The hall of fame
Dr. Aleksandra Brown's top picks.
The products Dr. Aleksandra Brown has crowned best in their category, and brings up again and again.
My first recommendation is the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. This one restores and strengthens the skin barrier with ceramides. It's not greasy, but it's a really rich formula that gives you long-lasting hydration. I think this is perfect head to toe; I've used it everywhere. The key ingredients are ceramides 1, 3, and 6, which help restore and repair the skin barrier; hyaluronic acid, which helps attract and retain moisture; dimethicone, which conditions the skin and improves softness and flexibility; and petrolatum, which is formulated to relieve dry, flaky, or irritated skin and acts as an occlusive in this formula to help seal all that moisture in.
But if you really want to splurge and you want the gold standard, the most studied vitamin C, you look for Skinceuticals C E Ferulic though that does come with a price.
My recommendation for really sensitive skin is the Vanicream Vitamin C Serum. This is drugstore, affordable, typically used in the morning. You want to apply this on clean skin with sunscreen on top. Vitamin C serums are designed to gently brighten the skin, stimulate collagen production, help your sunscreen work better, help that appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This particular one is formulated with THD ascorbate, which is really stable form of vitamin C. It's really good for that really sensitive, irritation prone skin. It will help enhance the skin barrier strength with ceramides while also offering that antioxidant protection against all the daily environmental UV factors that you encounter. The key ingredient is not your typical eloscorbic acid. It's tetrahexyl desolorbate or THD at 5%. It also contains ceramide and glycerin.
I've gone through multiple bottles of it. As we age, our skin produces fewer lipids leading to weakened barrier that is more prone to moisture loss, irritation, and sensitivity. This one's clinically proven to restore skin's barrier function within 1 hour of application. It also helps improve elasticity and hydration levels by 70% within 4 weeks of use. It can help reduce transepidermal water loss and prevent that dehydration which is going to make it ideal for mature or maturing skin. This formula includes 3% peptide solution with a neutropeptide blend containing hexapeptide 11, algapeptides 1, 2, and 3, which are known for enhancing skin firmness and barrier support. The key ingredients here are the peptides which are the signaling peptides, the triple lipid complex, and hyaluronic acid.
My favorite Peter Thomas Roth Sulfur Mask is really cool. If you are using the mask you're going to want to apply it, let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes, that's how long it takes for it to dry, and then wash it off completely. Don't wipe it off with a washcloth because your washcloth and your entire laundry is going to stink for a hot minute. Rather hop in the shower, wash it off really good, and then use your barrier creams like La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm on top to help heal that barrier.
Morpheus 8 promise a lot and not deliver much. I have personally not seen a lot of patients with good results from Morpheus 8. If you're somebody who needs a lot of tightening, Morpheus 8 isn't going to get it done. That might be a surgical job. But if you're somebody who's just looking to slow things down or maybe prevent those wrinkles from getting deeper, Morpheus 8 might be your thing.
The most popular leave-in oil that I used to use is the Moroccan Oil and it is so much more expensive and I hate it for me because I will do one drop of and no matter how much I spread it that one drop just weighs my hair down because my hair is so so fine.
Head and Shoulders leaves almost like a residue on my roots that bothers me a little bit so this one never gets used Monday through Friday. This one really gets used if I just know I'm going to be at home working out, really not going anywhere, not doing anything. My hair looks just fine with it, it's just how it feels to me.
While effective, these serums have several risks and it is really for every individual to decide if these are the risks that they're willing to take or not. One of the really common side effects are things like irritation and redness. About 4% of users experience redness or itching around the lash line. While this number seems really low, I'm a perfect example of that. I have used the prescription and developed significant itching, redness of the eyelid, and redness of the white part of my eye. I just really could not tolerate it. Another side effect is hyperpigmentation, which is where the skin around the lash line gets darker, though this usually resolves after you stop the serum. Another more serious side effect is things like periorbital fat loss, which is around your eyes. This is very rare but it can be concerning, where fat around the eyes diminishes and can create more of a hollowed appearance, almost makes you look like you're older than your actual age. Another side effect, also really rare but not amazing, is changing the eye color. This is more common in patients with lighter eyes and there's a risk of permanent darkening of the iris.

"My pick here is the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer. It is one of my favorite daytime moisturizers for really mature skin. The reason comes back to your skin barrier weakening with age. Barrier repair becomes one of the most important things you can support every single day. And this Toleriane Double Repair does exactly that. It's built with ceramides, which are the lipids that hold your skin barrier together, alongside niacinamide for barrier reinforcement and anti-inflammatory support. And then you have glycerin for hydration. And of course, the La Roche-Posay signature prebiotic thermal water. What I love is that despite being genuinely nourishing, it's lightweight enough to layer beautifully under sunscreen and makeup, which means you're actually going to use it consistently, and consistency is where you get results. It's especially helpful for mature skin that also runs dry, sensitive, or prone to irritation. This is one of those dependable everyday staples that simply performs."

Skincare for Your 20s: Top Tips from Dermatologist Dr. Aleksandra Brown
"The La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer contains ceramides and niacinamide providing both hydration and skin calming benefits. It absorbs quickly without feeling heavy making it suitable for all skin types including oily and combination skin. It contains ceramide 3 which is a key lipid naturally found in the skin and helps restore and maintain the skin's barrier keeping it healthy and resilient. It also has niacinamide which is a form of vitamin B3 that soothes and reduces redness while strengthening the skin's barrier and improving its tolerance. The glycerin in this ingredient is a humectant that will attract moisture to the skin leaving it hydrated and supple, and of course the La Roche-Posay Prebiotic Thermal Water which is known for its antioxidant properties. This mineral rich water will help soothe and calm sensitive skin."
"Cetaphil Skin Activator stands out from body moisturizers because it goes beyond hydration and it helps specifically support skin's renewal and firmness. Its skin activator technology is designed to encourage healthier cell turnover in those surface skin cells. It's formulated with mandelic acid, which is a type of alpha hydroxy acid that's much gentler than glycolic, but it's still effective for improving texture, and also has encapsulated centella asiatica, which is going to help support your skin barrier. Clinically, this is shown to visibly smooth texture in as little as one week and improve firmness within 4 weeks. For mature skin that's dealing with crepey texture, dryness, loss of elasticity on the neck, chest, body, this is an excellent and genuinely effective option at a drugstore price point."

"My other go-to that I'm reaching for right now for my body is the Cetaphil Skin Activator Hydrating and Firming Cream. This is one of those body creams I reach for when I want something that goes on beyond like the classic hydration. It's really designed to help improve skin firmness and texture over time, which I think is really helpful since body skin can start to feel a little less smooth and resilient at my age. What's interesting about this formula is that it's targeting both surface cell turnover and barrier repair, which naturally slow down over time. So, it's helping the skin function a little more efficiently again. It also has a very wearable texture. It's super easy to use consistently, which is really what makes the biggest difference with body care. The key ingredients here are mandelic acid and capsulated centella asiatica."
"My over-the-counter retinol that I tend to gravitate towards and I'm using a lot lately is SkinBetter Science AlphaRet. I'll use this on the nights where my skin is not quite ready for tretinoin and I want a little exfoliation and I still want the benefits of a retinoid, but I want something that's a little bit better tolerated. This is a combination product that pairs a retinoid with an exfoliating acid, so you're going to get both cell turnover and gentle exfoliation in one step. I find it to be a really nice option when I want results but I don't want to push my skin any more, and especially if I don't want that peeling, dryness, and irritation I sometimes get from tretinoin. The key ingredient is the AlphaRet, which is a unique combination of a retinoid and an AHA, particularly lactic acid. There's also a little bit of glycolic acid for that optimal exfoliation in addition to the retinoid."

"My go-to lately has been the SkinBetter Science AlphaRet Overnight Cream. This contains retinol that's appropriate for even dry sensitive eyes but also has a little bit of AHAs to help increase skin elasticity and help further build collagen. The ingredients in this cream will help firm the skin, minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but also brighten the skin. Some of the key ingredients in here are the AlphaRet technology, which is a combination of retinoid and AHAs, or alpha hydroxy acids, and they work together to help build collagen and firm up the skin under the eyes. Peptide blend will also help increase skin's elasticity. You also find ceramides, squalane, and niacinamide in this eye cream, they'll help soothe but also hydrate the skin, as well as antioxidants."
"This is one of those classic drugstore moisturizers that continues to hold up, especially in your 30s and 40s when you're starting to focus more on firmness and early signs of aging. It's a little bit richer cream, so I like this more for normal to dry skin. What makes this one really stand out is that it's now formulated with a triple collagen peptide complex, which is going to help support your skin structure and improve the look of firmness and smoothness over time. I think this is a great option if your skin is starting to feel a little less firm or if you're noticing more visible lines. The key ingredients here are triple collagen peptides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid."

Drugstore Moisturizers That Actually Work, According to a Dermatologist
"My recommendation for best overall drugstore anti-aging moisturizer is going to be Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. This is one of the most widely used anti-aging moisturizers available at the drugstore, and it contains ingredients that help support hydration and collagen production. It improves hydration and skin elasticity. It also helps smooth the appearance of fine lines. It has really rich texture that still absorbs pretty well. It's really good option for normal and dry skin, and it comes in both fragrance and fragrance-free version. The key ingredients are collagen peptide, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and amino peptide."

All 9 takes on Moisturizing Cream
Best Drugstore Products for Eczema That Actually Work | Dermatologist-Approved
"The first one hands down has to be the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's super rich, non-greasy, fast absorbing, with three essential ceramides that lock in the skin's moisture and help maintain the skin's protective barrier. There's zero fragrance whatsoever. It helps hydrate and restore the barrier with a mix of ceramides and hyaluronic acid. It restores essential ceramides that eczema-prone skin lacks, and it hydrates so deeply and reduces the itch and irritation, as long as you use it consistently and apply it immediately after the shower. I think it's great for body, legs, arms, really anywhere prone to flares. My non-acne-prone kid, I have him use this on his face as well, because he is just that dry and lotion just doesn't get the job done. The key ingredients are ceramides 1, 3, 6, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin."

