What the gurus are saying

The encapsulated ceramide beads that visibly melt into skin stand out as the signature feature gurus keep coming back to, earning consistent praise for how seamlessly they absorb without feeling heavy or greasy. Dermatologists and creators alike highlight it as especially strong for anyone with a compromised barrier, dry or sensitive skin, or those using actives like tretinoin, and one reviewer notes clinical testing showed it helped reduce redness and roughness after microneedling. One creator found the texture changed in a recent reformulation and no longer suits her skin, so if you've loved it before, a quick patch test may help confirm it still works for you.

"I've used the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream for years, I've gone through so many tubes of this stuff and it's one of those moisturizers I just cycle back to all the time. It's not stimulating collagen and it's not giving me peptides and it's not smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, but I actually think a really good moisturizer is so important when you're talking about well aging. It's built around the barrier and lipids, it's used in hospitals and dermatology clinics, and it's got ceramide MP along with cholesterol and fatty acids in the formula. What I've always loved about this cream compared to other ceramide creams is it doesn't feel like some waxy layer on my skin, it doesn't feel thick and suffocating. It's rich, but it's not overwhelmingly heavy, which is always an issue for me with well-aging moisturizers."

"Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream does come in more expensive, but I find you're paying for the formulation. You get a really nice formulation with it, and it offers more benefits and more beneficial ingredients. You get barrier improvement and skin tone improvement. For me, I can really feel it in the formulations."
What Anti-Aging Creams REALLY Do (and Why It's Not a Bad Thing)
"Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is one of my favorite creams of all time. I empty it every couple of months. It's formulated with these encapsulated ceramides, those tiny little beads that you can kind of see pop and sink into the skin and really help restore your skin barrier. This is my go-to when my skin is just misbehaving or maybe I've gotten a bit too confident with the treatment. They say it's clinically proven to give up to 120 hours of hydration, which is kind of crazy but believable because the ceramides are literally what your barrier is made of. And I've experienced it. I would agree with them. You've got those ceramides again, fatty acids in here to mimic your skin's natural lipids, helping to prevent water loss, which again keeps that all in. It's fragrance-free if that's your thing. Barrier repairing and suitable, I would say, for all skin types, every skin type and condition."
The TRUTH About Skincare Influencers & Product Testing
"Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is one of my favorite moisturizers because I do just use it alongside things I'm testing. So my barrier doesn't get too damaged, or is a bit more cared for if that makes sense."

"My skin didn't feel tight or dehydrated and it was a really warm day too. I felt absolutely fine for 24 hours. My skin felt like it had that hydration locked in and I knew I can trust it because I've used it before, I've used it many times. I absolutely love this. I empty this on a monthly basis. [...] We've got niacinamide to support the skin barrier as well, brighten even skin tone and the brand's own capsule technology to ensure those ceramides stay active for longer. The texture of this is not greasy and it's not rich, but it's also not light. [...] As someone with combination skin, it suits both oily and dry skin perfectly well. I can happily wear this out during the day and wear it overnight without worrying about getting greasy or dry either side of that. If you are somebody who's starting to experience the first signs of barrier damage, which is when I use this, the moment I know something's wrong, I crack this out. Fine lines, dullness. If your skin's been through stress, inflammating, over exfoliating, cold weather or whatever, this should be the moisturizer you are reaching for."

"My favorite barrier product has to be the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. I've been using this moisturizer for countless years [...] and probably always will. It's like CeraVe's cooler cousin, with little ceramide capsules that burst on the skin and help the absorption of ceramides while keeping sensitive skin at the forefront. [...] Unlike other more clinical looking ceramide creams, this feels hydrating. If I need my skin repaired quickly with a guaranteed reduction in redness and irritation, this is what I use. It's used in Korean hospitals, wins awards every year and is first place in the moisturization category."

"My alternative would be anything from Aura and Illiyoon, Korean skincare has an approach to ceramides and healing the skin barrier that feels way more hydrating and less suffocating than what we have with CeraVe. Aestura's ATO barrier line is perfect for those damaged skin barriers, and they have a whole range of products for different skincare concerns."

"Aestura Barrier 360 Cream is like my CeraVe. It's like everything you like about CeraVe but in a much nicer formulation, a more elegant formulation and texture on the skin. I think it's particularly great for dry and oily people because it's got such a nice balance of moisturizing and hydrating without being too oily or too greasy, but also without not giving you enough. A lot of these ceramide creams you imagine these heavy, sticky, claggy kind of ingredients and products, and that's not what this brand is. They actually do a really nice, light, kind of soothing cream. It's like a gel cream, very watery-based, very hydrating, and this will be perfect in summer under a moisturizer."

My Morning☀️ & Evening🌙 Skincare Routine FT Glow Recipe Newness! 🍓🍉
"That's my newest moisturizer obsession, the Aestura Atobarrier 360 Cream, and I'll switch between this and the lotion depending on how my skin feels. Again this is just a ceramide-based moisturizer that helps care for your skin barrier, replenishing those ceramides. I think especially with rosacea it's important to have a strong skin barrier and not to try and mess it up too much, so wherever I can replenish my skin and care for it I try to do so. What I love about Aestura as a front runner in all the barrier creams for me is that its formulation is so light yet nourishing. The 360 cream is like your typical ceramide cream in the sense that you can feel your skin's moisturized but it's not heavy or greasy. They do have a lotion which is fine, but their hydro cream is even better. This is like a water gel cream. It's incredibly lightweight and hydrating, and again has those ceramides to help replenish your skin throughout the day."

