What the gurus are saying

The tint is the whole argument here, and it splits the room. Fans love a sheer perk-up that doesn't melt or cake (a primer underneath helped it last longer), plus plenty of iron oxide, which matters for melasma, hyperpigmentation and deeper skin tones. The other camp found it thick, orange-brown and so prone to rubbing off that it marked clothes and phones.

"The tint is so off. It [...] is so thick. It was like throwing clay all over my white shirt. [...] It made my face look orange brown, and I wouldn't buy it again even after they reformulated it."

"Like Avène's tinted sunscreen. It ruined my Spam Musubi shirt in Hawaii. I was so sad about that."

"The tints not too orangy. The nice thing about the tinted mineral sunscreens is the tint may offer some additional protection against visible light which contributes to hyperpigmentation. Now this product is quite underrated although here at Walgreens it's super expensive, but it's a really good product."

"I love the tint so much, it's just enough to give you that perk up on your skin. Using it with a primer it lasts a lot longer. This really helps me achieve not having a face of melting makeup, and it's [...] stress-free and saves me so much time. The tint is just so perfect. [...] Now that I've got it down, I'm out the door in just five minutes to perk things up and I'm not worrying about melting, I'm not worrying about caking, I'm not worrying about any of it."

"It just sort of sat on top of my skin. Plus, super transferable. It came off on everything, my clothes, my phone. No matter what I was doing, it just seemed to kind of rub off. So if it was able to absorb a bit more in the skin, I think it would have been a winner, but I just thought it looked beautiful and I was really really sad with the results because I had high hopes. I did give it a two out of five because it looked so lovely. It just didn't stick around."

"These sunscreen options seem to me to have some of the highest iron oxide concentration that I have tried. This is the most important for people with melasma, hyperpigmentation, and those with darker skin tones. The tinted versions also have niacinamide and skin soothing bisabolol and allantoin. So if you have any of these conditions I mentioned like hyperpigmentation or melasma this is definitely worth the spend in my opinion. So yes for the tinted cream."