Save vs Splurge: Dermatologist-Approved Skincare Picks That Are Actually Worth It
"My recommendation here is going to be your CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's only like 15 bucks for a giant jar. It's only about 3 cents per ml. That is like dirt cheap. And this stuff, you can use it head to toe, literally face, neck, all the way down to your toes. I love it immediately after shower on damp skin regardless of the body part. This cream is amazing. It's good at hydrating and restoring that barrier. It has really good mix of ceramides and hyaluronic acid. It is rich, non-greasy, fast absorbing moisturizer with those three essential ceramides that lock in your skin's moisture and help maintain the skin protective barrier. The key ingredients are the ceramides 1, 3, and 6, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin. The CeraVe has very similar lipid profile at a fraction of the price. It's a little bit heavier, a little bit less lux feeling than some competitors, but the versatility of this cream, it is out of this world. From newborns to elderly, head to toe, no fragrance whatsoever, no irritation, and replaces your lipids and ceramides. I'm going to go ahead and say this is a no-brainer."

"My first recommendation in this category is definitely CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. This is not just for face. This is for your whole body. Comes in a giant jar. Has zero scent whatsoever. It replenishes those lost ceramides which decline with age and lead to dryness and irritation. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream can also help strengthen the skin barrier helping protect against those external aggressors. It hydrates really really nice. It doesn't feel greasy, absorbs pretty quick. I think it's appropriate for morning and evening face, neck, chest, really like your entire body. The key ingredients in this one are the ceramides, hyaluronic acid, the methylone, and prolotum."

It will also help strengthen that skin barrier helping to protect against any external aggressors. It will hydrate deeply without feeling greasy making it suitable for both daytime and nighttime use. The key ingredients here are the ceramides, hyaluronic acid, dimethicone and it does have a little bit of prolamin."
"I love this stuff. It's a rich, creamy balm that calms and hydrates without feeling sticky or greasy. We've used it in my family on shingles, on really irritated skin, scrapes, face, and anywhere on the body. It helps strengthen the moisture barrier and reduces any visible irritation. I like it in the PM. I think it's a little too thick for the morning, but if you do want to use it then, apply a very light moisturizer underneath, then a small layer of La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5, and then your sunscreen. That's going to help repair your skin barrier under your SPF while you're out. It really helps hydrate and soothe the barrier. The key ingredients are panthenol (vitamin B5), madecassoside, shea butter, glycerin, and methylone."

"This one's great morning or evening. It's a super rich, creamy balm. Calms and hydrates without feeling sticky or greasy. I love it on my nonactive nights like no retinol, no exfoliating acid. If I'm just taking a night off and repairing my barrier, I will do a moisturizer and then this on top. It helps strengthen the moisture barrier and reduces any visible irritation. It's for me like I said, final step in the PM routine. But if you're really dry, you can totally use this in the morning under your SPF. If your skin is like red and flaky or stinging, if you find that any moisturizer stings, this one's not going to. The key ingredients here are panthenol or vitamin B5. Also has medicide and shea butter."

"The Cicaplast Baume B5 is a multi-purpose soothing balm that hydrates, calms dry, irritated skin on face, lips, body, hands. It's really safe for any sensitive skin and babies all the way down to 4 months. It's dermatologist and allergy tested, completely fragrance and paraben-free. The key ingredients are panthenol, which is vitamin B5, designed to soothe and moisturize rough and irritated skin. It also contains shea butter and glycerin, which provide rich hydration and help restore the skin's moisture barrier. Other ingredients like medicaside, copper, zinc, and manganese all aid in repairing and reducing irritation. It also has La Roche-Posay thermal spring water. We have used this interchangeably with another product in my household and we are just about on our last bottle here finishing it and will be due for restock."
Periorificial Dermatitis: Causes, Treatments & How to Get Rid of It Fast | Dermatologist Explains
"My favorite by far recommendation in this category that I have used myself many times is the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5. This is really fast absorbing, non-greasy balm that reinforces the skin barrier while calming inflammation. It's soothing because of panthenol which supports the skin repair while also has shea butter and glycerin which will provide lightweight hydration without clogging our pores. The addition of copper and zinc in here help prevent bacterial overgrowth which can worsen peroral dermatitis."
"My next recommendation is the Avène Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream. I love this for any sort of irritated barrier. This is my go-to. It's a really rich, somewhat occlusive repair cream that helps soothe irritation, reduce redness, and support skin recovery. It was originally actually formulated for post-procedure care. So it's perfect when your skin barrier needs complete reset. I have recommended it for overexfoliated skin, irritated, flaky skin, retinol irritation. We've even used it on shingles in the family when that became an issue. It's perfect during winter or dry indoor heating. You can use it on your face. It's great on your lips. You can put it on damp lips and put product on top. I can't really think of a place where you can't use this product. My favorite way to use it is at night time on top of a light moisturizer or underneath a moisturizer, or if you want to use it in the morning, you just need to use it sparingly because it can be a little bit thick if you apply too much. But if you apply a really thin layer of it underneath your sunscreen in the morning on irritated skin, it really helps repair your barrier throughout the day under your SPF. The key ingredients here are the copper zinc sulfate complex and the Avène thermal spring water."

"I love it. It's a really rich occlusive repair cream to help soothe irritation, reduce redness, and support skin recovery. It was originally formulated as like a post-procedure care. So it's perfect when your skin barrier really needs to be reset. If you've done microneedling or something like that or you've irritated the hell out of your skin and the area around your nose is so irritated, it will fix it. So it's perfect for that really overexfoliated post-procedure irritated flaking skin or during winter or if your heat is just running in the house and you've got dry cracked corners around your mouth, around your nose, it will fix that. I love using this at night on top of the moisturizer. By itself it's okay, but I prefer moisturizer underneath and then this on top. It repairs the barrier but also is a little bit thick so it helps seal in that moisturizer that you applied underneath. The key ingredients in this one are the copper zinc sulfate complex and the Avène thermal spring water."

It's formulated with ceramides to repair and strengthen the skin barrier. I think it's great for eczema prone skin, cracked lips, cracked heels, really cuticles, anything cracked. It's not going to burn your skin. It is lanoline free and fragrance free, making it a really safe choice for even the most sensitive skin. The key ingredients are petrolatum to help seal in moisture and protect the skin barrier, ceramides which help restore the skin barrier and prevent moisture loss, as well as hyaluronic acid that will hydrate and improve skin texture."

"If your skin is extra dry and you just don't feel like after you apply this moisturizer on it's enough, consider applying a coat of petrolatum on top. These are things like Vaseline, Aquaphor, or CeraVe Healing Ointment, and Aquaphor even comes in a spray bottle that you can put directly on top of that cream to provide extra protection. It's sealing in that moisture and preventing epidermal water loss."
"Aquaphor Healing Ointment is a petroleum-based ointment with added humectants for hydration and barrier repair. It has a lightweight texture, absorbs easily without a sticky feel. It contains panthenol, which is B5, and glycerin to soothe and protect. One note: Aquaphor does contain lanoline or lanoline alcohol, which is a derivative of lanoline. While it's safe for most people, a small percentage of the population will have sensitivity or even allergy to lanoline. So if you're using something like this and you're having a reaction, it could be that you're sensitive to the lanoline."

"Vanicream Moisturizing Cream is really one of my top recommendations for super sensitive skin because it does the best job at avoiding the most common irritants and allergens. It's completely fragrance free, dye free, paraben free, lanoline free, which makes it ideal for patients who react to some of the other moisturizers. The texture is rich but not greasy and it moisturizes without stinging that inflamed or cracked skin. It's really safe for all ages, works really well for both daily maintenance, but also during your eczema flares. It's proven to hydrate for up to 48 hours and fully restores skin moisture barrier, and it's specifically formulated with a dermatologist backed blend of niacinamide or vitamin B3, panthenol which is your vitamin B5, and then hydrating glycerin to improve the resilience of sensitive skin."

