What the gurus are saying

Gurus agree this balm excels at removing sunscreen and general makeup with a pleasant buttery texture and no residual film. The split emerges on waterproof mascara: some find it effective and gentle across all skin types, while others report it struggles with waterproof formulas and leaves flakes. Fragrance content is noted as a consideration for sensitive skin.

"I love cleansing balms. I like the packaging, too."

"It's fine for breaking down sunscreen but waterproof mascara absolutely not. It took ages for me to work this into my lashes to be able to break down my waterproof mascara and even then I had flakes left over. I just couldn't rub my eyes anymore. So I personally would not recommend this product. It definitely doesn't remove waterproof mascara. I used it to remove sunscreen and stuff and then do my regular cleansing, but I was not really a fan of this."

"This is another great option to remove your makeup and sunscreen at the end of the day as that first cleanse, perfect for all skin types. It's also very gentle and it doesn't leave a film on the skin, but it does contain fragrance so if you don't like fragrance in your skincare and you have sensitive skin please keep that in mind. This one has a really nice buttery texture that feels really nice when you apply it to your skin and it's also quite moisturizing as well. It contains olive fruit, sea buckthorn, and grape seed oil in here, so great ingredients to nourish the skin and great ingredients to remove that makeup and sunscreen."

"This is my first time using this and I have to say I really like it. It retails for about 17 Euros here and I found it really effective because there's some that kind of leave a film or they kind of bother your eyes and this doesn't do any of those things. I've used some less expensive balms that just sting, I just don't like them, so this is just a little bit more luxurious than some of those and I found it highly effective. I think it's also refillable which would be great if that's true."
