"Belif's The True Cream Aqua Bomb is a perfect lightweight gel cream moisturizer that doesn't just disappear on the skin, with hyaluronic acid, glycerin and lady's mantle extract. I've been using it for years, but this year non-stop. It's hydrating, soothing and calming, and leaves your skin feeling very plump and dewy. I've actually got it on now."

AD Before Glass Skin Was Viral: How Belif Changed Skincare Forever
"This is a bit of an icon of the Belif world and the K beauty world in general. If you've tried any Belif products, it is probably the True Cream Aqua Bomb. [...] Years later, this still manages to live up to its hype and be like a bestseller pretty much everywhere. If you've got skin that needs hydration, aka everyone, you're going to want to try this if you haven't already. This is [...] a lightweight gel cream, so think of a gel cream but make it just that little bit thicker but not heavier on the skin. [...] This melts into your skin, and whilst it melts into the skin, it also leaves your skin feeling like protected, like you've had this moisture wrapped around your skin. [...] It says it actually increases hydration by 231.4%, which I believe because when you put this on, you notice an instant difference, and then like an hour, two hours later, you're like, 'Oh my god, oh my god.' The texture is incredible. Perfect for my oily skin, perfect for my drier cheeks. There's no greasy residue, no stickiness whatsoever, and it wears so nice under makeup and SPF as well. If you're oily, combo, dry, whatever, this plays nice with pretty much everyone. Key ingredients of course being hyaluronic acid in here, Niacinamide as well to gently help improve skin tone and texture, squalane and ceramides too for the skin barrier."

"Belif's True Cream Aqua Bomb was recommended to me by an esthetician where my skin barrier was messed up, I looked at the ingredients and thought there's a lot of things I don't really like in here, there's a fair few essential oils which my skin doesn't usually like, but for some reason my skin loves this. When my skin is really irritated and I don't want to use something thick in the morning, I want a nice glowy dewy look, this is the one I reach for, [...] relatively good for skin barrier too."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Ceramides

Ceramides are part of the skin's own barrier, and moisturisers built around them have evidence for holding water in and settling the tightness and flaking that come with a damaged barrier.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