"The Cetaphil cream is a little bit thicker and a little bit more hydrating. If your skin is more on the dry side or in the winter months, cream is a little bit better option. The Cetaphil cream applies really nice, it does not have any smell to it, it spreads super easy, and you can put your clothes on pretty quick. It's not sticky at all."
"I'm borderline obsessed with this. I do find that it's ideal for the warmer months thanks to its really lightweight oil-free formula or if you're somebody who has like combination oily skin. This Tatcha Water Cream is just pure perfection. It delivers that boost of hydration without clogging pores. It's really good for oily, combination, even acne prone skin. It helps balance the skin and helps control excess oil, but also hydrates at the same time. You don't end up with like that tight, flaky skin. It absorbs super quick, leaves your skin fresh, dewy, not greasy. I put it on top of my vitamin C, let it dry, and then SPF goes on top. So, if you find that maybe you're using SPF on top of moisturizer, your SPF's rolling off, maybe you don't have the right moisturizer, this one's like perfect underneath your SPF or makeup spring, summer, or even like all year if you have oily skin. "Some of the common prescription brands for generic tretinoin are things like Alrino lotion. This is the 0.05%. It's a little bit newer hydrating formula. Really well tolerated. I do have this prescription. I like it. It spreads really nice."
"I have personally been using the estriol cream from Alloy. I also have their peptide serum and then I also have the estriol cream from my local pharmacy that was compounded for me. And just to please all of you who use your vaginal cream, I went ahead and filled the prescription for myself for that to put on my face and I have applied them all to my face."
"The drunk elephant proteini polyeptide cream combines multiple signal peptides with moisturizing amino acids and growth factors for improved texture, tone, and firmness. It's really lightweight, more like a gel cream texture that absorbs really quick. It's suitable for most skin types. It offers that immediate hydration and that bouncy feel which improves firmness over time. The key ingredients are the signal peptide complex which has nine signal peptides for collagen support, pygmy water lily stem cell extract, and soybean folic acid ferment."
"My next recommendation for moisturizer is Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer. This is more of a gel cream formula. It's going to have this cooling, calming sensation, and it's going to help that irritated skin. It uses oat and feverfew to soothe and restore the moisture balance. It's really best for really inflamed, red or post-treatment skin. The key ingredients are oat extract, feverfew, and glycerin."
"My number one recommendation by far here is the Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer. It is the simplest, most barrier friendly moisturizer you're going to find out there. It is fragrance-free, lightweight, non-comedogenic. It's ideal if your skin feels dry, tight, or irritated from any sort of other treatments or actives you're doing. "This one's just a little bit thicker. It instantly soothes any stinging, tightness, and heat that's associated with any sort of barrier disruption. So, if your barrier is very, very compromised, this one's probably a little bit better option. The Avène helps rebuild a weakened skin barrier, which is often seen during these hormonal shifts, and it will do that in as little as 48 hours. It will also support that skin microbiome which plays a bigger role in skin health especially after your 40s. The key ingredient here is the Avensos. It's a postbiotic ingredient that calms that super sensitive skin by targeting the sensory nerve endings as well as the Avène thermal spring water. It has some squalane, shea butter and other soothing ingredients to keep that barrier intact throughout the day."
"If your skin is really sensitive and you prefer a gentle approach, the Avène RetrinAL 0.1% Intensive Cream uses retinaldehyde, which is a little bit more potent but gentler alternative to retinol. It will still boost collagen production while reducing signs of sun damage. It's less irritating than the prescription retinoids, making it really good option for sensitive skin. The active ingredients are the retinaldehyde and tocopheryl, which is vitamin E derivative, an antioxidant that protects the skin from free radical damage. It also contains a little bit of hyaluronic acid to help with that dryness."
"I love love love the CeraVe SA Cream for Rough and Bumpy Skin. I do particularly like the cream over the lotion. It does a really good job at exfoliating and hydrating at the same time without irritating the sensitive KP skin. Salicylic acid helps unclog follicles, reducing bumpy texture. This cream is completely fragrance-free and non-irritating, which makes it really good for sensitive skin. The key ingredient is the salicylic acid, but it also contains a little bit of lactic acid and of course the ceramides. If you don't like the consistency, the thickness, or the jar of the SA cream, it also comes in the SA lotion, which is a more lightweight alternative compared to the SA cream and a little bit easier to spread, especially if you're going to use it on large body surface areas like your whole arms and legs."

"Triple Paste Diaper Rash Cream is more of a thicker zinc based cream that acts as a protective barrier to prevent moisture irritation while promoting healing. It's soothing because of the nonnano zinc oxide which calms inflammation and oat extract which helps reduce redness and sensitivity. The glycerin and beeswax in here also add a little nourishing effect while keeping the formula rather breathable."
"I love sulfur. I use it for my blackheads, for my pores, for oil control, for acne, for fungal acne, for periorificial dermatitis. Sulfur-based treatments tend to calm down inflammation. They are also a little bit better than acid in my opinion at fighting some of the bacteria and fungi that we grow on our skin. The De La Cruz Sulfur Ointment is a good product recommendation."

It's sealing in that moisture and preventing epidermal water loss."

How To Clear Acne: Best Nighttime Skincare Products for Acne 🙌
"The gold standard in treatment of acne is topical retinoid, so these are things like retinol, retinal, tretinoin, or adapalene. Adapalene 0.1% gel used to be prescription and now it's over the counter. This type of retinoid works in acne receptors, they're specific to acne, not so much aging, but specifically to acne. While we typically recommend retinoids be used in the evening, adapalene gel is an exception because you can use it twice a day. After you've washed your face, dried it completely, applied your pimple patches to spot treat your active lesions, you are going to apply your adapalene gel next. A pea-size amount of adapalene gel is plenty to cover your entire face, and once you've applied it, you can moisturize on top of it. I would allow it to completely dry, this can take anywhere from one to two minutes. I can actually use it twice a day even in the morning with no increased oiliness whatsoever."

"When patients come with contact dermatitis under their arms I will prescribe a steroid cream and you can use hydrocortisone over the counter twice a day for one to two weeks but you need to stop your anti-perspirant and or deodorant for the entire duration of the treatment or else the rash is going to keep coming back."

"Plain CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion will get the job done. What you're trying to do is just create that barrier between the tretinoin and fresh washed skin so it creates less irritation. You're really not diluting your tretinoin here, okay, it's still going to work."

"Rhode Barrier Restore Cream is going to protect her barrier in case she has any dry patches or anything like that and seal all that in just for that perfect makeup application. I always like to do a more rich cream when I'm going to get my makeup done. There's really no other vitamin C on the market with as much clinical studies and research behind it as there is with Skinceuticals. "This is the gold standard. If you don't think your skin is sensitive, I would start here. It's the most clinically studied. It works really quick. It targets everything from dullness to collagen loss. This one's the most often recommended by dermatologists because it has the most studies behind it. It's worth the splurge. It combines the vitamin C, a little bit of vitamin E, and ferulic acid. Therefore, it's like a potent powerhouse of antioxidants. It's really lightweight. It does have a stinky smell. If you're sensitive to smell, it might be a tough one. But if you're not, I would splurge and go through a bottle and see what you think. It's a pretty powerful antioxidant, protects against environmental damage, UV rays. It helps minimize some of the hyperpigmentation. It will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. You do need to use it with sunscreen on top. You may want to even moisturize in between your vitamin C and sunscreen. But with consistent use, you will notice improvement in your skin. The key ingredients are 15% l-ascorbic acid, which is your vitamin C. It has 1% vitamin E, 0.5% ferulic acid."

It has 15% L ascorbic acid, and some people with rosacea don't respond well to L ascorbic acid, so that's something to watch out for. My skin is very sensitive and this is 15% L ascorbic acid, it has not irritated my skin at all or my eyes, and I do get it all the way to my under eyes. "Sunday Riley B3 Nice 10% Niacinamide Serum is really nice. I finished the whole bottle myself, though it can be spicy if you have really sensitive skin. I couldn't tolerate it more than like three nights a week."
"It punches well above its price point. For context, this is often compared to Skinceuticals C.E. Ferulic, which retails for around $180. The Prequel Lucent-C offers very similar core antioxidant benefits for around $23. That's a really big difference. And in my experience, it layers beautifully into your daily routine without feeling heavy or sticky. It doesn't cause irritation for most people. For mature skin dealing with sun damage, dark spots, loss of radiance, this is one of those best affordable options out there. Personally, I also love that it comes in a pump. And it doesn't smell like hot dog water like the expensive version of it. The key ingredient here is the 15% ascorbic acid, ferulic acid, and niacinamide."

"The Prequel Lucent C Vitamin C serum, which is 15% L-ascorbic acid, provides really potent brightening effects, antioxidant protection, at a really affordable price. It can help minimize the appearance of dark spots, boost your skin's natural radiance, improve overall skin tone. I think it's suitable for daily use. It's more suitable for like your normal to combination oily skin type. If your skin is really, really sensitive or super duper dry, this one can be a little spicy because it is the original L-ascorbic acid. It's a very affordable option. The key ingredient is L-ascorbic acid 15%. Also contains ferulic acid and niacinamide."

"I tend to alternate this last time you saw me using Prequel Lucent-C Vitamin C and I love it. If you have really dry skin or a budget friendly option might be Prequel's Lucency. The key ingredients in this one are 2% flutin, it's derived from apples and the bark of fruit trees like pear and grapefruit. The flutin helps neutralize damaging free radicals, aids in cell turnover and improves the appearance of discoloration. This also has 10% pure vitamin C, which is L-ascorbic acid. This is a very potent antioxidant. It protects against oxidative stress, brightens the skin, provides visible anti-aging benefits."

"It delivers the same brightening antioxidant protection with the same concentration of 50% of the same active ascorbic acid. It is clinically proven to increase radiance and luminance after 4 weeks. 90% of subjects in this study agreed that their skin looked less dull. It comes in a pump and a dark container and I absolutely prefer the packaging of Lucent C over other options. If you are more worried about it spilling or you're just starting and you really want something that's more budget friendly, Lucent C is pretty darn good. When it comes to packaging, Lucent C wins hands down. The key ingredients in the Prequel Lucent C are the ascorbic acid, also has ferulic acid and niacinamide. If you're somebody who's new to this category and budget is a very important to you, I would definitely start with the Lucent C from Prequel. It has the same pure form of vitamin C, same strength, but without the luxury price tag."
"The Olay Super Serum is like this 5-in-one formula that targets several concerns, which is going to be your uneven texture, your dullness, your loss of firmness, those fine lines, dehydration, like all of it in this one step. What makes it work is the combination of ingredients. So you have things like niacinamide for barrier support and a little bit of brightening. Vitamin C for brightening, that antioxidant protection and tone correction. Then you also have some collagen peptides for firmness. Vitamin E for that additional antioxidant coverage. And then some lactic acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid to help gently encourage the cell turnover. That lactic acid component is worth highlighting specifically for that mature skin. It's one of the mildest AHAs, but it does real work in improving texture and radiance without the irritation you would get from stronger exfoliants. This is a really smart, well-formulated serum that layers really easy under moisturizer and sunscreen for anyone who wants noticeable improvement without managing a full multi-step routine. This is a genuinely practical option for everyday."