"This is the old formula. I bulk bought when I found out the formula was changing. The new one is fine, but I definitely preferred the older one. I'm on my last bit of it and love that formula, though it expires soon so I need to use it up."

"The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is probably my most repurchased product of all time because it is genuinely one of the best, if not the best, moisturizer I have ever used. It's an incredible formula and their entire skincare line is great. It's a little more expensive than your typical Korean skincare product, but worth every penny because all their formulas are science backed, effective, and award winning. [...] I would recommend the Atobarrier 365 Cream."

"This one has become a staple in my routine and I honestly have lost count of how many I've repurchased because I go through them so fast. [...] If you're tuned into the Korean skincare scene, you already know about this moisturizer -- it has absolutely exploded in popularity, and for good reason. I really do feel like this is one of the best moisturizers ever made. You might be thinking it's a moisturizer for really dry skin -- yes, but I love using it overnight. Every single time I use this moisturizer overnight, I wake up with just the most dewy, glowy, healthy-looking skin. It really is incredibly transformative and I will forever love this one. If you're someone who wants all the benefits of La Mer but at a $30 price point, this is the one for you. Absolutely incredible formula that I will recommend in pretty much every video, like I have been for the past year."
My Most Repurchased Korean Skin Care Products 🧴
"If you are looking for an ultra moisturizing, super power packed cream extravaganza, I only discovered this product about a year ago, but when I tell you I've been using it almost every single night, applying it on my body, just going ham with it every single time I use it, I'm not kidding, I love it so much. I've been recommending it in almost every single video since I first discovered it last year. The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. For years, nothing has been able to touch the Skin Fix Triple Barrier Peptide Cream, which continues to be one of my favorites, but I would put this product at the same level. The very first time I tried this one overnight and woke up in the morning to look at my skin, I was just blown away by the results. It really does just completely replenish your skin overnight in a way that I have been able to find only with a select few moisturizers that tend to be pretty expensive. And it's gotten to the point that even just in the last year, I've already repurchased this three or four times. That's how much I use it. I am just absolutely obsessed with this moisturizer. I'm constantly recommending it to people who have more dry skin, people who have eczema. And honestly, I really feel like this moisturizer is on par with the luxury creams on the market, like La Mer, La Prairie, Augustinus Bader. This formula feels luxurious, it delivers the results, but it's not a crazy price point. And as much as I love my lightweight moisturizers, if you are looking for an ultra rich nighttime moisturizer, or if you're someone who has really dry, eczema-prone skin and you want to use something during the day, could not recommend this one more. It will forever be on my skincare shelf."

"The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is scent from the gods. I love this formula. I've purchased so many bottles. One of the best for deeply nourishing the skin without feeling like crazy heavy, but it's still a very rich consistency and amazing if you're wanting a formula that'll get the job done without any added sensitivity or irritation and great to pair alongside a retinoin formula."
The Best & Worst Habits for Healthy Skin!
"The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is an amazing Korean moisturizer that I recently discovered this year. Ever since I first started using this one, I have been obsessed with it. It's such a nice moisturizing experience for overnight that really focuses on restoring your skin barrier health. And trust me, even if you're someone who doesn't necessarily love looking super greasy when you go to bed, it is so worth it in the long run for using these products because not only will it help to make sure that your skin looks better throughout the day, it's also helping to fight long-term damage."
The BEST Skin Care for Dry Skin & Eczema
"The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is your baby, you are going to love this formula. I found it recommended on so many websites and forums as like the miracle product for dry skin and even eczema, and I started introducing this product into my nighttime routine and wow, every single morning I woke up after using this moisturizer I would look in the mirror and be like, who is this diva, my skin looks so refreshed, so hydrated, so bouncy and smooth. It really is such an incredible formula that I haven't even been using for that long but already deserves a spot on this list. The hype is real. Per usual, Korean skincare knows what it's doing and it's a great price point. One thing I do love about this moisturizer is that the formula is very thick and rich but it's not super super heavy like some of the other products. It still has like a nice gel consistency to it, and I think because of the way that it's formulated it really is an ideal product for me to use every single night. Not to mention all the incredible ingredients that it has: it has glycerin, squalane, one of the best oils for really dry and dehydrated skin, ceramides, madecassoside which is an amazing ingredient for helping to heal the skin's barrier as well as reduce redness and sensitivity, panthenol, shea butter, jojoba oil. It's just a stacked ingredient list, really really good. If you're kind of newer to the rich moisturizer experience or you're looking for a good first product to test out on your eczema, I would say this is a great one to test out. Really really solid formula that just blew me away."

