What the gurus are saying

The roller's cooling massage feels genuinely pleasant, especially in summer, but most gurus question whether that actually delivers real moisturizing benefits to justify the premium price. Some are more optimistic about the updated formula and its claimed 48-hour moisture retention, though the brand does include fragrance ingredients that won't work for everyone. Given the split views and cost, a regular moisturizer might serve you just as well.

"This is my worst pick, the Belif eye balm. I know Belif makes amazing moisturizers and balms, but I don't think this works the way they intended. It has a roller which feels really cooling, like a really good puffy eye massage, especially in summer, but that's about it. I think they were trying to make it work a certain way and I think they failed. Belif isn't cheap either, so save your money on this one, no."

"I would not use something like this i'd just use my regular moisturizer"

"This is Belief's Moisturizing Eye Balm. I've heard that this is new and improved, a new formula that retains moisture for 48 hours, and I'm really excited to try this one. This brand does sometimes use fragrance ingredients, and this product has some fragrance too, so it might not be for everybody, but I'm so excited about trying this."

"Yeah pass I know I've wanted to try that product before plus it's expensive"

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Ceramides

Ceramides are part of the skin's own barrier, and moisturisers built around them have evidence for holding water in and settling the tightness and flaking that come with a damaged barrier.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
