"So they do use gentle surfactants, which I like. They've got sodium cocoyl iso isethionate, which is rare actually, but it's a very good gentle surfactant. And it's also got sodium methyl cocoyl taurate as well. Both are derived from coconut and I'm happy with both. They've even got good humectants in it. So they've got glycerin, urea, sodium hyaluronate. All excellent, great for skin of color. But they pack it with fragrance. They then put in limonene, linalool, and they've also put in irritating pigment CI 15985. Fragrance is the number one cause of contact dermatitis. There's a delayed reaction that happens years into the future. You could be wearing the same product for years and have no issue and then suddenly you're irritated by that particular product. And then on top of that, it's a co-sensitizer to all the other ingredients in that product. So in my opinion, there is no place for fragrance in skin care."

"It's packed with moisturizers. So, it's got glycerin, it's got dipropylene glycol, it's got prunus dulcis oil, it's got cannabis sativa seed oil, it's got caprylyl glycol, it's got pentylene glycol. So, I'm very happy with the state of the moisturizers in this cleanser. I love the surfactants, they're very gentle. So, they've got coco betaine, they've got coco glucoside. So, I would say purchase this if you've got sensitive skin, if you've got dry skin, if you've got normal skin. And so, it's actually a breath of fresh air, this particular cleanser. The positives: there's no fragrance, no essential oils, there's no drying alcohols, there's no irritants."

"The ingredients are actually really simple: water, glycerin, cetyl alcohol, phenoxyethanol, and ceramides, so a very simple, gentle, hydrating formula. It's actually feeling very soothing to the skin. I feel like it's calming my skin. I really love this hydrating cleanser. My water content has gone up to 92%, which I'm very happy about. It feels very supple on the skin. This should be the one you go for if you have eczema."

"The hydrating formula is actually feeling very soothing to the skin. I feel like it's calming my skin. I really love this hydrating cleanser. It's actually better than the cream to foam that we just used, that was a bit stingy on the eyes, but this feels very supple on the skin. The ingredients here are water, glycerin, surfactants, and ceramides plus hyaluronic acid. It does feel slightly more hydrating than the foaming cleanser. For example, if you have eczema, go for the hydrating cleanser over the foaming one. I would say for teens and pre-teens and even my daughter who's 11 years old, go for the hydrating cleanser."

"Choose your cleanser wisely. You can be very tempted to choose that harsh cleanser that you feel really cleanses the skin and removes all the oil and dead skin, but that's not what you want to do. Use a gentle cleanser, or something with salicylic acid mixed with something like a ceramide, so that it controls your oil without drying your skin out. It's really hydrating, creamy, so it's not going to do the film stuff. If you're somebody who wears a lot of makeup, consider double cleansing with a cleansing balm or micellar water first and then using this cleanser afterwards. This is a really, really nice hydrating formula. It leaves your skin really nice and soft. It doesn't foam up. You can use it on face and body. We do often use it head to toe, especially on travel days because it's an easy one that you can pack. It will do face and body. It's gentle. It doesn't foam. It has this lotion-like texture, so it's really good for normal to dry skin. It does cleanse your skin without stripping or disrupting your barrier. It uses this MVE technology for slow release of moisture. It's completely non-comedogenic, fragrance-free, and eczema friendly. The key ingredients here are ceramides and hyaluronic acid for hydration and barrier repair. It also contains glycerin, cholesterol, and phytosterols for barrier support function."

"I often recommend to my patients to start with a gentle cleanser. This is just one example that we're using for this video, the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. One of my favorites because it really leaves my skin feeling soft and well cared for, not overdrying, not stripping. It actually has some properties that help to hydrate the skin with essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid. This one doesn't foam up a ton, and that's okay. It doesn't need to foam to be effective."

"I've only been using this for a couple of weeks. For washing my face I don't want anything that's going to strip my skin, I don't want my skin to feel tight and dry afterwards. It's not the greatest at getting off like makeup but I do a double cleanse in the evening. This is just for my morning cleanse where really my skin is essentially still clean from the night before, so I rub that into my dry skin then I give it a little splash with water."

