Glow Replenishing Rice Milk Toner.

"This is one that I wanted to call out as a misunderstood product. It's actually a combination of rice and clay. There is a clay component to this toner and that is what most folks misunderstand about this product. A lot of folks who are looking at milky toners because they want moisture in their skin, maybe their skin is feeling a little dry or dehydrated, are going to be disappointed by this product because the clay content actually means that it's sucking up oil on the skin. And if you don't have a lot of oil on your skin to begin with, it's actually going to make your dry and dehydrated skin worse. There's a clay component in here that isn't like shouted out from the rooftops in the name or the marketing of this particular product. It's quite unique in the milky toner world. It's not quite like the other ones and it would be a recommendation for oily skin types."

"I do think that it can really help with dull looking skin and sebum control. [...] While I do like this product, I don't think that it's going to be perfect for everybody. If you do suffer with dehydration, if you're prone to that, [...] that clay is probably not going to be for you. If you have a classically oily skin type or a combination skin type, I think you'll like this, especially if your combo skin leans a little bit more on the oily side. [...] If you do have dry skin, you don't really need this. If you have a balanced skin type or what people call normal skin type, this probably would be okay for you, just keep your eye out on that clay because it could end up being too much in the end. That really unique addition of clay does actually, in my personal opinion, narrow the audience and who's going to really appreciate and enjoy and benefit from this type of toner. My personal rating on this is going to be a seven out of 10. I do think it's a really good product, but just remember it's not going to be for every skin type."

"Beauty of Joseon is nicely hydrating and soothing. In my opinion, it's probably best for dry to very dry skin types. They say this one helps with pores but it doesn't, it won't. It may absorb oil a little bit but it can't purify pores or anything like that. I would say those with drier skin would probably end up enjoying this one a bit more than those with oilier skin. [...] In terms of texture, it has more of a water-light texture and a hydrating finish that's slightly more natural. If you need a bit more moisture, this one is easy, you can just apply two layers of it and a lot of people have really good luck with it that way. [...] It's easy to apply a couple layers of it without it ending up looking shiny or feeling greasy."

"The Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk is 18 bucks, and in my opinion is great for oilier skin types and acne prone skin types. It has kinetin in there, which is kind of an oil absorbent ingredient, so that's why I say it's probably best for oilier skin types because it does leave it moisturized but soaks up all that extra oil at the same time. [...] For exciting ingredients, we've got kinetin, rice extract, licorice extract, fig, and cocoa, so that makes it a nice option for the oily and acne prone skin type."

"Even after it's been soaking in for a while it's still tacky for a toner. It's not a huge issue for a moisturizer that's super tacky or a sunscreen that's super tacky, that's one thing, but typically most people don't just use a toner and then go. Typically most people apply a serum afterwards, not everybody but most of them, but if you're not, keep that in mind it is sticky sticky sticky. [...] For beneficial ingredients we've got panthenol, skin soothing and wound healing. We've got hyaluronic acid, which is a urea derivative that's a humectant. We've got kaolinite, which is their sebum controlling powder, it's an oil absorbing ingredient. We've got rice extract, it's also oil absorbing and skin soothing. Rice extract can also be brightening too. We've got licorice root, skin soothing, brightening. We've got hydrogenated lecithin, which is an emollient. We've got Japanese goldthread, which is a soothing antioxidant anti-inflammatory plant extract. We've got mimosa extract, which is a humectant. It's also a photoprotective ingredient so photoprotective ingredients help protect your skin from sun and light damage, but there's never any replacement for sunscreen. We've got amorous extract, which is emollient rich in fatty acids. [...] We've got fig fruit extract, antioxidant rich in phenol compounds. Centella asiatica, antioxidant soothing anti-inflammatory."

"This is a two-layer toner, so before you use it you have to shake it. It looks like a milky toner with cream inside it, but it's different from what you'd expect, it doesn't give you any glow. For oily or combo skin, even following the instructions, I didn't feel anything effective from it. It's no good for pores either. They tried to make it a two-layer rice toner that's supposed to be more creamy, but it wasn't. I don't think I'm going to finish this one."