The Best Korean Skin Care of 2024!
"Out of all the products that I've mentioned in this video, this is the one that I have used the most and I became the most obsessed with overnight. I discovered this product because it kept coming up in forums and articles that I was reading about Korean skincare, and I was like, you know what, I'm going to give it a try. The first night I used it, I woke up and my skin has never looked better, and I've been using this non-stop every single night and even during the day. It has been years since the last time I discovered a moisturizer that I was this obsessed with. It is so freaking good for me. The proof is in the pudding. Every single time I woke up in the morning after using this one, my skin would just look so hydrated, so plump. I can use it every night and every day and not notice any excess oiliness or greasiness. It's such a nourishing formula but it still has like a nice lightweight gel consistency. It's amazing for pairing with my skincare tools. There's a reason why so many people rave about it for like eczema and dry skin and it's featured in so many forums and articles. It really is that good. I bathe my face in this moisturizer. I just cannot sing enough praises to it. If you're someone who struggles with eczema, dry skin, you want that boost of moisture but you don't want to necessarily be glazed up like a donut or feel like it's super heavy on your skin, you need to try this one out. I will be using this for the rest of my life."
You're Using Tretinoin Wrong (and how to actually get results)
"My Korean skincare obsession, the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. I am constantly recommending this in videos. It does such a good job of really deeply moisturizing your skin without feeling too heavy or greasy, like a thick cream overnight. I use it overnight. If you do have dry skin, I definitely recommend it during the day as well. I've probably purchased about 10 bottles of this and I do not regret it. This is one of my favorite moisturizers of all time."

"This really helped save me during the winter to spring months when my skin was feeling quite dry and irritated. This Korean skin care brand has gotten popular among my viewers and patients, and it's particularly good for those with dry skin, sensitive skin, or anyone who wants to repair their skin barrier any time of year. What stood out to me was the texture, it comes out thick but melts very quickly, so it doesn't linger or feel like it's bothering you. The formula also has ceramides and barrier supporting lipids, which are great for rebuilding the skin barrier if you have eczema or atopic dermatitis. It's so nice and soothing, it's not irritating my skin even when my skin has been raw."

"This is a barrier cream I got in South Korea after a PDRN facial where they analyzed my skin as dry. I use it on my neck whenever it is sensitive, after a chemical peel, or after microneedling, anything that has destroyed the skin barrier. It is like a cream version of an Aquaphor, it really seals everything in, and it is an overnight sensation unlike any barrier cream I've used before."

BEST NIGHTTIME SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR ANTI-AGING, HYDRATION & HYPERPIGMENTATION OVER 30
"This is generally the cream that I like to use at nighttime paired up with tretinoin or other actives because it's very rich, repairing, and moisturizing on the skin, but it's not overly heavy, and it doesn't leave a greasy, sticky finish either to the skin. It actually really is beautiful. This is K-beauty if you're not familiar with the Aestura brand. I'm just going to apply the smallest amount of product, and the reason being is because I've already applied those serums prior to the tretinoin. And because tretinoin is creamy as well, I really don't need additional moisture, but I still like to apply a thin layer of moisturizer just to keep my skin as moisturized as possible and as comfortable as possible. This is fragrance-free. It's great for all skin types and I just really love this with actives. So, if you have dry skin, tight skin, or your skin tends to be a little bit reactive with tretinoin or retinol, this would be a really nice option to use on top of it, or you could do the sandwich technique with this cream along with your tretinoin where you put a layer of this on first, then your tretinoin."
TOP 6 BEST MOISTURIZERS FOR DRY SKIN 2025 | WORKS WITH TRETINOIN, AHA'S + RETINOL
"This is K-beauty and I really love this one a lot. It's great for dry to sensitive skin, but honestly, any skin type could use this. What I really like [...] is the triple lipid beads inside -- it's a complex that has ceramides, cholesterol, and all of the fatty acids that help to nourish and repair the skin. There's also a patented barrier-boosting ceramide blend that actually helps to fill in the gaps of sensitive, dry skin, filling in all those gaps that are lacking hydration and moisture, and it just gives that overall moisture and nourishment to the skin while plumping it at the same time. There are other ingredients like niacinamide, betaine, and glycerin, and so many others to nourish and repair the skin barrier. This one is great for the morning; it sits great with sunscreen and makeup, no peeling, your skin looks so healthy and you get this glow. It's also great to use at night, especially with actives or just on its own. I can see this one being absolutely fabulous for the winter."
BEST KOREAN SKINCARE TRIO FOR ANTI-AGING AND GLOWING SKIN
"If you want something that is thicker, I would definitely recommend trying the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. This is one cream I've been using quite a bit this winter, especially in my evening routine. [...] I have also used it a lot in my morning routine, as it actually sits really nicely underneath sunscreen and makeup, no peeling. It is richer and more moisturizing, and it will leave a glow to your skin, a little bit of a shiny finish. If you don't love that, maybe keep this one for nighttime. It's excellent especially if you are somebody that is acne-prone and deals with post-acne marks, because the '3' means there are three blemish relief ingredients in here: resveratrol, niacinamide, and hibiscus flower extract. There are four nourishing ingredients like ceramides and panthenol, and five soothing ingredients like beta-glucan and centella asiatica. So this is truly great for all skin types and all skin concerns, and it's a really nice one that can be paired up with anything."

This is great for all skin types, but especially for those that have dry, sensitive skin. [...] If you're trying to look for something that will help you get through the winter months, this is going to be it. [...] It provides your skin with so much moisture, but it's lightweight. It's not greasy on the skin whatsoever, but your skin just looks and feels amazing. You do have a glow to your skin as well. This contains triple lipid beads that are jam-packed with cholesterol, fatty acids, and ceramides. There's also a patented barrier boosting ceramide complex, which helps to fill in the moisture gaps of our skin. So [...] this is going to fill in those moisture gaps, giving more of that overall moisture and skin repair. This is absolutely fabulous."

