What the gurus are saying

Gurus agree this is a solid, budget-friendly starter eye cream for basic hydration and moisture, but opinions split sharply on value and performance for specific concerns. Supporters praise its affordability, creamy texture, and ability to plump and smooth the eye area; detractors argue it's overpriced for what amounts to regular CeraVe moisturizer plus niacinamide, and lacks targeted ingredients like tyrosine inhibitors or collagen stimulators to tackle dark circles or fine lines. The consensus is that it hydrates well but delivers minimal results beyond that.

"For dark circles I like the CeraVe Eye Repair Cream for dark circles. It contains niacinamide. If you have dark circles under your eyes you're going to want to look for something with niacinamide."

"I think this is a great simple eye cream. I've always introduced it on my channel as like a good starter or introductory eye cream to make sure that you're properly nourishing and hydrating your under eye area while preventing damage from occurring down the road. And this eye cream was great when I didn't really struggle with dark circles. But once my dark circles started getting more severe, this one just didn't really do anything anymore. It doesn't necessarily claim to be an eye cream that's going to wipe away your dark circles. It's more focused on moisture, nourishment, and has some great ingredients, but overall, it just leaves a lot to the imagination when it comes to actually brightening any hyperpigmentation or darkness on the under eye area. But it is a good starter eye cream and I still recommend it. It keeps you moisturized, but that's about it."

"It doesn't have any tyrosine inhibitors in this for dark circles, and it also has no collagen stimulators for fine lines. I'm only giving it three out of ten because it's got ceramides in it, because it's got niacinamide in it, and because it's fragrance-safe, meaning it's got no alcohol, no fragrance, and no essential oils, so it's not going to make the skin worse around the eye areas. But it's really going to do nothing for your dark circles or your fine lines. I just don't like it when brands make claims but don't put the ingredients in to back up those claims."

BRIDAL SKINCARE MISTAKES
"CeraVe eye cream is just CeraVe Plus niacinamide in which case you may as well just put niacinamide cream around your eyes or a niacinamide serum and then CeraVe on top. I don't like when there's a huge markup on something that was really a basic product."
BEST & WORST DRUG STORE EYE CREAMS
"It's basically CeraVe moisturizer plus niacinamide. I mean it's okay, but it's £14 for this much, and you know it's usually £20 for the whole tub, so yeah this one was a bit of a gimmick. You'd basically be better off purchasing 10% niacinamide from The Ordinary and then layering it with the CeraVe. It's literally the same thing and at a fraction of the price."

"Their eye cream not very good either. Looks similar to this or is it eye gel or eye cream but I don't think they did a good job on it."

*NEW* CeraVe Vitamin C Eye Cream | HOW DOES IT STACK UP?
"For me personally, this was one I would never waste my time on again because it did nothing and was just having to dispense from another bottle. If you're caffeine sensitive to topical caffeine, I still say just use your regular moisturizer. We're starting to split hairs here on what that's really offering."

"I reinstated the CeraVe Eye Repair Cream in my routine as around the eye skin protectant slash wrinkle plumper smoother brightener. I have continued to use this."

"This one is by CeraVe, called the CeraVe Eye Repair Cream. This is another great drugstore brand that retails for 15 dollars, and I've been using this for years. I always take this with me on the plane because it's small and portable. It has ceramides in it, and I find it creamy and hydrating. I really focus on my eyes because that's where I'm starting to get crepiness, that crepey texture where it's lost all of its elasticity. I found that if I plump it up with this, it makes it look smoother and just makes it look more hydrated. So for me, this is a must, and for the price, for 15 bucks, it's a no-brainer."
