"This has actually not got enough fats in it for your skin to feel hydrated for a long time. This would actually work quite well if you have more oily acne prone skin and you want a very light lotion. If you actually have dry skin I would avoid this, it needs more fats to make it hydrated for a long period of time. So I say this is okay as a simple lotion and it's got to be approved if that's what you're looking for."

"It doesn't feel greasy or oily at all, and once it absorbs you don't have a shininess or stickiness, but your skin is going to be insanely soft. It really conditions your skin and makes it feel so silky. You feel like you just cannot stop touching your face because it feels so soft. That said, this lotion has zero occlusivity. If you need your final moisturizing layer to hug it in or seal it in, this is not it. This will not fight dehydration on the skin. This is extremely light."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