The Best Drugstore Skincare for Mature Skin, According to a Derm
"The best all-in-one serum is going to be your Olay Super Serum. This is a multitasking 5-in-1 facial serum that's designed to simplify mature skin routine while still delivering visible results. It targets several common concerns all at the same time, including things like uneven texture, dullness, loss of firmness, fine lines, and dehydration. I like this option for mature skin that wants noticeable improvement without layering multiple serums. It has really lightweight texture. It absorbs really quickly. Works really well under moisturizer, under your sunscreen, making it a really practical everyday option. Being that it's targeting multiple things, it's kind of like jack of all trades. So the results are not going to be fast, but just make sure you give it time. I would give this probably 3 months to start seeing improvement before moving on to something else. The key ingredients are going to be the niacinamide, vitamin C, collagen peptide, vitamin E, and lactic acid or AHA."

"Naturium Vitamin C Complex Serum delivers that brightening antioxidant protection with a blend of multiple stabilized vitamin C derivatives, making it a little bit gentler than pure L-ascorbic acid. But this one's still effective. It's going to help even out dull, uneven skin tone, support that collagen production, which is going to be ideal for that 40s and going into menopause skin that has lost some of its glow. I think it's perfect for your everyday vitamin C, especially if you have sensitive or redness-prone skin that can't tolerate the OG L-ascorbic acid serums. "This one is a bio-engineered, vegan, biotech powered growth factor serum that's designed to support firmness, texture, and overall skin quality without using any human derived growth factors. It's also clinically proven to outperform the leading human growth factor serum that retails for $295. By far, this is the cheapest option on the list. "I really like the La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 or even the V2 mineral 89. You want to apply it directly to damp lips. You don't want to put it on completely dry lips, okay? Because hyaluronic acid by itself doesn't really moisturize. It pulls the moisture. So you want to make sure that you're one drinking lots of water, two your lips are just a little bit damp and then you apply your hyaluronic acid and immediately after applying that hyaluronic acid you want to put your occlusive on. So this is your Vaseline, your Aquaphor or your CeraVe healing ointment. So what you're doing is you have the moisture on the skin, okay? The water that you've applied, the water that you've drank, both of those preferably, and then the hyaluronic acid, which is like that sponge that's going to pull the water up to the top of the skin cells and the top of your lips. And then you have the occlusive ointment on top. It is perfect to soften that dry skin on top and rehydrate your lips."

"This is Finacea Gel. The active ingredient is 15% azelaic acid. This is in United States at least only available by prescription. Also comes as a foam. Foam tends to be a little bit less irritating and better for more sensitive skin. That being said, the gel we can get in the generic form now, so it's easier to get covered by insurance. This percentage of azelaic acid is backed by multiple randomized control trials for rosacea. In these randomized control trials, which are like the big studies, it demonstrated significant improvement in things like redness and inflammatory lesions within 12 weeks. Now, make a note 12 weeks is not very fast, so works pretty slow, but it works well. The key ingredients in the gel is azelaic acid 15% which is the clinically proven anti-inflammatory and pigment reducing compound."
"The Naturium Azelaic Acid Emulsion 10% is more of an emulsion than a serum. So it's going to feel a little bit more like a moisturizer. It still targets the redness, the breakouts, the pigment. It supports the barrier health. It's gentle enough for daily use even on the most sensitive and redness prone skin. It's therefore one of the best entry points for those new to azelaic acid. It contains azelaic acid, niacinamide, and vitamin E."
"The Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum is really lightweight, almost like a honeylike serum designed to soothe irritation while adding nice glow. It's very beneficial for sensitive or reactive skin thanks to its calming and barrier supporting formula. It has a high concentration up to 60% of propolis extract, which is a resin-like material made by bees with really strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. So it's going to help with redness, breakouts, and dullness, but it's also going to gently even out the skin tone. The key ingredients are propolis extract at 60%, niacinamide at only 2% so good for sensitive skin, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin to help support and nourish the skin while niacinamide does its job."
"This is probably by far my favorite one in the category. I've used this since they switched in and added the melisil and I've really liked it. It really targets the dark spots, the melasma, the post acne marks, but it was still gentle enough for my rosacea skin. The niacinamide in here is going to help strengthen the barrier and calm the irritation which is going to make it suitable for daily use even for somebody with rosacea like me. What's really cool about it is that it has this patented melisil technology that's going to help prevent new pigment from forming. So you're combining the melisil with the niacinamide. It's really like a perfect match made in heaven. If you suffer from sensitive, acne prone, and pigment skin, this one's really a good one to try. It's suitable for daily use even on sensitive skin, and it's going to go really well underneath the sunscreen. The serums are a little bit thicker, but they layer really nicely even underneath the lightest sunscreen. The key ingredients here are niacinamide 10%, the melonic acid, and of course the La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water."
"This is a concentrated booster designed to mix into your moisturizer or apply alone if you have really, really tolerant skin. It targets uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, dullness. It has a really lightweight formula. It adds flexibility to any routine. It layers easily with other actives. It really pairs well with retinoids, especially if you're going to add it to a moisturizer. It pairs well with antioxidants. So it's a great option for either morning or evening routine. The key ingredients are the niacinamide 10%, licorice root extract, and panthenol."
"I've gone through multiple bottles of it. I have used it at night time as part of my retinol sandwich method, but it's appropriate for twice daily use. "My recommendation for really sensitive skin is the Vanicream Vitamin C Serum. It also contains ceramide and glycerin."

"My recommendation for vitamin C, especially if you have rosacea, sensitive skin, or if you're a beginner, is Vanicream Vitamin C Serum. This one's designed for sensitive skin. It's a stable vitamin C serum that brightens the complexion without any irritation. It will help prevent that oxidative damage that can worsen rosacea symptoms. It is super lightweight, non-greasy, absorbs really easily. The key ingredient is Tetra hexyl ascorbate, or THD, 5%, which is a lipid-soluble form of vitamin C that penetrates deeply, promoting collagen synthesis and providing antioxidant benefits. It's gentle, stable, not acidic, so it's ideal for really sensitive rosacea skin. It also contains ceramides which will help reinforce the skin's natural barrier, locking in that moisture and protecting against external irritants. It has glycerin which draws moisture into the skin, ensuring it remains hydrated, soft, and smooth."

"If your skin is really sensitive, I would recommend starting with Vanicream Vitamin C. This is only about $20. The active ingredient in this one is tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or THD ascorbate 5%. This is the gentlest form of vitamin C that will not irritate even the most sensitive skin. This is a lipid soluble vitamin C that will penetrate deep into the pores. It will provide antioxidant benefits, stimulate collagen synthesis, it is highly stable and non-acidic, so it is appropriate for even the most sensitive skin types. The Vanicream Vitamin C also contains some ceramides which will help restore a natural barrier and lock in the moisture, as well as glycerin which will draw moisture into the skin and plump the skin a little bit."

Also enhances the skin barrier strength with ceramides and offers antioxidant protection from the THD ascorbate. The key ingredient is tetrahexyl ascorbate or THD at 5%. It has ceramides and glycerin. It's super lightweight, non-irritating, specifically designed to defend against the five signs of skin sensitivity, which is your dryness, irritation, roughness, tightness, and weakened skin barrier. It's also clinically tested on sensitive skin. The key ingredients here are the ceramide and pikamperamide and allantoine."
"SkinBetter Alto Advanced Defense and Repair Serum is an advanced serum that offers comprehensive antioxidant protection by defending the skin from both external environmental stressors but also internal oxidative damage. Unlike traditional vitamin C serums, this one has 19 antioxidants including vitamin C, vitamin E, and a proprietary botanical blend to help brighten skin, reduce oxidative damage, and reduce redness in clinical studies, ultimately improving overall skin texture. The key ingredient is the Alo PQQ, which is a potent antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals from environmental stress. The vitamin C in here is tetrahexylascorbate. I love this one. It comes out of the bottle a little bit darker because it contains this powerful antioxidant blend. I treat a lot of rosacea patients and do a lot of pulsed-style laser, and all of my pulsed-style laser patients are encouraged to start vitamin C and sunscreen. I very often hear 'I cannot tolerate vitamin C,' and I have them start SkinBetter Alto Advanced and they do just fine. The key ingredients here are L-PQQ, a potent antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals from internal processes. It contains vitamin C, but this is a different type of vitamin C: THD or tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. This type of vitamin C tends to be less irritating on really sensitive rosacea skin. Vitamin C and E in this compound are powerful antioxidants that protect against sun-induced damage and they can be less irritating than your traditional ascorbic acid type of vitamin C. The SkinBetter Alto Advanced also contains plankton extract and micrococcus lysate, which helps repair photodamage and promote skin recovery. It also has niacinamide, which helps support skin hydration and improves clarity, and there's also licorice extract which will naturally brighten your skin."

It is tinted, it's very tinted, so I don't know that if you have super fair skin that you would love the look of this, but honestly it blends in really nice. You use very little. "Polish Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster helps reduce redness and inflammation while brightening the skin. It has a really lightweight gel texture that layers well with other products. It also contains salicylic acid for that really mild exfoliation and to help unclog pores. The key ingredient is azelaic acid 10% which will visibly clarify uneven skin tone and brighten and start spots and fade some of those post-acne marks. It also contains salicylic acid or BHA at 0.5% concentration, which will penetrate into the pores to help smooth that bumpy texture, and it has licorice root extract which will calm the redness and soothe signs of sensitivity and visibly brighten the skin."

