What the gurus are saying

This gel earns consistent praise for being nearly invisible on skin with a silky, non-greasy finish that works well around the eyes and doesn't leave residue even in hair-bearing areas. A few gurus note it has a negligible white cast from the titanium dioxide, though most found it unnoticeable for their skin tone. The main caveat is that it is not water resistant, so anyone who needs sweat or water protection may want to look at the brand's other formulas instead, and the small tube size means body application would go quickly.

"So, can we talk about the Can Make Mermaid UV Gel? I actually tried this about 5 years ago, fell in love. It went through a bit of a pause where they were doing some reformulation work. Anyway, it's back. I think it's better. They've also got an opt out for that Chinese animal testing requirement. So, now a cruelty-free brand, which is great. I'm back using it and it's just really, really nice. If you like the Allies of Skin Invisible Sun Gel, which is a true invisible gel that doesn't distort the skin at all and it's just invisible. If you like that, but you don't like to pay that price point, this is a great dupe for it. Truly invisible. Feels great on the skin. It gives a really nice silky finish to the skin. I absolutely love it. Definitely one that I would recommend in terms of sunscreen if you want impossibly invisible for summer."

"This one's a combo sunscreen of mineral and chemical. It's got octinoxate, juveno plus, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, and tinsorb S. It's also got hop esters and arganine in there for beneficial ingredients. So this one's quite nice. I love the combo. If you suffer from melasma, which is a specific type of hyperpigmentation, you may understand that mineral filters may be better at protecting your skin from the melasma getting worse. So using a combo or mineral might be a great way to help prevent that from getting worse. But anyway, this one's really nice, very effective and efficient."

"I'm using the Canmake Mermaid UV Gel, which I think this one is the clear one. I got my Mermaid UV Gel, I look shiny but I will mattify it when I get to the makeup part."

"It is SPF 50, this one's a hybrid sunscreen with organic AKA chemical active ingredients and it has inorganic titanium dioxide so some people do notice a bit of a white cast with this but I'm telling you it is very negligible. Like the other two, very fast absorbing, non-greasy formula. In my experience it goes in pretty well in hair bearing areas without leaving any kind of residue although it does have the titanium dioxide in there so you may notice a little bit of whiteness. No drying alcohols, no fragrance, moisturizing."

"I've finished up the Can Make Mermaid UV Gel. It's tinted and it's fragrance free. It is a hybrid sunscreen so it has zinc and it has some organic filters. In my opinion for my skin tone there is no cast. The tint is not orangey at all. It has niacinamide and I love this. I mean it's like a favorite for me. The only thing is that it's not water resistant, but this brand makes some water resistant sunscreens that are pretty good. Easy to tolerate around the eyes."

SUNSCREENS I LOVE & FINISHED UP 🗑
"The Canmake Mermaid UV Gel, you need to try this one. This is great for the face at least, it says for face and body, but the tube is so small I usually just end up using this on the face. To use it on the body you would go through this very quickly if not all at once depending on how much body surface area you have exposed. But it's very lightweight, it's not greasy, it has excellent filters, and it's a very hydrating formula."
