Unfortunately, a lot of the black community or people with darker skin tones have fallen victim to the idea that their skin is fine in the sun and they don't need to use a good or even a strong sunscreen in their routine. But she's definitely using a really good one and I love to see that she's following up with a good protective sunscreen."

I believe that's the Black Girl Sunscreen, which is super popular, and I love the philosophy of the product because it really was specifically made for Black women who can't easily access a lot of sunscreen formulas because of the white cast that they leave on the skin. That specific product does use chemical UV filters, which I personally don't use, but I've always said people with darker skin tones who aren't able to easily access a lot of sunscreens can really benefit from chemical UV filters because they don't leave any white cast or gray cast on the skin."

"The fragrance in this isn't too strong, it doesn't linger, but it leaves your skin feeling really oily for a long time. It's not greasy, it's not shiny, there's no white cast, it doesn't burn around the eyes. This is seriously my favorite. This is a hybrid sunscreen so it has zinc and also chemical filters for broadspectrum sun protection. So if you don't like all chemical sunscreens and want a hybrid, this would be a good choice, but if you're fine with chemical sunscreens, this is a great, great option."

"Black Girl Sunscreen, $9.99 for 3 oz, marketed to kids but honestly it's great for adults, great on the face and the body. Organic sunscreen, no white cast, no greasy residue, really great base for makeup. Water resistant so you can use it while you're doing sports, working out, outside, active and healthy. Super moisturizing but not greasy. It's emollient though, so it does have a nice skin softening effect which I find I like the aesthetics of that personally. Makeup goes on over it just fine. It has shea butter, jojoba seed oil, carrot seed oil, so these are plant-based emollients that may have antioxidants naturally found in them. These are ingredients that actually are beneficial in moisturizing formulas for their emollient properties."

"I just think there's so many sunscreens out there that I probably would not use this one on my face because the overall sensory experience is not that great. It feels like I'm putting glue on. I don't love the texture and it smells gross. I like that it's affordable, but it is slightly stinging my skin. I do think the texture feels like glue. Just because it works for one person or doesn't sting their skin doesn't mean it won't sting yours. It feels sticky. I feel like there's other brands out there that do it better. This is a fantastic formula that I as well have loved for years now. However, it's not necessarily perfect for oily skin. The avocado and jojoba oil on here, while they are very nourishing for skin, they can break out some oily prone people and they can leave you with a dewy glow that looks greasy for the wrong skin type."