"The rice toner is a milky toner that absorbs slower and sits on the skin longer than watery toners, so you need to take enough time to absorb it by tapping it in. It says it's for oily or combo skin, but for those skin types I think a watery toner like their ginseng toner works better because it absorbs quickly and is lightweight. This one is too drying for dry skin, so it's not good for everyone. I'm passing on this one."

"This new one is a little different, it has two layers, according to the brand a moisture layer and a powder layer, so you have to shake it before you use it. The moisture layer has rice extract that moisturizes the skin, and what's unique is the powder layer, it absorbs oil and purifies pores. For my dry skin it still felt dry even after I applied a few layers. They say it's great for oily and combo skin, so if your skin is similar to mine, pass on this one, it's not as lightweight as the other water type toners. But if you have oily skin and want a toner that works more on hydration than just a watery toner, try this."

"This is the Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk. It uses enzyme exfoliation to smooth out the skin and minimize the appearance of pores, but in a super gentle way. I absolutely love this. It's amazing, absolutely amazing at smoothing out the skin and refining the pores, super gentle. And it also has ceramides, so it's all around hydrating and exfoliating toner. You can use this daily, it's gentle enough to do that. I absolutely love it."

"Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk is so so so good. It's lightweight, it's elegant, it's everything you want from a hydrating milky toner, but it's also got some enzymes here that are going to gently exfoliate the skin and smooth it out. It's got a touch of kolin in here which is going to be great if you're super oily and acne prone, it's going to minimize any breakouts but also have some anti-inflammatory benefits. It's got some hydrators, some humectants, some ceramides, and a plethora of different antioxidants too. This really is an all-in-one, and even though it's got kolin in here, it's in a small quantity, so don't worry if you've got a more dryness-prone skin type, you can absolutely still use this and get great results. This is like a drink for the skin. It's an absolute standout and a Holy Grail."

"This is what they call a double layered toner so you have your one layer which is the moisture and then one layer which is almost like powder, [...] which makes this sound really drying but it's not. The moisture layer obviously moisturizes, but it's so lightweight, it's lightweight non-greasy, and then the powdery bit helps absorb excess sebum. So the toner has an overall not matte finish but it also won't leave you looking overly dewy, but then you also look moisturized and hydrated. It's this perfect in between if you don't like dewy glowy skin but you still want to look well hydrated and feel it. This is perfect. You have those barrier repairing and loving ingredients like ceramides and nice calming ones like panthenol and centella and something called Coffea japonica root extract which is a medicinal herb to help soothe inflamed skin. It's a very very nice toner. Honestly though I do wish it was a little bit thicker. At first I didn't want to use it because it looks so watery, like almost too watery. I thought it would just like slip down my arms, which it doesn't, but it does need to be just that little bit thicker. But the way it makes my skin look and feel I will continue to just keep using this. This is one of those toners I have backups for."

"I own a ton of Beauty of Joseon products. The Glow Replenishing Rice Milk Toner is a favorite of mine. The gel formula makes sure you get this amazing deep hydration, clear, bright-looking skin, and then you have this sebum control layer that takes care of excess sebum and large-looking pores and leaves you with a nice natural glow and soothed skin. You actually see my skin getting less red throughout this routine. It's perfect for those who want deep hydration without an excessive glow."

"I've been using the Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk a lot within the last two to three weeks. I was unsure of this one in the beginning because they said it kind of gives like a mattified finish, but I think what they mean by that is it just takes away any excess sebum. You're not left completely matte and void of all hydration. It's just very soothing, very very hydrating. It's got this dual layer formula. You've got this moisture layer which is like the rice extract, which is very very good for brightening the skin, and then that powder layer on the bottom which is like that sebum controlling layer, which really does give your skin that difference between a natural glowy dewy look versus a wet shiny greasy look that a lot of toners can give you. I actually really enjoy that feature. At first I was like I don't want my toner to leave me matte, but it actually does a really really nice job. It has like a redness calming aspect to it as well, and I've noticed that too, so the redness has really gone down."

"This can't be any higher because I've only been using it for like a week, but I do find this to be an interesting formulation, a double layered toner with a moisturizing layer and a clay-based powder layer that absorbs excess sebum. Overall the toner is not a matte finish but it's not that dewy hydrated moisturizing feeling that a lot of us love milky toners for."
