What the gurus are saying

These heavily saturated pads deliver a cooling, sheet-mask-like experience, and gurus found they evened skin tone without drying out over time. They're notably plush and come in bigger sizes with generous refills, the kind of product some kept repurchasing. The toner pad format isn't for everyone, but Abib smartly offers the same essence as liquid or sheet masks for those who prefer them.

"What I really like it and repurchasing many times is the Abib toner pad. This one I like it much more liquid and bigger. So after I put this one at my restroom and then after I shower, I just while drying my hair, I just put it here for the quick sheet mask and still doesn't dry out. So it's great. Using for all skin types, totally recommended and pretty much doing the promotion a lot at Olive Young too."

I Went to Olive Young 191 Times. Buy THIS, Not That.
"My number one toner pad is the Abib toner pad. I really loved it. Whenever they reformulate it, they make it a little bigger and so soft and so cooling. I use it at home and bring it with me, and it's great because whenever you buy it from Olive Young, they give you an extra refill. I love it so much that it's actually hard for me to finish, since I have like thirty different toner pads, but I still make sure to use it up."
My (Very Honest) Viral K-Beauty Review: Hits and Misses
"Abib made a new toner pad and I like it a lot better than their original pad, which had an embossed heart leaf design I didn't like. I just use it before makeup, like a small sheet mask for the skin, and it's great, but if you're expecting it to brighten your skin, not really. One thing I find a little different from other toner pads is that as time goes by, the pad becomes a little lighter in color, and I even like the shape because of the way it curves. It's okay."

"I finished this Abib glutathione toner pad. I like the way Abib divided the pack up between sheet mask options and essence options, but I just don't like toner pads as a format, so I'm not the best judge of them. If you're looking for the best toner pads, you'll have to find a different creator who likes toner pads more."

Ranking ABIB Korean Skincare: BEST to WORST!
"I'm just not a big toner pads person, I understand the appeal but it's not for me personally, so I kind of wish it wasn't pushed on us to the level it is. But I will say I think Abib did this right, they let you know this is just essence in another form, you can buy it as pads or you can buy it as essence, and they even came out with sheet masks in that line, which I'd have loved. I think that kind of transparency is what I like to see."

"The packaging is so cute. I just keep these out in my bathroom and then it has like little applicators inside and you just pick one up and it's soaked in like a serum and you apply it all over. I use this morning and night. I really really loved this one. It has done a good job kind of evening out my skin and brightening things up."

"The Glutathiosome Dark Spot Vita Touch Toner Pads feel very different, they kind of feel gummy with a little bit of texture to them. I would use them to exfoliate. They feel like a very plush cotton. This targets dark spots and uneven skin tone with vitamin C, glutathiosome, and niacinamide along with allantoin, camelia, and cholesterol as well, so you get all these skin brightening and evening ingredients with that soothing and healing skin barrier caring touch. And LHA as well for very gentle exfoliation. There's a lot of essence serum in here, but the thickness of these pads really does hold on to that and keeps it very close to your skin."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Vitamin C

Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant with reasonable evidence for dullness and uneven tone. It breaks down in light and air, so how a product is formulated and packaged matters as much as the percentage on the front.

Source: DermNet

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Source: DermNet

Salicylic acid

Salicylic acid dissolves in oil, so it can get into a pore rather than just working on the surface. That is why it has long-standing evidence for blackheads and milder acne.
