What the gurus are saying

Reviewers split on whether this hydrating serum justifies its price point. Some praise the ceramide and niacinamide formula for delivering effective hydration comparable to pricier serums, while others caution it won't effectively address hyperpigmentation and may be less effective for deeper skin tones. Those concerned with brightening might look elsewhere for better results.

"Now we have BYOMA available in Sephora, so you can go get the Brightening Serum from Sephora. BYOMA Brightening Serum, it's just ceramide complex, you get brightening ingredients, you get niacinamide. Effect-wise, payoff-wise, very similar to the Glow Recipe avocado. This is like a super, super hydrating serum."

"This is really not going to be effective for skin of color to be honest because it's basically just a hydrating serum with niacinamide. Yes, you're gonna see a slight glow when you put any moisturizer on and it's got nice ceramide in it, but honestly nowadays I feel like most moisturizers have niacinamide in it, they're sort of basic now. I think this is fine for Caucasian skin but really I wouldn't waste your money on this particular product. It's not going to be very effective, and if you have hyperpigmentation, definitely don't waste your money. There are better products on the market."
