"Following that up with the Avène Tolerance Control Cream. This is their soothing skin recovery cream. It's a nice rich cream that feels really soothing on the skin and I want to just lock everything down because I know that this dermatitis is being caused from irritation. So, this is going to help a lot."

"The tolerance control cream is a 10 out of 10. Not going to irritate your skin. A little thicker, a little heavier, and a little more hydrating in and of itself. If you're super super sensitive and the budget ones just still are not quite doing it for you, this is going to be where you would go to next in my opinion."

"The Avène Tolerance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Cream is a little bit thicker. It instantly soothes any stinging, tightness, and heat that's associated with any sort of barrier disruption. So if your barrier is very, very compromised, this one's probably a little bit better option. The Avène helps rebuild a weakened skin barrier, which is often seen during hormonal shifts, and it will do that in as little as 48 hours. It will also support that skin microbiome, which plays a bigger role in skin health especially after your 40s. The key ingredient here is the Prebiotic Thermal Water. It's a postbiotic ingredient that calms that super sensitive skin by targeting the sensory nerve endings as well as the Avène thermal spring water. It has some squalane, shea butter and other soothing ingredients to keep that barrier intact throughout the day."

"The tolerance control soothing skin recovery cream is probably one of my favorite absolute favorite products from Avène. It comes in an airless pump and it's such a creamy nourishing moisturizer that when my skin gets sensitized or irritated, whether it's from using too many products or just that time of the month, I can reliably always use this one to calm my skin, to hydrate and nourish my skin without burning, without causing additional sensitivity. It comes in two different formulas, the regular one and also an Ultra Nourishing one that is thicker and more ideal for extra dry skin. This one provides instant hydration, calming and soothing the skin, but at the same time is lightweight and non-greasy, so really ideal for all skin types but especially if you are more like combination skin. The active ingredients include D-Sensinol along with Avène Thermal Spring Water, which has all the wonderful benefits that is the core to Avène products."

"This is from their tolerance control and they have a few different products but I really love their moisturizer. It comes in a sterile pump and this bottle doesn't have any preservatives. The way they formulate it, they formulate it without preservatives, which I think is an extra bonus if you have sensitive skin, because you could potentially be just extra sensitive or become easily irritated by preservatives. This is the tolerance control soothing skin recovery cream. It's really nice and creamy, hydrating, but not nasty, not shiny, sticky, or heavy. This comes in two different formulations, one is for reactive skin and one is for extra dry reactive skin. The texture is creamy but very nourishing and hydrating, not overly burdensome and not super heavy. This is great, I think more ideal for combination dry skin, normal dry skin. It can be a great option for oily combination skin depending on the season, especially if you use it at night."

Dermatologist's Favorite Avène Skincare Products
"It's got postbiotic ingredients and thermal spring water packaged in a sterile tube that allows you to pump out the product without getting air and other things back into the product. It's a very rich, nourishing cream that when I've used it when my skin was irritated never really burned. Very hydrating, very soothing. It can be used as a daily moisturizer if you have rosacea flares and have a hard time finding moisturizers that don't burn, or as needed when you're going through bouts of skin irritation, or even to spot treat areas that are irritating. It comes in two different formulations, great for very different skin types. A really nice moisturizer that really doesn't cause any skin issues, especially when you have already sensitive and flared up skin at baseline."

"I really like the moisturizer and the cleanser and the thermal Spring Water spray may be beneficial in reducing like irritation in theory compounds in thermal spring water are anti-inflammatory as they come from certain thermophilic bacteria. This is a great little set though if you're looking to do a skin care reset something I recommend doing if you are in the middle of a skin problem you don't know exactly what's going on it's a way to just pair down your skin care routine to the Bare Essentials a really mild cleanser a moisturizer and a sunscreen."