"The CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser is an old longtime favorite. This one doesn't sting my skin, it doesn't have any surfactant, it's very hydrating, very moisturizing. It's not going to remove your waterproof makeup, sunscreen, and all those things, but as a second cleanse it's great. It takes a little bit longer to rinse away than some of the other cleansers that I'm used to for my second cleanse. I just wish that it rinsed a little bit quicker from the skin, but other than that, no complaints about it really. I like it."

"The hydrating cleanser was a gentle cleanser formulated to remove impurities without stripping the skin's moisture. It was formulated with ceramides, as well as their patented multivesicular emulsion technology. This technology allowed for the gradual release of moisturizing ingredients over 24 hours, providing long lasting hydration and enhanced skin barrier restoration. This was new and something different at the time, which it feels so standard now. The technology was a key aspect for the brand as they felt that other skincare products were only helpful for a short amount of time after use. They didn't have this slow release technology, which wasn't very helpful to people who suffered from skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema, as they would have to constantly keep applying these products throughout the day, otherwise their skin would get dry, flaky and itchy."

"This is definitely one of their holy grail products that even though their product line continues to expand will always have a special place in my heart. CeraVe is one of the first brands that comes to mind when we think about gentle cleansers. They have great formulation and they use this multivesicular emulsion technology that helps to release products over time to keep the skin hydrated. On top of that it contains hyaluronic acid as well as three essential ceramides that are really important to support the skin barrier and to keep our skin healthy. This cleanser in particular is creamy and non-foaming which I think is better suited for those with normal skin, more dry skin, and sensitive skin. It's also fragrance free so if you have rosacea and sensitive skin it's a great one to use. For the winter time it's really suitable for all skin types, even for those with more oily and combination skin. I find I actually love creamy non-foaming cleansers in the morning because I don't need to really aggressively cleanse my skin. I just need something that can gently yet effectively remove all the skincare products that I put on the night before to create that clean canvas to allow my new skincare products to penetrate."

"This is just such a great fragrance-free cleanser. The whole entire line was really designed for individuals that have eczema and sensitive skin, and this cleanser is accepted by the National Eczema Association. It's devoid of common things that can trigger eczema and sensitive skin, so like dyes, fragrances, and harsh preservatives. It contains a gentle surfactant that's going to cleanse your skin well. It does have a nice gentle foaming lather, but it's not going to make your skin feel very stripped."

It contains gentle surfactants so it will cleanse your skin, it has a nice lather, but afterwards your skin does not feel super dry, tight, or stripped. It also is fragrance-free and devoid of common irritants and allergens that may cause reaction on eczema-prone skin. This is also a great one to use for both morning and evening as well. If you do wear a lot of products like you slug at night or if you're more oily skin, doing a gentle cleanse like using this cleanser can remove all that buildup so that way you would have a clean canvas for the rest of your skincare routine."

"CeraVe's Hydrating Facial Cleanser is very similar and it's not foamy and imparts some hydration. It's pretty effective for kind of simple skincare and light makeup at removing that the seabum, the impurities and the debris. This one also contains three essential ceramides along with hyaluronic acid."

"I recommend going with a gentle cleanser like the one from CeraVe, their daily facial cleanser that retails for about $11 and 37 on Amazon or Target. This whole line has different formulas, but overall it's creamy. It's really gentle, helps to cleanse and clean your skin without over stripping your skin. Ingredient wise it contains glycerin, panthenol, and niacinamide, all really helpful hydrating and soothing ingredients that help to support your skin barrier and basically reduce the irritation that your skin makes from cleansing."

"It's truly great for all skin types even though it's marketed as normal to dry skin. I have combination skin and I am acne prone and I absolutely love this. It never breaks me out, it keeps my skin nice and comfortable, nice and moisturized. It's super gentle, it doesn't burn my eyes, and it's just one of those everyday cleansers that I feel like should be in everyone's arsenal. I wouldn't say this is the best cleanser to use to remove your makeup and sunscreen as that first cleanse in your nighttime routine. It doesn't exactly remove makeup too well, so I really love using cleansing balms first to loosen everything up and then I always go in with a second cleanse with a cleanser like this just to ensure that my skin is super clean. And then in my morning I will go in with a little bit of this as well just to cleanse my skin and it always does a good job. It never ever disappoints."

