What the gurus are saying

Gurus split sharply on this sunscreen. Supporters praise its pure mineral formula, affordability, and UV-reactive packaging as practical reminders to reapply. Critics find it problematic for daily wear, citing a heavy texture, persistent greasiness, and significant white cast that doesn't fade. The core divide is whether the mineral benefits and novelty packaging outweigh the cosmetic drawbacks.

"Blue Lizard Sensitive SPF 50 is a great one for kiddos and for myself when we go to the pool. That one is purely mineral. If you want a mineral-based only sunscreen, use Blue Lizard Sensitive SPF 50. Costco now carries that sunscreen so I'm so happy to see it. They did change their look and their labeling. It's very affordable and great to use for the face and body. They're very famous for their packaging because the label will change color when UV light hits it to remind you, just like those bracelets, that the UV index is high enough you should be wearing sunscreen right now."

"This is a white thick lotion. It goes on feeling super heavy, super greasy, and it has a really strong white cast that doesn't dissipate even after 20 to 30 minutes of dryback. And I'm putting dry back in air quotes because this never dries back. It stays greasy feeling. I gave it a zero out of five as a sunscreen."
