"This is one of the best from the drugstore in terms of a product that really helps to focus on crow's feet, fine lines, texture, but this can also help with dark circles and puffiness. This product contains retinaldehyde, which is one step closer to retinoic acid, so it's in between a retinol and tretinoin basically retinoic acid, so this is a little bit stronger than your average retinol ingredient. When you first start using this you do want to be cautious. I would say start with one or two days a week and then gradually increase from there because the skin around the eyes is so delicate and thin. [...] When I first started using this I did have a little bit of dryness in the inner corner of my eye. This formula though is very moisturizing and I do feel like it is quite plumping as well. I recommend using this at nighttime because it does have that retinaldehyde. This also has hyaluronic acid and the thermal spring water which Avène is known for."

"Not everybody loves eye cream but I love eye cream only when it has an anti-aging ingredient like a retinoid in it. That's the only time I think eye creams are worth it. Other than that, if you want just moisture, just use your moisturizer. But eye creams are what I use at night because I choose one with retinaldehyde in it, which is the same line as my face cream but it's an eye cream version, which has a much lower strength of your retinoid in it so that your thin fine eyelid skin can tolerate it without getting irritated."