CeraVe Skincare | Complete Skincare Product Guide and Review By Dr. Somji
"The hydrating cleanser will restore that skin barrier making sure that you don't lose water and that you don't get kind of the outermost layer of the skin dehydrated because that can cause irritation and acne. If you're in a restorative reparative protocol then CeraVe is fantastic. You can use it as a building block and then you can add major actives within it and it can be combined with other brands quite nicely."

"All you want it to do is to have short contact time on your skin, get the dirt, oil, makeup off of your skin so that you can go on to the next step of your skincare routine. It doesn't need to stay on your skin, it doesn't need to do anything fancy, it doesn't need to cost a fortune. You just need it to do its job. I always go in with my gentle cleanser after to make sure all of that makeup is removed and that's what I prefer, that's what I recommend. I think you will get the deepest, most effective cleanse in this two-step process."

FIX Your Skin Barrier in 3 Days! | Easy Skincare Routine by The Budget Derm
"This one has ceramides in it and it has hyaluronic acid again pulling water into the skin, the ceramides helping to plug those leaky holes in the skin barrier and strengthening it, and this one is fragrance-free, very simple and clean formulation. It is a workhorse cleanser in a skin barrier reset routine. It's creamy, it's not foaming much, but it does a really good job cleansing the skin. I'm getting all of the dirt and oil off in a gentle manner."

ULTIMATE SKINCARE DUPES 2024 - Next Level Skincare
"The CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a worldwide best seller and I know a lot of people love it for its ceramide-infused gentle cleansing action. However, when it comes to dupes, it's not always about doing something cheaper, potentially we could have a similar product that's the same price but just with a better formulation or better results. The CeraVe one has fewer ceramides, and I think it's not as good a cleanser in terms of performance. It doesn't remove everything from water-resistant SPF to waterproof makeup as effectively, and it's not as gentle. Also, the CeraVe one isn't cruelty-free, whereas there are alternatives that are."

It is a very, very, very gentle as well as hydrating formula. It contains ceramides, which is the main stay of CeraVe's developments and products, and it's just very good for sensitive skin, oily skin, combination skin, acne skin."

"The CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser has three types of ceramides and hyaluronic acid and this is just a very gentle cleanser that I've used for a long time. It's affordable as well. I don't believe in spending a lot of money on cleansers because these products are only on your face for a minute or so, and I think your money is better spent on other things with more active ingredients like vitamin C or retinoids."

"For a gentle and hydrating cleanser, I would recommend the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. This contains three types of ceramides as well as hyaluronic acid, which is a humectant that helps your skin hold on to and retain moisture. It's also very affordable, it's very gentle, it comes in a large size, and I use this myself actually as my regular nighttime cleanser."

"Cleansers are always going to be the most irritating part of your skincare routine because they are removing dirt and debris from your skin at the same time they can be disrupting to your skin barriers, so you want to look for gentle cleansers. Products We HATE and LOVE from CeraVe | Doctorly Reviews
"CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser is made for dry skin, doesn't foam at all, great for dry skin. Personally I don't like it because it feels like I'm rubbing lotion on my face, but if you have dry skin you might like that experience because it's not going to be as stripping as some of the other cleansers. My wife has extremely sensitive skin and this lives everywhere. I absolutely hate that it lives everywhere because it's always near empty. I hate the way it feels, but if you have dry skin you probably will love it because it's going to be great for your skin."

"The CeraVe hydrating cleanser, not a bad ingredient list, but for me personally I just I don't understand the hype I never have and I have dry cheeks. I'm definitely interested in the hydrating cleanser like that but I just never see results from it. I don't know comment below if you guys like that cleanser because I really don't understand the hype. CeraVe's other cleansers are definitely better in my opinion."
