That squalene ingredient just ensures that your skin remains comfortable. When you rinse off your face and you pat your face dry your skin feels really nice. It just feels like your skin, which is what I really like in a cleanser, especially this time of year. I don't want anything that's going to strip my skin or leave some type of heavy residue left behind."

"This is great for dry to very dry skin types but honestly I feel like anybody could use this. I have combination skin and I'm acne prone, this doesn't break me out and this is also very gentle, non-stripping and it doesn't leave a film on the skin. I like to use this more at night time as that second cleanse because this really does foam up nicely on the skin and it really ensures that your skin is super clean before you go in with your skin care. A little bit goes a long way because it does foam up and spread across the skin really nicely so you're getting your money's worth here. There's squalene in here which is a very hydrating ingredient, there are three ceramides to strengthen and repair that skin barrier, and there's hyaluronic acid."

"While it's marketed for dry and very dry skin, I think those of you who have oily skin or combination skin would be well served by this cleanser as illustrated by how good it is at removing water resistant sunscreen. It's going to do a good job removing excess sebum on the skin surface but without stripping the skin of moisturizing factors. In fact it deposits hydrating ingredients behind. Ultimately I think it's a great cleanser for a variety of skin types. For me personally this one has stood out as a step up in comparison to some of the others in terms of its cleansability, its hydrating properties, and the fact that it removes a lot of the grime on its own but it doesn't leave the skin feeling sensitive. I've gotten a lot of feedback from you guys over the years who have tried CeraVe cleansers and find that they burn and sting. I think you're going to find that this is not that way. I really do think it represents an improvement upon some of their other cleansing formulas."

"It has sodium hyaluronate, a humectant that can deposit behind and help improve moisture retention, helping to further counteract the dryness. While I don't really find that this has an oily texture to it, it does to a certain extent behave like a combination of a cleansing oil and a gentle cleanser all wrapped into one, so instead of a double cleanse, it kind of bridges a gap between the two and does a good job by itself removing water resistant sunscreen. It also does a good job removing cosmetics, never got any like raccoon eye residue left behind. So if you're someone especially who doesn't really use a lot of makeup but you do wear water resistant sunscreen, you might find that this is all you need. You don't necessarily need oil cleanser or cleansing balm."

"I've continued using it since my review of this product back in June and I have here and there noticed that I do get some raccoon eyes and do still need to use an oil cleanser, but by and large it does a really good job. "The CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser, I don't find it to be like an oil, I don't find it to be like a foam, I just find it to be more of a gel honestly. It does a good job removing oil, gently exfoliating the skin while also replenishing things like ceramides and hyaluronic acid in the skin to really just balance out overall moisture and not be too taxing on the moisture barrier. "I really put this to the test with two rounds of the CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser for dry to very dry skin. This was a 2023 cleanser favorite for me and I have since repurchased it. What I like about it is that it has this oily emollient feel to it as it's gliding over your skin and then it works up into a gentle silky lather. It's not the least bit drying or irritating. It's very effective at getting makeup off without using an oil cleanser, although if you have heavy makeup this alone might not be enough. Like all of CeraVe's products, it has ceramides, it has hyaluronic acid, it has cholesterol. These are things that in a cleanser can be deposited behind on the skin and don't just rinse off right away, so they can help in making sure that your skin does not become overly dry or stripped with cleansing. I really like this, and I also used it a fair amount as a hand wash."
