A lot of people get confused with this product, they'll think this is a dark spot correcting serum, but when you see the ingredients you see nothing except 5% niacinamide and a whole bunch of hydrating ingredients. This is a product where whether it will work on intense dark spots or not is questionable. But this is a product that is a gentle 5% niacinamide which is ideal if your skin is kind of sensitive and cannot tolerate a lot of actives. So for someone who has dry sensitive skin and you don't want to layer, you can actually just use the Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Serum. Keep in mind that this alone is not going to treat problems like melasma, yes, it can fade a little bit of pigmentation. If you want amazing hydration and amazing glow, then that is the product to use. But I know a lot of people who like to use niacinamide plus salicylic acid plus retinol plus this plus that and the other, you can't do so many layering combos with my love. If you really want the goodness of snail mucin, that's the product."

I have hyperpigmentation and melasma and dark spots and all that sun damage, so anything that's for dark spots I'm going to try at least once. In this one I was disappointed. I didn't find the ingredient list to be super loaded with brightening ingredients. I think the main ingredient might have been niacinamide and that was really about it. I didn't find much benefit from it at all, so it was a disappointment. A lot of people love it. Yes, if you have newer hyperpigmentation that's not stubborn it might do the trick, but for me nah, no, no, no, no, nope. That was a loser."
