It's because they tend to have multiple efficacious ingredients at efficacious levels. I feel like Allies of Skin just does a really good job at balancing their products, but they're not putting too much in, and they're really being mindful of the pH of the products and the appropriate efficacy levels. This one is really fantastic and people see great results. This formula has 2% alpha arbutin, which is a really strong pigment inhibitor. I love to see it in a hyperpigmentation product. It's also a precursor to hydroquinone, which is the gold standard topical for treating any form of hyperpigmentation."
