and it also contains dimethicone which is a silicone that helps to act as an emollient but also offers skin repair properties."

10 winter skincare hacks from a dermatologist | Dr. Jenny Liu
"This is just such a wonderful product and I've recommended it for over 15 years and I continue to recommend because it is just that good. It is a thick cream that's nourishing but it's non-greasy, fast-absorbing, great for all skin types, during the winter time especially if you have dry skin, eczema-prone skin, and sensitive skin. It is suitable to use on face and body, so literally one-stop shop to it. It's fragrance-free and it's accepted by the National Eczema Association. This has three essential ceramides that we know is really the cool core of CeraVe products along with hyaluronic acid that helps to hydrate, and petrolatum that makes a great occlusive to reduce transepidermal water loss. What is unique to all of CeraVe products is it's formulated not just with those ingredients but in a unique packaging system called MVE multivesicular emulsion technology. Basically, you can think of it as all the active ingredients are packaged into little tiny vehicles within the cream, and then when it's applied on the skin it is slowly released into your skin over time, so it basically is more gentle but also delivers better hydrating, moisturizing results over time."

Dermatologist eczema and dry skincare tips for winter | Dr. Jenny Liu
"One of the first products I recommend for those individuals with eczema prone skin and dry skin to use is CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. This is one of the go-to ones that dermatologists recommend all around for dry skin eczema prone skin. It is a thick cream that is really helpful at keeping the skin hydrated. It also has hyaluronic acid and petrolatum that are great at hydrating the skin preventing transepidermal water loss, but also contains their three essential ceramides and this MVE technology that really helps to deliver these active ingredients slowly over time. Ceramides are super important and have been shown to really help restore the skin barrier. In fact, ceramides is one of the lipids that is lacking often in dry and eczema prone skin, and certainly studies have shown that using moisturizers with ceramides can definitely help to restore our skin barrier and also help to improve eczema prone skin. I also love the fact that this is a very big volume and great for face and body. It is non-comedogenic."

"CeraVe are also fantastic just to help with the barrier. Set of ones in particular quite nice because they got nice ingredients which helps with a barrier. For example the CeraVe, so what would you use as a base layer if you're going to be doing this, a good base layer would be something like squalene, squalene maybe a squalene hyaluronic acid mix. The one from the ordinary is pretty cool. And for all of you whose skin barrier is damaged but also you are now getting flaking, meaning skin is peeling, the skin barrier is so compromised."

All 3 takes from Dr. Aanchal MD
Dry skin moisturiser | CeraVe | Dermatologist reviews
"CeraVe makes products with ceramides and hyaluronic acid which helps in soothing and moisturizing the skin and also helps in repairing the skin barrier. They have a range of products meant for different skin types, including products for dry skin, for very dry skin, and also for oily skin. This range contains ceramides which are identical to the ones present naturally in the skin, and the microvesicular technology helps in better penetration of the cream, which shows lasting hydration and moisturization to the skin. The formulation is not oily, not sticky, and it's very pleasant to apply. Along with ceramides it also has glycerine, triglycerides, hyaluronic acid, and cholesterol, all these components work together synergistically to hydrate and moisturize the skin. The CeraVe cream and lotion meant for dry to very dry skin is perfectly suited for those with eczema prone skin or atopic dermatitis. This helps in soothing the skin and it not only moisturizes the skin."
