    What the gurus are saying

This lotion absorbs fast and doesn't feel sticky despite its creamy texture, making it comfortable to wear year-round on body and face alike. Gurus praise the combination of glutathione and niacinamide for defending against oxidative stress and helping with dark spots and redness, while lightweight hydrators like sodium hyaluronate and squalane keep it from feeling heavy. The formula reads more like an antioxidant serum than a traditional body moisturizer, and experts note it's a solid value for the size and potency, though those wanting a richer cream may find it works better on damp skin right after the shower.

"You've got niacinamide and you also have one of the most powerful antioxidants which is great for well-aging. [...] This has been really treating my skin in such a noninvasive and comfortable way. This formula actually has some special absorption technology in it which allows for a creamy and moisturizing formula to distribute on the skin evenly and allow for the most effective absorption of ingredients without any stickiness at all. It's creamy but it absorbs and dries down so fast, so it really is minimal effort to apply. It is moisturizing enough for me. My skin feels like it can breathe and this feels like it just does not congest at all. This is the kind of body moisturizer that would work year round. It even gives my skin a really nice glow, which during this time of year is usually inconceivable. This contains 12% of their own trademark complex, the Lipo Gluta Niacin, it's a concentrated combination of glutathione, niacinamide, as well as centella asiatica and all its derivatives and alongside beta glucan. This is so super calming. Microfluidizer technology was used specifically on the glutathione so that the particles could more easily absorb into the skin, which is all good, that is very well-aging. There's also lipophilic technology in the niacinamide to help it absorb better and work better."

"I discovered this body lotion this year and I'm almost finished with the bottle I have been using it so much. It has niacinamide, which is good for dark spots, redness, the moisture barrier, and oxidative stress, but it also has glutathione, which is an antioxidant that can be helpful for defending against oxidative stress. This lotion is very lightweight and hydrating because it has sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, and squalane. It also has Centella asiatica extract, which are botanical extracts that are anti-inflammatory and soothing. I have enjoyed using this almost like thinking of it as an antioxidant serum for the body because it's pretty lightweight at the same time it's very moisturizing, and you deliver those antioxidants that can help with dark spots, redness, and the moisture barrier. It's great for stubborn areas on your body like your arms and thighs, and I've also used this comfortably on my face."

"This is a Korean brand and I decided to try their Glutathione Niacinamide Body Lotion and I have to say this is almost like an antioxidant serum. It's a pretty lightweight, fragrance-free lotion. I have comfortably used this on my face although it's not specifically marketed in that way. Not only does it have glutathione but it also has niacinamide, so these are good for defending against oxidative stress, helping ward off the stressors that exacerbate hyperpigmentation, help support the needs of the moisture barrier and defend against those free radicals that would prematurely age the skin. It has saccharomyces ferment which is hydrating and contains anti-inflammatory compounds. It also has a variety of compounds from centella, specifically mancic acid, Asiatic acid and Asiatica acid. These show promise for not only warding off against oxidative stress but for helping support the needs of healing pathways. I happen to think that this particular lotion is a really good value, especially if you lean into it as more of an antioxidant serum. It's thicker, a little heavier than like a typically marketed serum would be. That being said, I think it's a great option if you're looking for something a little bit more affordable with a larger size. I have really enjoyed that one."

"The glutathione body lotion has all those key ingredients again but for your body. It's really nice and lightweight. When the weather gets warmer, I don't like to put lotion on my body because I feel like it's sticky and suffocating, but this is super super lightweight. I've mainly been using this as a hand cream because it's so lightweight. I want something I can rub in without taking minutes to rub it in because I don't want oily laptops and keypads with hair coming off on my sticky hands. I want something lightweight and this is really, really good for that."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

    Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