"It's so wet on the surface. If you are concerned about oiliness, probably not going to be for you. If you are concerned about moisturization and really occlusive types of creams to protect your skin through a failing skin barrier, I wouldn't recommend this one. I do think this is a good formula and it will help your skin barrier, but it's a much lighter expression of a barrier cream. I would recommend this for oily folks, combo skin that's leaning more on the oily side, or balanced skin types that like something lighter, dewier, not super heavy, not really oil-based."

BEST and WORST K-Beauty at Sephora PT 1 | Aestura, Beauty of Joseon, Innisfree, Dr. Jart
"The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is a product that really put Aestura on the map and it did unfortunately go through a reformulation in about 2025 and it did significantly change. For me personally, it's not my favorite. The new formula is different, but it is still focused on strengthening up the skin barrier for sensitive or irritated skin. They are using some ceramide content here with lab-made ceramides, so they are not like super recognizable on the ingredients list. Ceramide content is fairly high on the ingredients list and then we also have some ceramide NP content in here. They are using some niacinamide which is a barrier strengthening ingredient. Dimethicone adds a kiss of occlusive to help fight dehydration. The texture here has changed a little bit. It used to be a very traditional medium-weight moisturizer suitable for combo skin that's maybe leaning a little bit more dry. They have lightened up the texture a little bit, added a little bit more of what feels like a wet or humectant, watery kind of content to this cream. It's still kind of medium weight. There is an emollency here, but it does feel more refreshing on the skin and less creamy on the skin."
Barrier Skincare for Sensitive Skin | Aestura Atobarrier 365 Line Review
"The changes here with the Atobarrier cream were pretty significant and it actually made it from one of my favorite moisturizers, you know I named it one of the best of the year, right, one of my favorite moisturizers to something that's just not quite right anymore for my skin. [...] They have used niacinamide in this moisturizer as well as some dimethicone to add a little bit of occlusivity to help seal everything in. The texture here is really interesting because if you just swipe it, not rub but just swipe it really quickly onto your skin, you're going to see all these little white flexs or flakes. These are the [...] encapsulated ceramides, so this is meant to keep those beautiful lipids and ceramides really potent for your skin. I do believe that this technology claims to help deliver it more effectively into the skin. I'm not really sure if that really plays out or if that's just kind of marketing."

No Niacinamide Skincare Picks!
"This is one of my favorite moisturizers because it hits all those different checkpoints for me, especially for combination leaning dry to dry skin. It is focused on barrier care, so something where niacinamide might creep into the formula to fortify your barrier. They've done it without niacinamide. They're actually using biomimetic ceramides, which is a fancy way of saying lamellar ceramides. The biomimetic ceramide doesn't have ceramide in the name, and so it's easy to miss on the ingredients list if you're specifically looking for the word ceramide, but its benefits are actually incredibly similar to Ceramide NP. They've used both ingredients here. They're also using cholesterol and fatty acids, and they're really focusing on getting your skin moisturized, getting your barrier strong, and helping with a little bit of occlusivity to help fight dehydration. I love the texture of this. It is a pretty traditional cream texture, but it's not that type of texture that's really buttery silky. It's more of a plain cream type of texture. I love the way it absorbs into the skin."
The Best Skincare of 2023! 🎉
"I do have to mention the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. This is something I named as a January favorite in 2023. I started using it in December of 2022, but I wasn't quite ready to name it the best of the year because I just hadn't been using it quite long enough. But I have to mention it - this cream is so good. It's barrier supportive. It's got ceramides in it, cholesterol. It's really all about supporting a healthy skin barrier. It has an approach for sensitive skin. It's not including a lot of plant extracts. It doesn't have fragrance or essential oils. It really is a gentle formulation that's really just meant to strengthen your skin barrier. But it's got that beautiful texture. It is the type of moisturizer I would say moisturizes inside of your skin, not on top of your skin. And it actually has this nice, almost neutral finish. It's not mattifying, but it's definitely not shiny at the top. Once I put this on, I just like how it seals everything in. It smooths out my skin in a way that is so nice. Just enough occlusivity to fight dehydration, but not so much that my skin feels like it's suffocating and sealed off, and it's not bordering on too rich."
Highly Concentrated Ceramide Moisturizer?! | Cosrx The Cermide Moisturizer Review
"This cream immediately started to remind me of the Aestura Atobarrier 365 moisturizer which I recently revisited. They reformulated it and it changed quite drastically. It was a cream that had more of that medium density texture, a very traditional cream texture, and they actually changed it to something kind of like a cream gel wet kind of feel to it. And then as it's absorbing it kind of creates that [occlusivity] on the skin but they did it in a way that actually did feel a little like too tacky and sticky for me. They did it in a way that didn't feel like it was settling fully into my skin. Like I was not a big fan of that reformulation."
REFORMULATED! Aestura Atobarrier 365 2024 Review
"The old formulation of the Atobarrier 365 Cream I would have given it a 9 out of 10. [...] It was a cream I really really loved, was so happy to recommend, my skin enjoyed it so much. However, now that it has been reformulated, I've updated my rating to a 6 out of 10. [...] It has lost its specialness, lost a lot of its uniqueness. This does not stand out to me among the many moisturizers I've used. It just kind of falls in the middle, it's getting lost in the pack. It's not unique, it's not special, it's not really standing out in any way. The way that they've reformulated it, it's like a lot of other creams on the market, and it's still pricey at about $30 to $40 for 80 milliliters."

