What the gurus are saying

This trolamine emulsion accelerates wound healing, which is why experts recommend it for post-procedural use after microneedling and for helping superficial scars fade faster. The catch is fragrance, which can trigger irritation in healing skin, though experts note the scent itself is pleasant and sits in a light citrus family. Anyone concerned about cost or looking for maximum simplicity may reach for Vaseline instead.

"At the pharmacies that I went to, I picked up Biafine. You know that was a French girl secret, French girl pharmacy secret, Biafine. So it's really cute too because they have these mini Biafines, because typically the Biafines are like huge and massive. And so they have these little ones in Korea. Which I feel like really is going to blow up because it's about all of these like tiny tubes that are like eight bucks that are so efficacious and so strong and what they're giving you as far as results. They're in these tiny tubes and everything is so affordable, so accessible. So you really load up at the pharmacy over there."

"Biafine is also a great one to add post procedurally to help with skin healing because we have created tiny wounds through the process of microneedling."

"This is a trolamine emulsion that has been shown to improve the rate of wound healing for post-surgical wounds. It's also used in Europe to treat radiation dermatitis. It does have fragrance, which is not ideal for healing because it can trigger more irritation. I can see why people like it, but I still prefer Vaseline because it's more affordable, especially petroleum jelly for wound healing. That said, the fragrance is actually pretty nice and is in that family of light fresh citrus scents."
