What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently condemn this sunscreen for an extreme white cast that makes it unwearable, especially on deeper skin tones. The paste-like texture resists blending and sits visibly on skin even after layering and massage. While reviewers note the formula is hydrating and non-greasy, the white cast is so pronounced it discourages proper application amounts, undermining the sunscreen's effectiveness.

"The hydrating mineral sunscreen SPF 50, I've worn this quite a bit and it just struggles to blend with darker skin tones. It's very casty. I would classify this as unwearable. This is a criminal release from CeraVe. Unless you have the lightest skin tones or you really don't care about a white cast, you will otherwise hate this sunscreen. It's a pure mineral, it's like a paste. It just doesn't blend really well at all and it'll sit on your face kind of just all white. You can't tell how it doesn't essentially blend very well with my skin."

"The CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is nice and hydrating and it's non-greasy, it sprays nicely on the skin. However, the white cast on this is wild. I don't even think CeraVe had white people in mind when they made this sunscreen. The problem with this mineral sunscreen is that because the white cast is so horrific, sometimes people don't put on as much as they should, and that defeats the purpose since sunscreen is not a little bit goes a long way type of product. Even after you've applied it in thin layers and massaged it in, you still might want to wait a couple minutes just to let the white cast calm down."