"The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream -- I have been loving this. It's almost empty. I've been using it all fall and all winter. It was a new find during the fall extravaganza when I went in to see what was new at Sephora for skincare. I found this, heard you guys talking about it, and I love it, too. The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is gorgeous. I use it as a hand cream. I use it as a nighttime cream. I'm doing the tria laser and my skin's getting a little bit dry and peely -- this has been perfect. [...] I've been using this as a hand cream [...] and I'm very happy with it, but it's not really designed for a hand cream. [...] I've been putting the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream on top of a retinol hand cream to kind of lock in that moisture."

"I've been struggling with my skin barrier late this year, and the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream was one of two products that really helped bring it back on track. I applied a really light layer of a dermatologist-recommended product and then threw the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream over it. This combination, if you have a broken skin barrier or your skin barrier is compromised, is a winner."

"This is really like a must-have for anyone that has a compromised skin barrier. This barrier cream is lovely because you can use it as a daily moisturizer or when your skin is kind of needing some help. I love that it is nourishing and rich but non-greasy, which is why I think it is great as a daily moisturizer because those who are oily or acne prone, the fact that it is not super greasy and occlusive makes it less likely to feel like it may be clogging your pores. It's fragrance-free, really rich, nourishing, but not greasy or heavy. It's got these encapsulated lipids, ceramides, squalene, cholesterol, fatty acids, and panthenol that really are all important in helping to reestablish that barrier health."

"The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is really their best seller and honestly my favorite. [...] It's a great moisturizer, multitasker -- you can use it as a facial moisturizer, as a body moisturizer, great for the wintertime. One thing I love about this cream [...] is that it is nourishing but not heavy or greasy. [...] The texture is so much lighter and more elegant, especially for those who are more oily or combination and want something nourishing but don't like that heavy feel. This cream is really designed for that. It really helps to support and replenish the ceramides and lipids in our skin with those little tiny capsules. Fragrance-free, non-irritating, and has been clinically tested on eczema-prone and sensitive skin. You can use it as your facial moisturizer to help you tolerate things like retinoids or tranexamic acid."

"This is a must-have for anyone, [...] but especially for those with dry and sensitive skin. It's great at soothing the skin and really reducing irritation if you've got a damaged barrier, but surprisingly light while still nourishing at the same time. It's got the right number of lipids, the triglycerides and fatty acids our skin barrier needs to repair itself: ceramides, squalane, cholesterol, fatty acids, and panthenol. And it's got these little capsules of lipids that you break open as you rub it on your skin. I love it both morning and night, but especially in the morning for those that are really dry. It can be very supportive but doesn't feel heavy at the same time."
Fall PM Skincare Routine with Kbeauty | Dr. Jenny Liu
"For me, especially in the fall and winter, I love a good rich nourishing moisturizer. The one I've really been leaning on, even into late summertime, because my skin with all the traveling I've been doing gets really easily stressed out and irritated and my eczema will flare, is one I'm absolutely obsessed with. I use it regularly, morning and night: the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. If you really struggle with sensitive skin or eczema-prone skin, you really need to check this out. Aestura is the number one most recommended brand by Korean dermatologists. It was founded in a dermatology clinic pharmacy because it made products for sensitive and eczema-prone skin, and that's what you're getting here with this cream. It's got these lipid particles that kind of break open and melt away, and it contains a good ratio of ceramides to lipids that really help to support and restore your skin barrier. I love that it's rich and nourishing, but it's not heavy or sticky; it's actually very fast-absorbing. So even in the morning, if you have dry skin, especially as we transition to fall and winter, I think this would be an amazing moisturizer to better support your skin so your dry skin doesn't feel really tight and dry immediately afterward. I just love all the benefits of this moisturizer, the texture, and the elegance. In fact, even if you're oily-skinned and you live somewhere really cold, I think this would be..."
Dermatologist Favorite Asian Beauty Products of 2024 | Dr. Jenny Liu
"It's really hydrating, lightweight but very supportive of your skin barrier and really ideal for those that have sensitive and dry skin, to use when their skin barrier needs a little help, or to even just use regularly as a moisturizer. This year I've done a ton of traveling and my skin always gets so stressed with that, and this moisturizer has really been a holy grail in my routine just to keep my skin barrier healthy. I love the fact that the texture is really elegant. It's nourishing but lightweight and fast absorbing. It is not heavy, not sticky, not greasy, and really makes a wonderful moisturizer morning and night. And that is why it has been my go-to moisturizer of 2024. Now essentially what it has is these lipid capsules that house ceramides and lipids in there, and these capsules break down as you rub in the product on your face and really help to deliver effectively the lipids to help restore your skin barrier. Ingredient-wise, it contains ceramides and cholesterol, fatty acids, as well as panthenol. All wonderful ingredients that your skin needs to help repair itself and to better support your skin barrier. So if you are like me, who gets sensitive skin frequently, whether it's due to stress, or that time of the month, or you just have sensitive skin at baseline, or rosacea-prone skin, or need something occasionally when your skin freaks out, this would make a wonderful moisturizer. In fact, it is a wonderful one to just use daily as your go-to moisturizer for the winter, especially if you have eczema-prone and dry skin."

