"I love that this is a super multitasker of a product. It is actually a leave-in treatment that can help to hydrate, detangle, and also protect dry or [...] damaged hair. When I use it, it really helps to reduce my frizz, helps to make my hair feel soft. And I love that it protects against not only heat, but also UV damage, because we know that UV damage can cause oxidative damage to your hair. So, this is really great for prepping your hair before styling or even if you just need little touch-ups throughout the day. It has a signature six oil blend which helps to provide conditioning, moisture, nourishment, softening, and also smoothing of the hair. And it has UV filters, so it helps to protect from oxidative damage from the sun."

"One amazing product that offers both heat and UV protection is from Bumble and Bumble, their Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer. This is essentially like a lightweight cream that you apply on damp hair that offers heat and UV protection. It's great because it has their signature six oil blend along with UV filters, so this is like a one-stop shop."

"This Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer is like an all-in-one type product. It's very lightweight though so it doesn't weigh down your strands at all, so you can use it from root to tip and it doesn't make your hair greasy. The UV protective aspect helps offset the weathering from UV rays to the strands, especially if you have blonde hair which is a lot more vulnerable to sun damage. It can even turn your hair yellow, so this can help. And if you get your hair color treated, a UV protectant like this can help allow for the color treatment to last a bit longer. The heat protectant aspect of this is really nice because it helps slow down the transfer of heat to the hair strands, cutting down on damage. I don't end up using too much of it so this bottle has lasted me a really long time."

"I'm currently using this off and on and I really love it. The UV rays from the sun they actually contribute to weathering of your hair strands and it's particularly an issue if you have blonde hair but any hair type can be affected. It basically weakens the proteins in your hair and leaves it more vulnerable to damage and weathering, and if you have blonde hair it can yellow your hair. The UV rays so this product has a UV filter in it that will help cut down on that. But the other advantage of that is that if you color treat your hair that UV protectant will help prolong your color treatment. UV rays are a major reason for fading of your color treatment. And it also is a heat protectant. Heat protectants work because the ingredients kind of coat the hair and slow down the heating process so that can minimize heat damage. It has coconut oil, Argan Oil, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, safflower seed oil and macadamia oil all of which lubricate the hair and contribute to gloss and shine."

"It's not the kind of thing that really gives much gloss shine like some of these other products, but it does protect the hair. It's a great option if you're someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, maybe you play tennis or sports outside year round, you hike or whatever, and you have long hair, you swim. This is a really great product to have on hand. I use it, and you don't need very much to get it all over the hair."

"This is the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer. It's like a heat protecting spray which is so nice but it's really lightweight which I love. It's really hydrating, it protects the hair, it's great on wet or dry hair which I love, but it doesn't weigh the hair down. So if I want to blow dry my hair but I want a little bit of a heat protectant added in there, I go for this. And I also use it on dry hair if I'm going to go in with a hot tool. It smells really good too."

"This is the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil, it's the primer. This is beautiful. I used this last time I washed my hair, I put it through the ends and it has a really beautiful texture. It's supposed to be like a heat protectant but it's like a hydrating one, which I thought was nice. I've been really enjoying it."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
