What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise this as an effective targeted treatment for stubborn pigmentation, especially hormonal marks and under-eye discoloration that over-the-counter products won't touch. The customization to individual skin needs is highlighted as a major strength. Pricing around $70 per two-month supply is seen as competitive with ineffective drugstore alternatives. One reviewer noted mild stickiness, preferring nighttime application.

"One of the best things that I've ever used for pigmentation is a blended serum that has basically all of the actives that help with hyperpigmentation in one, and this one specifically doesn't have a lot of major exfoliants and this is perfect for any hormonal pigmentation that my skin personally has. This is the Agency Dark Spot Formula and this is custom blended to my skin so what's in mine might not be the same as someone else's but I love this. This specifically has hydroquinone at four percent which is prescription only, it has kojic acid, azelic acid which can help with pigmentation but it's not an exfoliating acid the way that most people think of them, and this also has Resveratrol which is an antioxidant that is fantastic for your skin. This is a nice fluffy little moisturizer. I find that if I put this under my armpits it does kind of feel a little bit moist, a little bit sticky, so I don't do this during the day but I'm happy to do this at night. This is also fantastic for acne marks. You can of course use this on the face that's what it's meant for but if you do have pigmentation in this area this blend for me is perfect."

"With their dark spot serum which contains gold standard ingredients such as hydroquinone and more, now of course what's in your customized prescription serum is going to depend on what your licensed dermatology provider thinks that you need for your skin. So some time ago I had some really prominent discoloration underneath my eyes and it was nothing that I used over the counter that was going to help fade that discoloration because you know it's that level two kind of stuff. The prescription compound that my dermatologist had prescribed had very similar ingredients to what they offer at Agency now. Pricewise they're actually pretty similar to the price of what you would pay for something over the counter that may not actually work for you the way that you want it to. A two-month supply of the dark spot formula is $70 per shipment and you get a little discount if you get both."

"I also do use the Agency Dark Spot Formula. When you put the future formula with the dark spot formula, you're getting eight ingredients that are hand-picked by your provider just for your skin to tackle all your skin care concerns so they can help with your dark spots, with your wrinkles, with your brightness, with your firmness. It really is like a turnkey one-stop shopping for all your anti-aging skin care needs."