"Ingredient wise, aside from the lipids we mentioned, it contains ceramides, glycerin, cholesterol, fatty acid complex, like I said really a good mix or ratio of these ingredients that really is optimized at repairing and replenishing the skin barrier. So I absolutely love this. I essentially use it like a moisturizer. I don't just use it when my skin is damaged, which is certainly one way of using it, but I use it all year round. I use it in my morning routine in my evening routine. So that is also what I love about this product is that it is so multifunctional. You can certainly use it when your skin needs a little TLC or just use it regularly to support and prevent your skin from getting sensitized or sensitive or reduce those eczema breakouts."

"This is rich and nourishing, absorbs so quickly and lightweight. I literally use it morning and night no problem, doesn't cause any heaviness in the morning, doesn't peel under my sunscreen. It is just so lovely and it contains these lipid capsules that breaks down as you massage onto your skin that contains ceramides and lipids as well as panthenol and squalane that really helps to nourish your skin, helps to support your skin barrier. It's fragrance free, it's lovely textured and I really feel like this moisturizer has made a huge difference for my skin. When my skin gets irritated and just needs a little SOS, it's so nice and lovely. Highly recommend checking it out."

Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream (Reformulated) | Holy Grail Or Epic Fail?
"This is a great eye cream as well, also really good on the neck. Neck skin is delicate, and if you do have atopic dermatitis, neck flareups of eczema are not uncommon, so this is a great way to moisturize the neck as well. I [...] have really enjoyed this moisturizer and I think it is very good. I really like it a lot and I see no reason to say avoid this by all means. It's close to $40 depending on where you buy it from for 3 oz, I think that's pretty expensive. [...] If you have atopic dermatitis and you get flareups on your face, I really think this is a great option. If you don't have atopic dermatitis though, [...] it's a good facial moisturizer. I honestly think it'd be a great option for anyone because it is so rich, so thick, so heavy. I think it's especially good for dry winter skincare needs. If you live in a cold climate where the air gets really dry, your skin is a lot more vulnerable to dryness and irritation. If you've been traveling, you know air travel and long plane trips, the dry canned air can aggravate your skin. I think this would be a great moisturizer for air travel purposes, for having in your travel routine as a nighttime moisturizer like in the hotel for example. [...] There's nothing specific about this though that is off the table for people with acne prone skin."

"I reviewed the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream and let me tell you, this moisturizer, never have I had so much worry and concern over reviewing a moisturizer. I got confused about what the ingredients were. I opened it on camera when I was unboxing it and read the ingredients from the box directly, and then I got rid of the box. I was like I'll just look up the ingredients to double check them once I start preparing to review it. When I looked up the ingredients online, I'm like oh cool, there's no niacinamide in this, my audience is going to love that. But had I not checked this, I would have put out a video with completely wrong information in it."

"I found the product to be fine, great. Actually really enjoyed it. However, I did find it to be a bit heavy on the emollient properties, meaning it was a bit shiny and I felt like if you have really oily skin, this might be one where you're like, thanks but no thanks. A lot of people were saying the original formula was less emollient, less shiny. I liked it better."

"This has been a very popular product in the past. I feel like it maybe lost a little bit of its popularity with the rise of other brands, but it is still a great product. This is your brand not only for sensitive dry skin but also for value. If you do not like the price of a pricier serum, this is where to go for affordable skin care even at Sephora, and I love that. It also has a bunch of those capsules in it, and it makes for an amazing application. This has been reformulated, I've seen a lot of mixed feedback on the reformulations, I've tried both, but I personally like the reformulation."

"I finally bought the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream, for strengthening the skin barrier and moisturizing, though I think I bought it so late that it's already been reformulated. Some of you said this is very thick, and you were correct, and as someone with dry skin I do tend to like this kind of product. This is really nourishing, a really rich cream. I see why you all like this. I'm already saying the hype is real on this one."

"This is the Atobarrier 365 Cream, for dry sensitive skin, and it was the number one moisturizer at Olive Young in 2020 out of fifty or seventy moisturizers on the shelf. It says it's for dry sensitive skin but it's actually not super heavy, you can control the amount and use the whole system if you're dry, and there's a lotion version in the same line that's more watery if you find the cream too heavy. I tested it with two other makeup artists and we all gave this the top tier rating, so it's definitely worth trying."

Don’t buy these K-Beauty milky toners & mists! (2026 tournament)
"Estra Cream mist is hydrating, more than just a watery mist, and after a while it still feels like it's there, it lasts a little longer than the others. I like it because compared to Biodance and Haruharu Wonder it feels a lot less like an oily film, so I think this one works pretty universally. This is the ace of the mist. But if I can only buy one, it's definitely the toner over the mist, because the mist is more like a snack while the toner is the main meal."
8 Best Skin Barrier Repair Creams for Damaged, Sensitive & Peeling Skin
"The packaging says it's for dry sensitive skin, but I don't really think so. It's a little smooth to apply, a bit thicker in consistency, but it sinks into the skin really well and isn't a heavy balm. If you have combo skin that gets oily outside but feels tight and dry in winter, you can definitely try this. It's worth trying, but I'm a little skeptical. If your skin barrier is a real emergency right now I think you'd need a product made for dry skin instead. But for everyday use, no problem at all."