"opt for normal things like hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and plump your skin, vitamin C and antioxidant to help fight free radicals and keep your skin protecting from UV light, sunscreen every morning and retinol at night. Those products will get you so much further."
"If your skin is either a combination or oily or you suffer from hyperpigmentation glycolic acid is going to be your jam. Exfoliating acids in my opinion are best used at bedtime because your exfoliating acid is going to take off that top layer of the skin, and the new layer skin that's underneath is very prone to sunburn and sensitivity so making sure that it's properly protected especially with your sunscreen in morning it's going to be extremely important."
"Vitamin C helps decrease the signs of aging and helps brighten the dark spots. It increases potent of your sunscreen by up to eight times and it does this by preventing the free radical formation that we get from the UV light, therefore helping the sunscreen work better. So not only are you going to slow down the aging process of fine lines and wrinkles, you're also going to brighten your brown spots by using vitamin C underneath your sunscreen in the mornings. Vitamin C is extremely important in my opinion to be used, and while you can use it twice a day, in the morning is a must. The best benefit of vitamin C will be seen by applying it in the mornings. Vitamin C should be applied in the morning to dry clean skin, and making sure that your skin is dry before you apply vitamin C is extremely important, especially if your skin is sensitive, because when your skin is a little bit damp from moisture it's more prone to irritation."

"Oil-based does break down the makeup, true, and every hotel with a kitchen has olive oil so it just makes it so super easy. I just order up a little bit of olive oil and I'm off. But if you have any sort of acne breakouts, olive oil on your face is a terrible idea."
"I'm currently using the Anua azelaic acid 10%. It's one of the most elegant formulations for that super sensitive redness prone skin. "It contains 10% azelaic acid along with multiple forms of hyaluronic acid for hydration and panthenol and ceramides to support the skin barrier. The texture is lightweight, watery, which is different from many azelaic acid products that can feel heavy, sometimes chalky. It's suitable for acne prone and sensitive skin. This is the exact type of formula I recommend when someone wants acne control without compromising their skin barrier."

"One of my favorite cleansers for mature skin is the Prequel cleanser. It's built with 50% glycerin, which is one of the most effective humectants in skincare, meaning it's going to draw water into the skin and keep it there. It also contains inulin, which is a prebiotic that helps support a healthy skin microbiome, and arginine, which is an amino acid that helps protect and repair the skin barrier while also cleansing. The result is a formula that removes makeup, excess oil, and impurities while also leaving your skin actively soft, comfortable, and balanced. Never tight, not stripped, not dry. "CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser provides that gentle exfoliation without any harsh micro beads. There's no physical scrubbing whatsoever. It's going to combine your salicylic acid but also the ceramides. If you're somebody who has sensitive skin this is a really good one to start with. Ceramides are like these fatty acids in your skin that will help keep your skin nice and hydrated. Not only will this cleanser exfoliate the top layer of the skin to help open up the blackheads and white heads, it will also hydrate at the same time. The hydrating and calming ingredients are going to prevent the over-drying and irritation which can sometimes be seen with the use of salicylic acid. The key ingredients in this cleanser are hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and salicylic acid. If you're somebody with combination or tolerant skin, you can use it as a cleanser. It's a shorter contact duration with the acid itself, which makes it easier for more sensitive skin."

The versatility is so easy because you can just keep one in the shower, keep it on your sink, it will get the job done. "I love the micellar water because I feel like it does a good job at removing my nighttime skincare routine but it doesn't irritate my skin. It really might be an overkill but my sensitive skin tolerates it just fine. This particular micellar water also contains fructooligosaccharides to help hydrate and maintain skin barrier. Micellar water dries pretty quick but I do allow it to dry completely before my next step."
"I love the cleansing balm. It smells amazing, it is very soft on my skin, does not irritate my eyes, it's amazing at removing eye makeup off, especially if you're like me you have hooded eyelids and you use shadow primer. "My favorite and super affordable is Garnier Micellar Water, the one with the pink cap is what I use. It's only in about $10 range. It will gently remove makeup, even eye makeup, even mascara. You just have to hold it when you put it on your cotton round on your eyelashes for a little bit to pull the mascara off and then wipe it off. It does a fantastic job. It's good for sensitive, acne-prone, oily skin, all skin types really. And no, it does not require any rinsing. Micellar water is intended to be left on your face. You don't really have to wash your face after using micellar water. The key ingredients in the micellar water are these little micelles that pick up the dirt. The way I explain this to my kids is like if you take the Swiffer and you wipe the dry dust, it just sucks it up. That's really what micelles in the micellar water do to the dirt on your skin. They just suck it up into that cotton pad that you just used, leaving your skin clean and smooth. There's also a little bit of Glycerin in it."

"Vanicream Cream Cleanser is gentle for all skin types because it's gentle but it will also foam up if you're more on the oily side. It will remove the oil. Some of the key ingredients in this cleanser are things like ceramides which will help restore skin barrier and lock in moisture, hyaluronic acid to provide hydration and plump the skin, and amino acids which enhance skin hydration and support its natural repair process. If you are more on that extra sensitive side, Vanicream Cream Cleanser, hands down, your jam. Try that one."
"My second cleanser at the moment is the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cleanser. This has no actives in it but it does such a good job at removing all makeup, especially any leftover mascara. It removes all the oil from my T-zone but does not leave me dry. It is ideal for normal to oily skin types, it helps maintain skin barrier, and it removes all the makeup and oil and grease from my skin without stripping any of the natural oils. Some of the key ingredients in it are things like ceramides which will help hydrate, niacinamide to help soothe the skin, glycerin, glycerin is so good at hydrating, it's a natural humectant, it just keeps the moisture in your skin, and of course the La Roche-Posay Prebiotic Thermal Spring Water, this is the soothing water that is sourced from a town called Laroche B in France and it's in all of La Roche-Posay's products. It's rich in minerals, trace elements, and selenium which is a natural antioxidant."
"The newer brand that has really good active ingredient, it's really good for sensitive skin is CeraVe Acne Foaming Cleanser. If your skin is more on the sensitive side I would opt for lower percentage such as four or 5%. Let the cleanser sit on the skin, rub it in really good and then rinse it off."
"When treating back acne, you want a retinoid, you want benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid. In the shower I would recommend starting with simple things, get a cleanser with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. I prefer benzoyl peroxide despite the recent studies of it maybe containing benzene, it still works, it's very effective and it releases very small amounts of benzene so I find it safe and I have continued to use it myself in the shower. You can get either 4 or 10% benzoyl peroxide, it comes in different ranges, higher percentages will work a little bit better on the back. With benzoyl peroxide cleanser it's important that when you apply you leave it on a couple of minutes before rinsing off. Second important thing with benzoyl peroxide cleanser, when you're rinsing it off you rinse it really well and if you don't it will bleach out your towels or whatever you step on when you get out of the shower. My favorite brand here is Curology, it is very gentle. I personally use their 4% acne foaming cleanser, love it, even for the most sensitive skin. I use it on my face, I use it on my back, I even use it on my armpit for body odor."
"My first recommendation here is going to be the OG Vaseline, the original healing jelly. This is 100% petrolatum, the gold standard occlusive, recommended by dermatologists worldwide. It is about as pure as it gets. It is probably one of the most inert things that you can put on your skin. It locks up to 99% of skin's natural moisture. It is completely fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, safe for even eczema-prone skin. And I love it because it creates this protective seal to prevent that transepidermal water loss. So you are getting to the core of eczema treatment. It also helps soothe cracked healing lips if you have any cuticles that are cracked, if you have any heels that are cracked. And this stuff will not burn. Even if you apply it to the most sensitive cracked open skin, it will not burn or irritate your skin. For eczema, I love it on top of serums or moisturizers for that added protection. You're going to have damp skin, apply your moisturizer with ceramides and then apply this on top to kind of seal in that moisture."

"My first recommendation here is the Vaseline Original Healing Jelly. This is 100% petrolatum. It's the gold standard of the occlusives. Number one derm recommended worldwide. The Vaseline locks in up to 99% of skin's natural moisture. And it's completely fragrance-free, hypoallergenic. It's safe for any skin type, even eczema-prone skin on the youngest patient. It creates this protective seal to prevent any sort of transepidermal water loss, keeping that moisture in. So it's going to help soothe any cracked peeling lips almost instantly. It works really well if you layer it on top of a serum or a lighter balm for that added protection."

"If your skin is extra dry and you just don't feel like after you apply this moisturizer on it's enough, consider applying a coat of Vaseline on top. These are things like Vaseline, Aquaphor or CeraVe Healing Ointment, and Aquaphor even comes in a spray bottle that you can put directly on top of that cream to provide extra protection. It's sealing in that moisture and preventing epidermal water loss."

