"This is probably best for people whose hyperpigmentation is triggered by breakouts, adult or teenage acne, and they want to get on top of those breakouts and fade any associated hyperpigmentation, scarring, or discoloration. "It has a bakuchiol complex and that's great for pigmentation and anti-aging, so tons of heavy hitters here. It also feels really nice on the skin, it's like a milky serum. You could use it once a day or twice a day. I usually say twice a day if you're dealing with lots of hyperpigmentation and your skin isn't particularly sensitive. For some people, AIC acid twice a day is going to be a little intense, and I would layer it in your routine where you normally put your serums. Yeah, huge fan of this."

"I have a small obsession with the Allies of Skin Azelaic & Kojic Advanced Clarifying Serum. That is not necessarily marketed as a hyperpigmentation serum, but it has azelaic acid in it, as well as some other pigment brighteners. That is another fantastic multifaceted product."

"This formula is just amazing. They were able to solubilize azelaic acid into just sort of a beautiful beautiful texture. There's no grittiness to it. When you apply it to the skin, what you'll notice is if you look at it, there's almost like a milkiness and it almost looks like it's going to be gritty, but then when you apply it, it really is just so smooth. Now, this is 10% azelaic acid, but it packs a much heavier punch. I also love this packaging. I think it's absolutely beautiful and premium. 1% kojic acid, 10% azelaic acid, 3% hexylresorcinol. So just an overall good formula for dark spots. It's very expensive, 90 to 100 bucks. Texturally, Allies of Skin crushed it. Never skimps on formulations or aesthetics. But you do pay for it on the back end."

"It's also very hydrating. There's squalene in here. I find this to be quite plumping as well. So if I have had a lot of breakouts and I have a lot of post acne marks, this is a serum that I love to incorporate in my routine no matter what. But it pairs up really well with tretinoin and it actually speeds up that process in terms of brightening the skin and evening out my skin tone in a shorter amount of time. So it fades those post acne marks so quickly when I pair it up with tretinoin and I really love this. So great for those that have discoloration, dark spots, also great for those that have redness, you're acne prone.