If you have dry, sensitive skin, or even if you're oily or combination and not that dry, it still works in winter, so why not. You don't have to put it on your whole face, mainly just the dry areas. It has no scent and contains cholesterol and ceramide, and it just restores your skin, so it's definitely worth it. I've used it for more than five years, and the reformulated version is even better. The older version was much heavier, more like a balm, but the new version is lighter and easier to apply, so the newer version, why not."

Top K-Beauty Products You NEED in 2025! (Tested & Loved)
"The Aestura Atobarrier Cream doesn't show up much in the summer rankings because it's really for dry sensitive skin. It has capsules in it, but once you rub it in it just sinks into your skin. If a gel moisturizer or another affordable product isn't working for you when your skin feels dry, try this, especially if you have thin skin, because a gel type is too light, it evaporates and lets wrinkles show. This one is a lot thicker, it's my go to product, but in summer it feels too heavy, so they also make a lotion in the same line that's a little more watery, you can try that instead in summer."
I Bought EVERY Best Seller at OLIVE YOUNG & TESTED Them Back to Back
"This moisturizer is different from the other two, thicker and more like an oil contained moisturizer, but it still goes in so well. Even if you have oily combo skin, if you're doing makeup your skin needs to be more moisturized and a gel cream isn't enough, so I use this a lot in class, especially in summer. I love this cream in the winter, but it can usually be too heavy for most people in the humid summer. The main ingredient also controls the oil, so try this."
Testing Viral Korean Skincare and Makeup Products - Worth The Hype?
"I'm going to seal everything in with Estra cream, it's so popular. When I was making my video about the best Korean skincare of 2025 I asked so many beauty influencer friends, and Estra definitely works so well for anybody who has really sensitive and dry, super thin skin too. It's worth it. It's a product from Amorepacific, the biggest cosmetic group here in Korea."
ULTIMATE Korean Skincare Routine for each skin type!
"This Estra cream is the only one that survived from last year's set two and three into this year's set three, it was Olive Young's number one last year and is still very popular, so I wanted to recommend something new alongside it too. This one is for dry skin. My friend, a nail instructor in her forties with very thin dry skin, was using La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 as her daily moisturizer but it turned out that was not working for her, she switched to this and said it worked better than B5. The texture is not too heavy and it absorbs pretty well. It has ceramide, cholesterol and fatty acid which your skin needs. For combo oily skin you only need a little amount around the dry zone, and it works well there too."
How To Repair Skin Barrier At Home | Sensitive Skin care with affordable products
"This is a super high ranking, almost number one moisturizer during the winter time. The main ingredients are ceramide, cholesterol and fatty acid, which are the core components of your skin barrier, they come in capsules that melt down when you massage it in. Compared to the other products this one is a lot more of a daily moisturizer, but it still feels a bit oily for oily skin, so except for oily and acne prone skin, I recommend it for the daily moisturizer to also keep your skin barrier."
Global No.1 vs Korea No.1 Skincare: Which is Better and Why?
"Aestura is number one here in Korea and number one on Amazon too, everybody knows it if you're even a little into K-beauty. It's a light gel cream that stretches, though the lid is so big it gets messy as soon as you open it. If you have dry, mature skin, in winter just pass, it doesn't work at all for you. If you have oily or combo skin you have to be able to withstand a sticky formulation, you'll want something fresher. It has small grains in it that melt in quickly when you apply it, just make sure to press it in gently or the grains can remain. It's great to apply before makeup or at night and works well for most people, I've used it for a long time."

"For the face, this one feels a lot better, softer, and spreads well. I tried using it half and half with another cream and this one was a little more moisturizing. I have used it for more than three years, I test so many different products and I feel this one is really effective. It has become so popular, Estra has many different lines and products, but this is the number one repurchase product, definitely worth the hype. If your skin stinks no matter what you do, if it feels like it is breaking out too much, if your skin barrier is damaged, this is the one you should try. It has a little oil in it and an ingredient that helps reconstruct your skin barrier, it contains ceramide, cholesterol, and squalane. You can also try it at night in winter, just do not tap it on too much since it is very thick, make sure to spread it and let it absorb. A few reviews say their pores get a little bumpy after using it, but I do not think that is the product's fault, you can also put it on your neck for a massage since it feels so soft and it is definitely moisturizing well."

"It's great under makeup, which makes it a great daytime moisturizer during the fall and winter. I often use it around my eye area as well, so it's just kind of that one-stop lazy girl moisturizer. During the spring and summer even, I loved using this as an evening moisturizer because there was something about it that was so replenishing and soothing after a day in the sun. By now, you've heard me talk a lot about the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. This was also in my 2024 year-end favorites. It's just become that all-occasion moisturizer for me. Apparently, one is sold every 7 seconds. [...] It's a very comforting creaminess, which to me doesn't feel too rich or too heavy. It uses their patented capsule technology to deliver high-density ceramides to the skin, and in combination with the fatty acids and cholesterol that forms the holy trifecta of preventing transepidermal water loss, so this really helps your skin hold on to hydration and moisture even more effectively."