Best Anti-Aging Lasers for Wrinkles, Redness & Pigment | What Dermatologists Really Recommend
"The results are fantastic. Most of my patients do really really well with just two treatments spaced one month apart, sometimes I'll do a third treatment and then everyone does maintenance. The maintenance for the lasers is once a year, but the maintenance at home is your vitamin C or antioxidant serum every morning and sunscreen every single morning. This is my favorite laser by far. It's one of the ones we've had in a practice for seven or eight years now. It helps with redness, it helps with rosacea, and it is incredibly effective, way way way more effective than IPL or BBL for redness. I've seen it make a huge difference in any patient with a vascular concern. You can also treat those little cherry angiomas, the little red moles that you get on your body, and that's typically just one treatment."
"It helps boost ATP which is your energy cells production in muscle and brain for that improved energy strength and cognitive performance. This helps maintain muscle mass brain function especially important during perimenopause when both of those are going to decline. So I do five grams added to my coffee in the morning. It doesn't taste like anything. It blends right in. I do use a little frother but you really don't have to to blend it in. I feel like it helps me feel sharper stronger. I feel like it helps my cognitive function. I feel like it helps my muscles. There are small studies that show you that you can take up to 10 grams especially after workout to help muscle recovery. I do take 10 g occasionally but every morning I do 5 g of this in my coffee. It tastes like nothing. It does not ruin my coffee at all."
"Morpheus 8 promise a lot and not deliver much. I have personally not seen a lot of patients with good results from Morpheus 8. If you're somebody who needs a lot of tightening, Morpheus 8 isn't going to get it done. That might be a surgical job. But if you're somebody who's just looking to slow things down or maybe prevent those wrinkles from getting deeper, Morpheus 8 might be your thing."
"Another shampoo recommendation is ketoconazole. The brand name for this over the counter that you'll see is Niserol. This also comes in a prescription version of 2%, but over the counter comes in a much bigger bottle. Smells better and it's not as drying. So, I would stick with over the counter. Use it the same way you would use your selenium sulfide. Wash the areas, let it sit a few seconds, and rinse it off."
"Head and Shoulders leaves almost like a residue on my roots that bothers me a little bit so this one never gets used Monday through Friday. This one really gets used if I just know I'm going to be at home working out, really not going anywhere, not doing anything. My hair looks just fine with it, it's just how it feels to me."
"The SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF is 100% my jam. It is a potent antioxidant serum designed to protect against free radicals and environmental aggressors like pollution and UV rays. It will help even out skin tone, reduce discoloration, and enhance skin radiance. It's specifically formulated for more of an oily to combination skin, making it a great alternative to what I consider stinky C Ferulic, but if you have really dry skin, C Ferulic might be better for you. The key ingredients in this one are 2% Phloretin, which is derived from apples and the bark of fruit trees like pear and grapefruit. The Phloretin helps neutralize damaging free radicals, aids cell turnover, and improves the appearance of discoloration. This also has 10% pure vitamin C, which is L-ascorbic acid. This is a very potent antioxidant. It protects against oxidative stress, brightens the skin, provides visible anti-aging benefits. And it has 0.5% ferulic acid, which is a plant-based antioxidant that enhances the stability and efficacy of vitamin C and E while neutralizing free radicals."

"I have personally used the Rogaine brand and I have applied the foam at bedtime and not had a problem with greasy hair the next morning at all. I have really fine hair that gets greasy really easy and I have not found this to be a problem at all. I do recommend 5% for women as well. I think 5% is much superior to the 2%. The minoxidil will work really well on androgenetic alopecia. It will also help with telogen effluvium if you're somebody whose hair is falling out from stress and you just can't wait for it to stop falling out and new hair to grow, this will help. Also if you have alopecia areata or there's little circular patches of hair loss from stress, it will help all three of those types. With every treatment for hair loss you need to be patient. It can take four to six months to start seeing significant improvement in hair growth. Yes, if you do stop using minoxidil, the hair that grew because of minoxidil will probably go back to what it was before. This is the case for androgenetic alopecia, but if you are using it for telogen effluvium or if you're using it for alopecia areata where the underlying cause of hair loss is not an ongoing process rather it's an acute process, then you will not need to use Rogaine forever."

"While effective, these serums have several risks and it is really for every individual to decide if these are the risks that they're willing to take or not. This is more common in patients with lighter eyes and there's a risk of permanent darkening of the iris."

"If you have more sensitive skin or you're new to retinoids, this is a really good place to start. It uses that encapsulated retinol, which means it's going to be more slowly released and less irritating to the skin. Less irritation means you're going to get better anti-aging benefits because you're more likely to use it. I really like this option because it's lightweight, easy to layer, and it's very focused on barrier support. This is a really good choice if you want to be consistent with retinoids without dealing with a lot of dryness, peeling, or irritation."
9 Drugstore Retinoids a Dermatologist Actually Recommends (No Prescription Needed)
"If you've never used a retinoid before, this is hands-down one of my favorite places to start. The biggest reason people quit retinol early isn't that it doesn't work, it's that they get hit with way too much irritation too fast, and they give up. CeraVe designed this formula specifically to prevent that. The retinol is encapsulated, which means it's released gradually over time instead of all at once. So, you're getting steady, consistent benefits without the irritation spike that scares most beginners off. It's also paired with ceramides to reinforce your skin barrier, niacinamide to calm redness, and hyaluronic acid for hydration. That combination right there is so thoughtful because barrier disruption is exactly what leads to that peeling, burning, tight feeling, and this formula is built to get ahead of that. It's also under 25 bucks and available at any drugstore, which makes it a genuinely really low-risk first step."

9 Drugstore Retinoids a Dermatologist Actually Recommends (No Prescription Needed)
"RoC Retinol Correxion Max Hydration Cream goes hand in hand with being the best retinol for mature skin. RoC has been doing retinol well for decades, and they have some of the strongest clinical data behind their formulas. This is their updated version of their classic Max Hydration Cream, and it's one I've been recommending a lot lately. The formula combines pure retinol with hyaluronic acid in a single cream, so you're getting that collagen supporting, line smoothing benefits of all those retinols alongside lasting hydration of the hyaluronic acid. That pairing really matters for mature skin because dryness amplifies the look of fine lines, and traditional retinoids can sometimes make that dryness worse before it gets better. For anyone really in their 40s, 50s, 60s, who wants that full, meaningful anti-aging results in one step, this is a really good pick. The texture is pretty rich, not too heavy though, and it works really well on its own at night. You can even layer it under moisturizer if you want to."

"The encapsulated retinol works to gradually fade pigmentation and refine texture, and there's also licorice root extract that adds that extra brightening support on top of that. Ceramides and niacinamide in here keep the skin barrier strong throughout, which matters a lot when you're actively treating pigmentation because compromised barrier can actually make your discoloration worse. For everyday use and an unbeatable price point, this is a really smart pick."
"Differin is a retinoid that helps prevent clogged pores, calm inflammation, and fade post-acne dark spots over time. It works deep in the skin to treat and prevent breakouts, but it can also increase sun sensitivity, which is why it should always be used at night. It's best for persistent breakouts, hormonal acne, and acne-prone skin adjusting to long-term treatment. You only want to use this at night time after cleansing and before moisturizer. Start 2-3 nights a week and only increase if your skin is not too dry, peely, or irritated. "Adapalene is a type of retinoid that helps prevent clogged pores. It calms down inflammation. It will also help fade some of those post acne dark spots over time. It works deep in the skin to treat and prevent breakouts. It can also increase sun sensitivity, which is why it's always important to use this at night and wear your SPF every single morning. I love adapalene for any type of acne, any persistent breakouts, hormonal acne, clogged pores, any type of acne. The best time to use it is at night time after cleaning your skin and before moisturizing. Wash your face, dry completely, take a pea-size amount of Differin gel, dot it, spread it avoiding the eyes, and then let it dry completely. Then apply a moisturizer on top. Do this two to three nights a week for a few weeks, making sure your skin is not dry, peely, or irritated, and then if you're tolerating it, go ahead and increase it. If you slather it all over your face every single night, odds are in a week you're going to say you're allergic to it, but you're not, you're just developing normal side effects. In order to minimize those side effects, you really need to do either the sandwich method or just the Differin gel with the moisturizer on top and increase gradually and not go straight to every single night. Adapalene 0.1% gel was once prescription and now it's over-the-counter. It's the highest concentration of a retinoid that does not require prescription and it's available over the counter. Retinoids help regulate cell turnover to prevent clogged pores and that is the best way to treat your acne."

Retinol, Retinal, Tretinoin: What’s the Difference?
"Differin Gel has the 0.1 adapalene. It's a retinoid that helps prevent clogged pores, calm inflammation, fade post acne marks and spots over time, but it also helps work deep in the skin to treat and prevent some of the breakouts. And just like all the other retinols and retinoids, it can increase sun sensitivity. So, you always want to make sure you wear SPF in the morning. I love Differin Gel for persistent breakouts, hormonal acne, acne prone skin, or maybe even like combination to oily skin. It is a little bit more potent than the retinoids we talked about earlier in the video. So, make sure you only use a pea size amount. Only start two to three nights per week for maybe 3 to 4 weeks. Moisturize on top. If you have no peeling irritation, you can increase that frequency to 5 to seven nights a week. But if you're developing irritation, try adding a moisturizer underneath your Differin Gel to kind of buffer it a little bit."

It's more of a thicker emollient ointment base. So it's going to help with some of the irritation or dryness if you are somebody who's really sensitive to retinols. The key ingredients are retinol palmitate and tocopherol or vitamin E."
"Rock Retinol is one of my two favorite over-the-counter retinoid recommendations. It's very affordable, very gentle, and accessible. You can find it at your local Target or Walmart. Retinoids work by improving the uneven tone and texture from sun exposure. They're going to help reduce the look of post-inflammatory marks and hyperpigmentation. It's gentle enough for beginners. If you're a beginner with extremely sensitive skin, use only a pea-size amount to cover your entire face, avoiding your eyes and the corners of your nose, and make sure you moisturize on top. Start with three to four nights a week and increase if your skin can tolerate it."
"Altreno is a brand name. It lasts a very long time. If you want that gel texture but you don't want to be too irritated with the generic, which is tretinoin lotion, it feels like gel. I know it says lotion, but it feels just like gel. It's a very nice option, a very good alternative. I apply this directly on top of my serum at bedtime, and then I do moisturizer on top."

"I also have the Altreno lotion, which is the brand name of the tretinoin. It does help with some of the irritation, but you can still experience peeling whenever you use your tretinoin regardless of whether you're using like a retinol over the counter or the actual tretinoin. You only want to use like a pea-size amount and cover your entire face. I like having the toner underneath because it really spreads the cream nice. Sometimes the cream is a little bit harder to spread, and having that hydration underneath helps the spread much much easier."
"This is a slow release retinol serum designed for sensitive and rosacea prone skin combining the retinol with niacinamide and then these hydrating ingredients to strengthen the skin barrier and minimize irritation. The key ingredient here is the pure retinol, it's a vitamin A derivative that promotes surface cell turnover, reduces fine lines, improves the skin texture. This also has the niacinamide which calms down the redness and restores the skin moisture barrier, also helps with discoloration that's caused by inflammation. This also contains glycerin, which is a great humectant that attracts and retains water ensuring optimal hydration, gives you a little bit of plumpness to the skin. And then of course the La Roche-Posay thermal spring water which contains minerals and selenium which provide the antioxidant protection and help soothe irritation."

