What the gurus are saying

This thick, milky toner rivals premium alternatives like Ilia for a fraction of the cost, pairing a balanced blend of fatty acids, ceramides, and multiple forms of hyaluronic acid with a formula that sinks in nicely. Reviewers praised both its formula and packaging, all without added fragrance. One small detail: the cap requires a fifteen-second wait after dispensing, though experts found it trivial.

"Nice lightweight milky texture. Kind of a toner moisturizer. This one's got some interesting ingredients in here. It's got coconut alkanes. It's got xylitol, which is a sugar-derived humectant. It's got glucose, another sugar derived humectant. It's got several fatty acids, which are really great for hydrating the skin. It's got maple sap, which is another really great hydrating ingredient. It's got ceramides. And then it's got arnica."

"This one's a nice lightweight toner. 16 bucks. I like the packaging. It's really nice packaging. I use this more like an essence where you would just pat it on your skin after cleansing or toning. And it just leaves a nice lightweight layer of hydration for your skin and not greasy or sticky or anything like that. And if you have dry skin, it's a really nice addition into your routine."

"It does do all that. [...] If you have super oily skin, it might be a bit much. For acne prone skin, there's a lot of reviews from people with acne prone skin that say they had no issues with it at all, which is really nice to hear. It doesn't have many ingredients, just sorbetan, hexylene glycol, sorbitan isostearate. It's a little bit higher on the comedogenic scale though, so keep that in mind. But overall it does what it promises to do very nicely."

"That's a nice toner. I like it. It feels nice, no scent to it at all. Some nice packaging I like the packaging. 3.4 ounces. I got it on Ulta, had a little short sale last week. Feels nice, feels hydrating, no scent. I like that."

"I also love their Cosmic Silk Hydrating Milky Toner. [...] This one's really nice. So this one's regular 17 bucks, now it's 11.90. [...] Really nice milky toner. [...] I just pat this one on because it is on the thicker side, but really nice, fun packaging."

"This is absolutely coming for the Ilia toner for a fraction of the price, and it has really nice ingredients too, more balanced moisturizing and hydrating properties. You see fatty acid ingredients in here, you see ceramide ingredients, but you also have hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid in four forms. It actually sinks in nicely. The only funny thing is they say to wait fifteen seconds after dispensing before closing it, but that's not a big deal."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
