    What the gurus are saying

Hydroquinone earns consistent praise as the gold standard and best-studied ingredient for fading dark spots and post-acne marks. It works across various pigmentation concerns, from acne-related marks to sun spots and melasma, making it valuable for multiple types of discoloration. For anyone with stubborn spots tretinoin alone hasn't budged, combining it with hydroquinone is the next step.

"Agency has a custom prescription dark spot formula and it can contain ingredients such as hydroquinone, which is a gold standard for helping to fade dark spots. However, hydroquinone is something that works really well, almost it works so well that you got to be under advisement of a licensed dermatology provider because if you overuse it that ain't good. So this is why it's amazing to have this type of guidance with Agency. Your licensed dermatology provider is going to be with you every step of the way. Any questions that you have you can message them, they'll get back to you. They check in on your skin to determine how you're doing, if you have any questions, if they need to maybe increase or maybe even decrease the percentage of the active ingredients, maybe they might need to switch things around, especially when it comes to the hydroquinone, which you should only be using short-term. I can attest to this because I used a custom prescription cream years ago to fade some of the discoloration underneath my eyes and it used very similar ingredients to what Agency uses as well."

"I got the dark spot formula because I started to develop some dark spots underneath my chin area. This uses hydroquinone which is an active ingredient that works amazing for dark spots but it should only be used short term, so something like 2 to 3 months on and then you take a break and then if needed you go back on. It's so good that you have those licensed Dermatology providers at Agency because then you're not going to wind up using the hydroquinone long term, which is great to have that kind of guidance with the licensed Dermatology providers at Agency because then you're not using something in a way that you're not supposed to."

"Hydroquinone is a powerful little ingredient that is wonderful. It's actually related to alpha arbutin and it works against tyrosinase enzyme. Hydroquinone is potent, yes it works for the dark marks the acne leaves behind, but some doctors and dermatologists also prescribe hydroquinone for things like sun spots, for melasma, for uneven pigmentation. Hydroquinone is one of those ingredients that was literally the gold standard and it still is if you can get your hands on it. If you have melasma, acne marks that leave behind darkness, pigmentation, this stuff is good just use it and follow directions."

"If you have stubborn dark spots that aren't helped by tretinoin, you can also add on the dark spot formula which contains hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is the prescription ingredient that is the best studied for reducing dark spots, and the combination of them together has been shown to really budge the dark spots on your skin."
