"This was one of my sunscreen favorites from 2021, the Avène Intense Protect sunscreen, and I finished another tube of it. It's only available in Europe, it's fragrance free, water resistant, and I use it on my face as well as my body. What I like most about this is not only do I like the way that it looks, it kind of gives the skin a nice glow on the face, it doesn't burn around the eyes, which I also love, doesn't run into my eyes or cause burning or stinging, and it has triasorb, which is an ingredient that helps protect against visible light from the sun, which for people with deeper skin tones can really help with hyperpigmentation. It's a great ingredient, I love this product. Too bad you can't get it here."

"This is my number one sunscreen from this year. It looks really good on the skin, it's moisturizing, it's not greasy, and it feels as though I'm really just putting on a moisturizer. I put it around my eyelids with no burning or stinging, and throughout the day it doesn't seep into my eyes causing that blurry vision. It's a chemical sunscreen with no cast and has a variety of really good chemical filters for both UVA and UVB, plus a unique filter called Triazinone that protects against visible light, which helps with hyperpigmentation. It's water resistant and good for both the face and body. The only caution is that some people say it rubs off and leaves stains on clothing, though I personally haven't experienced that. It's not sold in the US because these filters aren't approved for use in sunscreens there."

"This is seriously my favorite sunscreen of this year. It's got really good filters in it, it's a really good broad spectrum sunscreen, and it has their new filter Triazorb in it which allegedly according to their studies will protect against those pro-pigmenting wavelengths in visible light, the blue light, the HEV, which can generate free radicals in the skin that damage collagen and contribute to hyperpigmentation. In my opinion, if you have a deep skin tone and you're prone to hyperpigmentation, this is probably one of the best sunscreens out there for your needs - it doesn't leave a cast, it's moisturizing, and it has Triazorb in it which protects against those HEV wavelengths and gives good UVA protection which deeper skin tones need for fading melasma or helping with sun damage. I wish we could get it here in the states but we can't."

"For those of you who are not interested in the dry touch formula but you want something creamier more emollient and moisturizing, I've really liked from Avène their Intense Protect SPF 50 plus. This is so comforting for dry skin when you apply it but still leaves your skin sufficiently moisturized for a pretty long time. It is safe to use around the eye area, although if you really have very very sensitive eyes do not go all in at once. This has no fragrance, no alcohol, great for very sensitive skin and can be used on infants from six months old. In fact it's often recommended to use on skin that has just gone through laser treatments or any kind of skin treatment that might leave it compromised. This contains their latest exclusive UV filter called Triazorb which protects against UVA and UVB as well as high energy visible light. The only thing with this other than it's nice in the size of it is that it also is very heavily fragranced. I don't mind fragrance but this is not subtle."
