Zinc oxide is protective and also anti-inflammatory, fragrance-free. It has oat in it which is good for the moisture barrier, it has anti-inflammatory compounds, and this product also has ceramides. This brand is underrated. All in all, $3.50. I bet you could try using this on the face too if you wanted to. It's a good barrier cream."

"I recommend a fair amount the Aquaphor diaper rash cream fragrance free. Aquaphor healing ointment or the Up and Up version which in my opinion is not that inexpensive at $5.49. It's a skin protectant, really nice thick balm that will help cut down on friction that causes irritation. Also if you're prone to getting hyperpigmentation under the arms or in between the thighs, anywhere where the skin rubs, use a diaper rash cream in those areas. It'll help lubricate the skin surface and cut down on those frictional forces that drive more hyperpigmentation. The reason I like this one by Aquaphor is it's fragrance-free. A lot of diaper rash creams will have fragrance, which is not a good idea because the diaper area in babies is very sensitive, and especially when they're dealing with diaper dermatitis, which is essentially an irritant reaction due to a combination of friction and moisture trapping."
