Castor Oil.

I use a few drops right before I go to bed to seal everything in. I usually do my skin care a little bit on the early side in the evening, so everything that needs to sink in has sunk in, and this just helps not dry my skin out overnight. I put it on my feet. I put it on my cuticles. I go through this like crazy. So for me, this is my favorite. Highly budget friendly. Facial oil, body oil, foot oil, cuticle oil. So that is probably one of the best things that I found by accident in the last two years in skincare."

"If you have dry skin and use facial oils regularly, you're probably going to be able to incorporate this into your skin routine no problem. I have dry skin, I use facial oils regularly, I had no additional issues with incorporating castor oil into my routine as a replacement for my facial oils or as an inclusive over my body care. But you have to know your skin and know how your skin is going to react. If you used facial oils in the past and it didn't work out, it's likely that castor oil may not work for you. "I was super skeptical because I think lots of these oils natural or herbal remedies have come before and has always led to disappointment. So I tried it and honestly I've been really really impressed. I've been using castor oil for the past 12 months now and I definitely think it's had a positive impact on my skin. "Castor oil has a variety of anti-inflammatory compounds and it's very viscous, very hydrating, very moisturizing. When you put it on the brow hairs, it coats each hair really nicely and by light scattering it just makes the brows look thicker. A lot of people swear that it grows their brows and there is a little bit of science behind why that might be happening, but unfortunately we just don't have any studies looking at castor oil for brow growth to show that it grows brows, lashes, or scalp hair. "There's no research to support the claims that people make that castor oil grows hair. Although ricinoleic acid is a lot like prostaglandins and one of the treatments for hair loss as well as a prescription lash enhancement is bimatoprost, a prostaglandin analog, so in theory if it has prostaglandin-like activity and if it gets into the follicle, in theory perhaps it could impact hair growth, but we don't have any research to support that. The main benefits in my mind for improving hair whether it be lashes, brows, or hair on your scalp is that it's going to reduce hair breakage, especially for your lashes or if you have a hair type that is prone to breakage, more fragile hair. Castor oil is so viscous it really coats the hairs."

"Castor oil makes sense that it would cut down on lash breakage and help ultimately with improving the health of your lashes, especially after using a lot of lash enhancement things that can lead to lash breakage. As far as applying it to the scalp, if your hair is vulnerable to breakage, castor oil depending on your hair type might be a really good option. For other hair types, especially if your hair is more fine, castor oil is very viscous and you're going to find that it's a little bit too much and it ends up weighing your hair down and looking greasy. But for other hair types it works out really really well and it's something that has been widely used for many many many years. A lot of people appreciate an improvement in hair with castor oil because it creates the illusion that the hair is thicker because it's coating the hair, so you may feel like you have an increase in hair thickness, but whether or not it's just an optical illusion from the coating of the hair strands is to be determined. We really need to do some good research on castor oil to substantiate the claims and figure out what the best way to use it is, the best formulations, the best doses."
