What the gurus are saying

This all-mineral sunscreen earns praise for its matte finish and effectiveness at blocking visible light, making it a standout pick for melasma-prone skin and those who want to avoid shine. The trade-off is texture: it has a thicker, creamier consistency that works beautifully for normal to combination skin but can feel drying on dry skin. Many people layer it with hydrating sunscreens or mix it into sheerer formulas to mattify their finish, and it comes in multiple shades to suit different tones.

"The Australian Gold Botanical Tinted SPF 50 is another sunscreen that I finished up this month. This one was the winner of my sunscreen testing, I don't even know how many years ago, was it five or seven years? A lot of you guys are using this and you love it. This sunscreen is going to be much better for people with normal to combo skin. People with dry skin tend to find it a little bit drying. This is another tinted all mineral sunscreen. This one is eighty minutes water resistant. It has that SPF 50. This one is like a thicker, more cream texture so it does sit a little bit heavier on the skin, but it does rub in beautifully. It comes in three different shades. This is the medium to tan, which is the one that I buy. It's a little bit too dark for me, but I love mixing this one in with like my white sunscreens that leave me a little bit of a white cast. This is a really great one to mix in because it has more of a matte finish, and a lot of the other sunscreens have more of a shiny, dewy, greasy-looking finish, so this kind of mattifies them down a little bit. This is a great one for mixing in with a lot of other sunscreens, or you can use it on its own. I have purchased another one of those."

"I mix the Australian Gold Botanical Tinted SPF 50 with the EltaMD sunscreen. The Australian Gold has more of a matte finish and is a little bit thicker. It can be a little bit drying, but when mixed with the hydrating EltaMD sunscreen, it works well for my skin. I just add a little bit of the Australian Gold to darken up the color and take down the shine of the EltaMD."

"My favorite drugstore sunscreen is this Australian Gold Botanical, the tinted SPF 50. I love the sunscreen. I have a whole video on this. I have this recommended in a lot of my other videos in my routines. I show it and talk about it all the time. This is the light to medium. It comes in several different shades. It's all mineral and has zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in it and it has iron oxides obviously because it's tinted. So this is going to give you really complete protection against visible light as well. So this is great for melasma prone skin or if you have dark spots."