"At first glance this seems like your no-frills, can't-go-wrong-with-it barrier restore cream, great for sensitive skin, all of that. But what particularly drew me to this is it's focused on ceramides -- all the different types of ceramides and ceramide technology. And like many of the creamy Korean creams, which I tend to have a preference for, the texture is beautiful and feels really nice when you're applying it. It feels comforting on the skin. This also has a really nice, natural, healthy-looking finish -- it's not matte, it's not velvety, but it's also not really glowy. It's just so comfortable. This has some fundamentals for a healthy skin barrier: it's got that lipid complex of ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids. This formula has gone through extensive testing, clinical trials. The R&D on this is by Amore Pacific, so for me there are just not going to be any surprises here. You can't really go wrong."

"Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is a Korean brand that is basically equivalent to the [CeraVe] of Cetaphil of Korea. They have ceramides in them and a triple lipid complex. "This is one of my favorite K-beauty brands that launched last year in Sephora. This is the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream and it is so, so hydrating and easy to use. This is a dermatologist-developed formula that delivers up to 120 hours of hydration. It has this really, really rich texture that's great for [...] sensitive skin or post-treatment skin -- that's because I personally fall under that category and I have a lot of patients who do as well. This brand actually did clinical testing for use of this product after microneedling and found that it helped to reduce visible redness and roughness. The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream contains barrier-boosting ceramide capsules that deliver three different types of ceramides. [...] They have their patented barrier-boosting ceramide blend, which contains high-density ceramides that fill in the moisture gaps in your sensitive skin for hydration. [...] It also has a really cool capsule technology that keeps ceramides in the skin barrier longer for extra hydration. And then it has a unique triple lipid complex -- [...] a ratio of ceramides, fatty acids, and -- I'm just going to squeeze this out for you -- look at that, it's like a whipped marshmallow."

The claim to fame of this moisturizer is that it is very rich in ceramides and ceramides are a lipid that exists within our skin barrier, so when you put on something that is rich in ceramides it helps replenish the skin barrier, it helps support it, it's often very comforting on the skin. [...] When you apply it, it glides on, it's very silky smooth, and then you can really feel it absorbing into the skin. Often I find richer moisturizers can sometimes sit on top of the skin and you're like, well is this absorbing and really doing anything, but this really melts in which is so beautiful. [...] When you look at it there's these little ceramide capsules that are suspended within the cream, and you don't feel them when you rub in, they melt away so seamlessly. [...] This also contains some lightweight silicones which give it that really silky smooth feel on the skin. I [...] think this cream is particularly good for people who have acne who need something that's a bit richer."

"I got the nice gray packaging, the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream. I'm trying to remember if they recently upgraded this formula or not, have to check. I think they might have, or maybe I'm thinking of Purito, but either way, really nice product."

"This one is wonderful. It's got a nice texture, almost like a gel lotion balm texture, and it feels really nice without looking greasy or anything like that, so it makes it really good for daytime. It's great for eczema-related skin or any other skin that's kind of dry or damaged or irritated. It's a little bit on the thick side, but it is really really nice. This one's great for day or night, though I would say it's a little bit better at night because it is a little bit on the shiny side. It's got squalane, phyto-squalane, vitamin E, and allantoin, great skin soothing ingredients. This stuff is well worth checking out, especially during the winter months."

Yay
"This is from Aestura, and it's a 365 and I recently got this from Stylevana and it is so good. It is supremely hydrating on the skin. It's barrier supportive, this feels like butter in a creamy soup, and this is literally meant to both moisturize and to protect the skin. It does kind of leave a little bit of a film on the skin, so if you don't like that it might not be for you, but it's not an oily film. It's more of like a dry touch film that supremely hydrates. I recently found this but I have been in love with it, and I have a feeling that this is going to be one of my staples this winter."

What does $250 Of K Beauty Get You? (Testing New Korean Skincare Bestsellers of 2023)
"I'm so excited about this. This is the Atobarrier. In the evenings after a shower I've been putting a little bit of this on and I just love it. When I was originally getting this I thought that I was going to like this more but we'll see. It has little white specks in it for strengthening the skin barrier and moisturizing, and the moisturizing ingredients in here are insane. This feels like I'm putting Saran wrap on my face. The ingredients in here are like super hydrating, and now it's getting a little more powdery."

"This line is formulated with panthenol and madecassoside, which is from centella extract. People seem to have mixed experiences with this product—some people love it and swear by it, and some it just didn't really work well for. For me, I found that it didn't work as well as Cicapair for things like texture, appealing, and irritation. It feels like it kind of just sits on top of my skin and it doesn't really go down and hydrate as well as I would like. Some people with dry skin have complained that it wasn't as moisturizing as they hoped, but it does seem to work really well for people who have really easily irritated skin. I'm so sorry to the people who love it, but I'm going to put it to meh for people in general because I think there are moisturizers with much higher satisfaction rates. If you think this might work for you, I would definitely recommend trying out a sample."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
