What the gurus are saying

Experts consistently praised this sunscreen for delivering minimal white cast despite being all mineral, a feat they found impressive. The formula is lightweight, moisturizing, and layers well under makeup, with ceramides and niacinamide that calm and support the skin barrier. However, it is not water-resistant, so anyone planning water activities, sweating outdoors, or working out should reach for a different sunscreen. Those with normal to oily skin tend to prefer it over dry skin types.

"CeraVe's new Invisible Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 also has niacinamide. If you want a mineral, all mineral option, check out that new one. I did a review on it a few weeks ago and it's great. I'm so glad we got samples of that in my clinic."

“Boring” Skincare That Works Better Than Viral Products (Dermatologist Picks)
"I'm impressed because traditionally CeraVe all mineral sunscreens that weren't tinted didn't do well. They were just too much of a thick white cast. When they came out with one that they said was invisible, I thought that was pretty bold. My review is thumbs up. Nice to have an all mineral sunscreen, meaning it has titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, no chemical UV filters. If you have sensitive skin and you're worried about chemical UV filters irritating your skin, if you do have sensitive skin and have rosacea and want to stick to all mineral, go ahead and try this one out. It's very affordable and has niacinamide and ceramide. But it's not water resistant, so just keep that in mind. If you're going to do water play, go with a different sunscreen."
After the World’s Largest Dermatology Conference… These ‘Boring’ Products Still Win
"Their AM SPF 50 has done wonders. They've done a great job with that. It's a great one with niacinamide. Very lightweight, much more of an elegant finish than their SPF 30 AM. Just know that that SPF 50 product, that AM product, is not water-resistant, and you want to go for a water-resistant sunscreen if you're going to go do water play or work out outside and get sweaty."
CeraVe’s New Mineral Sunscreen… Is It Actually Invisible?
"I got to give it a thumbs up. I got to give it a probably a nine out of 10. It's just affordable, accessible. It has the ingredients that I want. Not only is it just mineral based, but it has your ceramides to help repair the skin barrier as well as niacinamide to soothe, repair, and also maybe brighten the skin a bit and regulate sebum for my patients with acne-prone skin. It's almost like a unicorn or it's too good to be true to be all mineral but have no white cast. That's amazing."

"This is their invisible mineral sunscreen SPF 50. This uses a new type of zinc oxide that is more sheer on the skin. So this isn't tinted on me. It gives the tiniest white cast that really I don't have to put any makeup on over it. Of course if you have darker skin tone than me it's going to give you a little bit of white cast but is the best as far as not giving a white cast of any mineral sunscreen that's white that I've tried so far. And I really like this one because like all CeraVe products it's got the ceramides in it and the ceramide helper. It's got hyaluronic acid."

I Tried $500 Worth of NEW Mineral Sunscreens So YOU DON'T HAVE TO! SPF Showdown 2026
"This one leaves that tiniest little bit of white cast. It's better for more normal to combo to oily skin people. If you're a dry skin person, I'm not sure that you will absolutely love this. I'm going to give it four out of five as a standalone sunscreen and for under foundation, a four out of five."

"I don't typically favor mineral sunscreens. So, for me to finish them says a lot. It means that they are good. And I finished the CeraVe Invisible Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50. And this is another zinc oxide sunscreen. It also has titanium dioxide. The cast on this is very impressive for a mineral formula. It's moisturizing, not the least bit greasy or shiny. And it also does not peel at all, which is wonderful. Sometimes mineral sunscreens, they get a little flaky, and when you try and put makeup on over them, they make a mess. Not the case with this whatsoever. It's got ceramides as do all of CeraVe's products. And sunscreen also makes sense because ultraviolet radiation can compromise ceramide production and integrity and contribute to barrier integrity issues. So I like that aspect of CeraVe sunscreens, plus niacinamide which is common in a lot of CeraVe products. Niacinamide really can bring a lot to the table provided of course you tolerate it. This product is great under makeup. It's not water resistant. However, if you were looking for a water-resistant mineral formula, this would not be it."

"This mineral sunscreen is probably one of the most invisible mineral sunscreens I've ever tried. I'm talking minimal to no white cast. When I started using it, it really reminded me of a certain bougie sunscreen that we all love. It is really giving that a run for its money. And this one is under $16. That's an incredible price. So, a very budget friendly, invisible mineral sunscreen."
