What the gurus are saying

The gurus who tested it praise the gel for being gentle and fragrance-free, making it reliable for sensitive skin and those prone to razor burn or ingrown hairs. One expert has used it for over a decade and values how it lets people see exactly where they've already shaved, which helps prevent missed spots and repeat passes that cause irritation. The main strength experts highlight is that it soothes rather than stings, and one notes it works well for shaving anywhere on the body, including sensitive areas.

"For years I have used the Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel. This is hypoallergenic, it's fragrance-free, and it does really well with hair everywhere but especially if you're going to be putting it down there. So many times I hear people say oh I just shave with soap, which is fine, but if you're dealing with razor burn, ingrown hairs, itching after you shave, like up your game and use a shave gel."

"My favorite shave gel is the Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel. I have been using the shave gel for gosh I want to say like 10 years. It's just such a tried and true basic shaving lotion but it's really nice. It's not fragranced, it's great for sensitive skin, it's super affordable. I really like to have a shave gel because that actually allows me to see exactly where I've already shaved so I don't repeat spots and I don't miss spots. When people are learning to shave, using a shave gel as a guide is also really helpful because a lot of mistakes that happen with shaving like missing spots or razor burn or cutting yourself have to do with inadequate lubrication or repeating shaving over the same spot too many times."

"The one that has never irritated my skin or my patients is Aveeno's Therapeutic Shave Gel. This one is so good, so I give this to all my family members and friends as gifts. I throw this in the bag because this is so essential. This is such a great shaving gel and it's just soothing, never hurts the skin, never stings the skin, never irritates my skin. No added fragrance, and women can also use this too for shaving."