"La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum contains a milder form of retinol along with niacinamide which soothes the skin and minimizes irritation. This retinol serum will combine the concentrated pure retinol and vitamin B3 for optimal effectiveness while also being suitable for sensitive skin. The key ingredients are the pure retinol which is a well researched form of vitamin A that promotes cell turnover improving skin texture and reducing the appearance of fine lines. It also contains vitamin B3, also known as niacinamide, which is known for its anti-inflammatory and skin soothing properties. Niacinamide helps strengthen the skin barrier and reduce redness, making retinol more tolerable. It also contains glycerin which is a powerful humectant that attracts moisture, keeping the skin hydrated and plump."

"There's a variety of retinols. If you start over the counter, there's La Roche-Posay, they have really good retinols. They're going to be the mildest category retinol. Really the brand on the front doesn't matter as much as the active ingredient."
"For mature skin, I also recommend Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol Overnight Body and Face Lotion. It's formulated with retinol, which promotes smoother, firmer skin, helps with elasticity, and helps minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, it's hydrating and contains ingredients like retinol which will help increase cell turnover to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and dullness. It will also help enhance the skin texture for a smoother, more youthful appearance. It has shea butter, which will deeply moisturize and soften the skin. This moisturizer also restores the lipid barrier, locking in hydration and preventing moisture loss. It does have hyaluronic acid in it, which will further hydrate and plump the skin, improve skin elasticity, and vitamins A, C, and E to provide that antioxidant protection to your skin."
"opt for normal things like we all use hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and plump your skin, vitamin C and antioxidant to help fight free radicals and keep your skin protecting from UV light, sunscreen every morning and retinol at night. Those products will get you so much further."
"Retinol, whether using retinol or tretinoin which is retinoic acid, they're all the same thing. Adapalene is another one that's in this category. All of these ingredients are in the retinol category because they all work very similarly to help exfoliate that top layer of the skin and then after consistent continued use of at least 8 weeks they'll help stimulate collagen production in that second layer of the skin and that's when you really see decreased wrinkling and increased glowing in the skin. Retinols with the exception of adapalene should be applied in the evening, this is extremely important. If you take your over-the-counter retinol and you apply that in the morning it is deactivated by the sunlight so it's just not working. Retinol can be applied on either clean dry skin or on top of your niacinamide or on top of a plain moisturizer. If you're somebody who is new to retinols I always recommend applying moisturizer first then your retinol then you can moisturize again, this is called a retinol sandwich."
"if you start over the counter there's Neutrogena, they all have really good retinols, they're going to be the mildest category retinol. really the brand on the front doesn't matter as much as the active ingredient."
"Trader Joe's sunscreen has that same translucent, silicone-like texture. It absorbs really quick, leaves really soft, matte finish. It works really well under makeup, almost like a primer. I feel like I can apply it to my ears, neck, close to the hairline without making my hair greasy, which is the key if you're trying to prevent skin cancer in those areas. It is completely oil-free, it's fragrance-free, doesn't leave any white cast, which makes it really easy everyday option. The key ingredients are avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, and octocrylene."
"I have a few sunscreens I'm kind of gravitating towards. One is the Trader Joe's Daily Sunscreen, another one is Round Lab Birch Juice, and then also the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua Fresh. I'll pick my SPF based on how I feel that day, what I did last night, do I think my skin needs a little extra hydration."
"The Neutrogena Collagen Bank targets early collagen decline to help maintain the firmness and elasticity. It can help strengthen existing collagen and support new collagen production with clinically proven ingredients. It's super lightweight, not greasy formula. It's good for really any skin type, including the sensitive and acne-prone skin. It contains hyaluronic acid which provides intense hydration, helping to plump and smooth the skin. I love it for face and neck once or twice a day."
"The La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Mineral Light Fluid Sunscreen SPF 50 is a 100% mineral-based sunscreen SPF 50 with that natural tint to even skin tone. It comes in different shades. It's really lightweight fluid texture, blends really easy, and layers really well under your makeup. It's completely non-comedogenic, so it's going to be good for acne-prone but also sensitive skin. It is water-resistant up to 40 minutes, and the key ingredients are titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxides because it's tinted, the Cellox B3 Shield Technology, and vitamin E."
"CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30 is your best two-in-one moisturizer with SPF. Sun protection is the most important anti-aging step because UV exposure is one of the biggest drivers of collagen breakdown. This moisturizer is going to give you both hydration and broad-spectrum sun protection in one single step. It has a really lightweight texture, making it really easy to wear daily under your makeup or under other skin care products. It also helps support the skin barrier while also protecting against sun damage. The key ingredients are zinc oxide, ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid."
"The Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF 30 is a little bit richer but still fast absorbing moisturizer with SPF 30. It works really well for dry mature skin. It hydrates deeply while helping soften the look of fine lines and improve texture over time. It gives you that hydration for up to 48 hours and smooths the appearance of fine lines. It's designed for that daily use with added SPF 30 to protect from UV damage. I find it to be best for that dry, dull, or sensitive skin, especially if you're noticing early signs of aging and you want hydration with brightening and firming support as well. "If you're somebody who needs a little extra moisture, this is the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF 30. This is rich. It's a little bit thicker than the Neutrogena one, but it absorbs really fast. It's SPF 30. Works really good for dry skin, sensitive skin, aging. I like it on my neck. I've loved it under my tint and sunscreen on the face. It hydrates deeply while helping soften the look of fine lines, improve the texture over time. It can hydrate up to 48 hours. It will help smooth some of those fine lines and wrinkles because it's helping hydrate and plump the lines created by dehydration. It's designed for daily use with SPF 30 to protect from everyday UV light. It's best for dry, dull, sensitive skin, especially if you're seeing early signs of aging and you want something that's going to hydrate but also help firm and support that skin. The key ingredients are the purified peptides, vitamin B3, vitamin B5."
"This is the ISDIN Eryfotona Ageless Mineral Broadspectrum Tinted Face Sunscreen. This is SPF 50. I love this. I feel like I can get two to three good finger lengths of this sunscreen on my face and it provides good coverage and it provides just enough of a tint look and reflects the light just right. I just love the way it feels and goes on. If you're somebody with lighter skin tone and this is too dark on you, the brand makes a plain white one. It is a two-in-one SPF that defends against UV damage while also helping repair with zinc oxide, peptides, antioxidants. It also contains DNA repair enzymes to visibly combat the signs of photoaging. The tinted version is great for those who are prone to melasma, hyperpigmentation. The key ingredients here are the zinc oxide, the DNA repair enzymes, the peptide Q10, and vitamin E."

Dermatologist Explains Why Tinted SPF Matters | Best Mineral Tinted Sunscreens for Hyperpigmentation
"For me, the Super Goop Glow Screen is the SPF 40. Retails for about $38 for 1.7 oz. If you're somebody who's more on the dry side, you might like the Glow Screen a little bit better to be honest. But it is chemical, not mineral. It did not irritate my skin though at all, even though I have rosacea. This is glowy. It keeps your skin really hydrated and almost acts as a primer for makeup. It gives you like this radiant finish. It's broadspectrum SPF protection. It's perfect for those dewy skin days. Works beautifully under makeup or if you want it by itself in place of makeup. Comes in four different shades. The key ingredients are hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5. It does have sea lavender and cocoa peptides in it."
"The La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral SPF 50 is a super duper lightweight, gentle mineral sunscreen. It blends really easy without any white cast. It's totally non-comedogenic and it's tested on sensitive skin. It comes in non-tinted and tinted, so if you're somebody who has melasma, tinted might be better for you. The key ingredient here is titanium dioxide. It also has some antioxidants and thermal spring water."
"What I like about it is that it's pure mineral sunscreen. For those with rosacea, it will be a little bit easier on that super sensitive skin. This one's going to be very mattifying, a little bit more blurring, better for a little bit lighter skin types or those who are really oily and want something that is more mattifying or as a makeup primer. By itself right now in the summer it makes me a little bit lighter than I'd like to be, so you're going to have to add a bronzer or something to it because it's a tinted sunscreen. It has the iron oxide, so it's going to do a really good job at protecting from that visible light and blue light. It is non-comedogenic."
"This is one of the most iconic Japanese SPFs out there. It's really ultra light gel cream. It feels like skincare. It does not feel like SPF. It has really high SPF, really good protection with these advanced Japanese UV filters. Feels very hydrating and cooling like instant cooling application. Also wears really well under makeup. I would say it's great for oily and combination skin. It is alcohol based, so if you're somebody who has really sensitive skin or you're sensitive to alcohol, maybe she's not the one for you. The key ingredients here are hyaluronic acid, Royal Jelly Extract, and it has both of the chemical UV filters."
"The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer with Sunscreen combines hydration and some protection in a super lightweight non-greasy formula. It's broadspectrum SPF 50, good against UVA and UVB, completely fragrance free. It hydrates and plumps the skin with a ton of hyaluronic acid in it, so you don't feel like you have to add a hyaluronic acid serum underneath at all. I wouldn't say it's ideal for oily skin types, which is why I didn't use it much in the summertime myself, but for winter it's amazing."
"My second choice for sunscreen is the Super Goop Unseen Sunscreen. I love this one because it's more mattifying, it hydrates my skin but it acts like a really nice primer, especially to fill in those little fine lines around the eyes or in my smile lines. It offers broad spectrum SPF protection, it is SPF 40 PA+++. If my skin is oily I'm probably going to use the Unseen sunscreen, and on days that I'm expecting to wear my makeup for long periods of time or if I'm going to be sitting like filming YouTube or something like that, I like to apply primer on top of my sunscreen just to help that makeup set in a little bit better."
"I personally have preferred Unseen Sunscreen by far because it was really easy to apply makeup on top versus when I used e.l. I felt like makeup sometimes rolled off. I also found that Unseen was quite a bit lighter on my combination to oily skin whereas e.l. appeared a little too heavy for me. The only other notable difference between the two is that Unseen is SPF 40 unlike the other one which is SPF 35, and it is also water resistant to 80 minutes whereas the other is only resistant to 40 minutes. For me this one's the winner between the two."
"My recommendation for this is the Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo. This is the antifungal formula that helps reduce the malassezia overgrowth. It targets the dandruff, scalp flaking, itchy, inflamed skin. It's really helpful for seborrheic dermatitis for the scalp and the face. And if you use it consistently, which is like two to three times a week, it can really help reduce inflammation, redness, and flaking. The key ingredient is ketoconazole. Also, a small tip. If you're somebody like me who suffers from early androgenetic alopecia or genetically inherited hair loss and you're starting to thin at the top, using ketoconazole shampoo a couple times a week on your scalp can slow down this type of hair loss."

