"The Bioma Barrier Repair Treatment is such an incredible repairing moisturizer. I feel like a lot of brands charge so much for this, but Bioma's is [...] just as good as some of those much more expensive moisturizers."

**AFFORDABLE** Skincare Routine!
"I really want to get another of the pink bottle, I had this one on backup but I do think I like the pink one somehow even more. I feel like Byoma does moisturizers well. Now that I've opened this I'm probably going to rediscover my love for this one. If you do have dry skin without any acne, lucky you, you will probably just love this moisturizer."
Summer Skincare Empties: ALL THE SUNSCREEN
"The Bioma Barrier Repair Treatment is another incredible moisturizer from this brand, and it does feel more reparative. But you'd think the one labeled repair would be better, and it actually stings on application."
BEST Affordable Skincare of 2024 (I Like Saving Money)
"My other moisturizer pick, tied with Stratia, is the Bioma Barrier Plus Repair Treatment. It's such a good, thicker moisturizer. Realistically I think the Stratia does more in terms of repair and this does more in terms of moisturizing, so it comes down to whether you want repair with a bit of moisture, or moisture with a bit of repair."
I Tried Byoma Skincare for a Month: What I Liked (and Didn't!)
"They knocked it out of the park with this new barrier plus repair treatment, I cannot believe how beautiful this is. [...] The entire time you use this you will be getting this incredible blend of ceramide ingredients, humectants, occlusives, some oils in this formula, some shea butter, some ectoin, that brightening constituent in licorice root. They mastered this formula, this might actually be my absolute favorite Byoma product."

"Nice thick occlusive. I would probably recommend it at night or if you have very dry skin, you can certainly use it in your daytime routine, too. It doesn't leave your skin looking too, it sets to a pretty natural finish, I would say."

BYOMA Skincare Barrier + Repair Treatment Moisturizer Review, How to Use, & Dupes
"In terms of the it factor, it's not a must have for me. It's a decent one, I'll definitely finish it, I'll probably save it for this winter and finish up there, but at this point I wouldn't repurchase it. [...] Overall it's decent, it didn't blow me away but it's not a bad product. I just say if you have easily irritated skin or acne prone skin you're probably going to want to find something else, but otherwise no issues."

"This is an outstanding product. I really love this product. Ectoin is an extremely light ingredient, it basically helps protect the skin from pollution and stress, and gives some protection from light as well. It helps soothe the skin and repair the skin barrier, so it's a beautiful ingredient for skin of color. They've put in ceramides, which of course skin of color is lacking, and I love that they've done that, and they've put in anti-inflammatories."

"I also like the BYOMA Barrier Repair Treatment."

"This is the BYOMA Barrier Repair Treatment with avocado oil, urea, and squalene. This is a very, very heavy moisturizer, also very, very heavy, great for dry, very dry skin or a compromised skin barrier. But I don't think that I would use this underneath my foundation because I think that it would end up just being like too much hydration. I've used this at night."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Ceramides

Ceramides are part of the skin's own barrier, and moisturisers built around them have evidence for holding water in and settling the tightness and flaking that come with a damaged barrier.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