The active ingredient here is ketoconazole, which is also a mild DHT blocker. It's fast drying with intelligent heat control to prevent damage. You can control the levels of heat and the levels at which the air comes out and it has a cold shot. "I'll also love their leave-in conditioner. It is super lightweight formula. So if you're somebody who has fine hair like me and you don't want to weigh down this one's perfect. It's really good for any type but especially if your hair is dry or frizzy. The key ingredients in this one are Sububaki seed oil and panthanol."
"What I love about it the most is the fact that I don't have to spray it so I don't feel like I'm inhaling any of it. It's really lightweight. It's a non-aerosol dry shampoo that refreshes your hair without any buildup. There's also no white cast despite me having brown hair. This goes on just fine in the morning if you need to apply it, or the way your dry shampoo should go in at night time. But if you don't remember to apply it at night, this one will not leave you any white powdery cast. You apply it just where you need it. It absorbs the oil, adds volume and texture for that freshly styled look. It comes in this refillable container making it more sustainable than traditional dry shampoos. I love it for travel. I love it for everyday. It's great for any type, but especially if you're like me, you have that really fine oily hair that needs to be refreshed in between washes. The key ingredients are tapioca starch, kaolin clay, and tsubaki seed oil."

It leaves it really soft and really healthy looking. The key ingredient here is bioprotein care, and it's infused with peptides. It also contains glycerin and silk protein. Last time I used this a few days ago, my hair felt like I don't know, like I got a new set of hair. It was so shiny, it was so strong, it smelled so good. It's really perfect for teens as well."
"Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant deeply penetrates to unclog pores, reduce blackheads, minimize pore appearance. It regulates oil production and helps prevent new breakouts. The key ingredients here are the salicylic acid or BHA at 2% which is the active ingredient that penetrates into the pores, can clear the blemish causing buildup and helps shed dead skin cells. "For bond repair, I love the K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask. This is not your typical deep conditioner. It's a biomimetic hair treatment that repairs broken hair chains at a molecular level and restores the strength and elasticity. It works in just 4 minutes to help reverse the damage from bleaching, coloring, heat, or any chemical treatments. Unlike traditional bonding treatments, K18 permanently reconnects keratin chains for lasting damage repair. The key ingredient is the K18 peptide, which is a patented peptide that mimics natural hair structure to rebuild keratin proteins."

"The K18 leave-in molecular repair hair mask is my first recommendation in the hair care category. It can be pricey and comes in a tiny package, but it lasts a very long time. This is not your typical deep conditioner. It's a biomimetic hair treatment that repairs broken keratin chains at a molecular level, therefore restoring strength and elasticity. It works in just 4 minutes to reverse that damage for any bleaching, coloring, heat, or any chemical treatments you may have done. Unlike traditional bonding treatments, it permanently reconnects those keratin chains for longer lasting damage repair. The key ingredient is the keratin peptide, which is a patented peptide that mimics natural hair structure to rebuild those keratin proteins."
"This new one from Prequel has been really cool. This is the multi-acid milk peel. It's an AHA exfoliating solution. It has a blend. It helps improve skin texture, clarity, radiance without irritation. Comes in a giant bottle. It's really nice. You can use it on your face, neck, chest, really entire body if you wanted to. It has a really nice blend of glycolic, phytic, malic, mandelic, lactic. The glycolic in here is 15% compared to the ordinary, which is only seven. So glycolic is a smaller molecule. It's going to penetrate deeper. So this is going to be significantly a little bit spicier, like more potent than the ordinary. If you're new to exfoliating acids, I would not start here, but follow the directions on here. It's very milky. Like the description really fits the product. I do still think that this is good for sensitive or even dry skin types. But if you are in that category, make sure you test spot first. The way I use this exfoliating acid is apply it on a cotton round, apply it to my face, neck, chest, any other areas you want to, and then apply my moisturizer and I sleep like that. Wake up in the morning and the skin is hydrated, smooth, just perfect."
"This combines both chemical and physical exfoliation for a gentle but effective formula. If you're looking for a formula that's going to chemically dissolve keratin but also gently buff out that top of the skin, this is a good one to try. It combines physical and chemical exfoliation to smooth that rough bumpy skin. It uses glycolic and lactic acid at a combined level of 10% AHA to dissolve the keratin plug while those fine pumice beads provide gentle physical exfoliation."
"The Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel Pads are like a two-step peel that exfoliates, brightens, and smooths the skin. It helps reduce fine lines, enlarged pores, and any uneven texture you may have. The key ingredients are a perfect blend of your AHAs, it has glycolic and lactic, and then your BHA, which is your salicylic acid."
"My favorite Peter Thomas Roth Sulfur Mask is really cool. If you are using the mask you're going to want to apply it, let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes, that's how long it takes for it to dry, and then wash it off completely. Don't wipe it off with a washcloth because your washcloth and your entire laundry is going to stink for a hot minute. Rather hop in the shower, wash it off really good, and then use your barrier creams like La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm on top to help heal that barrier."

"Sulfur kills yeast bacteria it will eliminate anything on your face. The downside to sulfur is that it really is stinky and a lot of people don't like the smell of it. I recently have been using the mask from Peter Thomas Roth. It's a 10% sulfur mask you apply it, leave it on 10 to 15 minutes until it dries, and then rinse it off. I would only recommend doing the mask maybe once a week so it doesn't irritate or dry your skin."

How to Shrink Large Pores: Dermatologist-Recommended Tips & Treatments | Dr. Aleksandra Brown
"I do like this in a mask form rather than a cleanser because mask is going to be more of a leave on so you have higher contact time compared to cleanser. The Peter Thomas Roth mask doesn't have that nasty smell it actually smells pretty good to me. You apply it leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse off it does not leave any residual smell whatsoever. The key benefits of sulfur is that it will help control the oil minimize clogged pores and reduce the shine it's also antibacterial so will help with acne as well as yeast and Demodex mites that we often get on our faces. If you suffer from acne seborrheic dermatitis or dandruff or rosacea it is ideal for oily and acne prone skin. If your skin is normal to combination I think you're still okay to try this mask however if your skin is sensitive you may want to do like a patch test before you use it on your entire face. The Peter Thomas Roth mask contains sulfur 10% which will help minimize the oil clear the clogged pores and its antibacterial properties will help with acne it also contains kaolin and Bentonite Clays which help draw impurities out from the pores further increasing the potency of the mask and aloe vera which will soothe and hydrate a little bit so you don't get too much irritation."
"The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% solution is a lightweight serum that exfoliates inside the pores to keep them clear. It helps reduce blackheads, whiteheads, and oily shine. Because it doesn't increase sun sensitivity as much as retinoids, it can be used morning and night. It is best for clogged pores, blackheads, or textured skin. The key ingredient is the 2% salicylic acid which clears pores, helps prevent breakouts, and minimizes oil. When you're minimizing oil you can cause dryness, so I wouldn't start doing this morning and evening right off the bat. The serum also contains niacinamide which will help reduce some of the inflammation and support the skin barrier, as well as panthenol and sodium PCA which hydrate and calm the skin. The Ordinary can be found in most drugstores and is very, very affordable."
"The Cetaphil Gentle Clear Mattifying Acne Moisturizer is a super lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer specifically formulated for acne-prone skin, especially if you're oily. It helps control that oil and shine while providing hydration and barrier support. It's completely fragrance-free and has this matte finish, making it really good for daytime use under makeup or underneath sunscreen. It's best for oily, acne-prone skin looking for that shine control and hydration at the same time. But it's really also good for anyone who's using active treatments like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide and needs a lightweight barrier support. The key ingredients are salicylic acid 0.5%, prebiotic aloe, panthenol or vitamin B5, and niacinamide."
"I like the Neutrogena ones, they're just hydrocolloid, they don't have any active ingredients. Put a pimple patch on clean skin and then do your adapalene gel on your entire face. "Pimple patches are everywhere now, they're easy to find. You can find some with salicylic acid, with Tea Tree oil, or just plain hydrocolloid ones, hydrocolloid ones are my favorite. Neutrogena has some really nice ones. Put them on before you go to bed after you wash your face, sleep with them. You will be surprised how that pimple has shrunk overnight."
"If you have oily skin and acne prone skin, using salicylic acid will help decrease the oiliness and help minimize the appearance of the size of the pores. Exfoliating acids in my opinion are best used at bedtime because your exfoliating acid is going to take off that top layer of the skin. The new layer of skin that's underneath is very prone to sunburn and sensitivity, so making sure that it's properly protected, especially with your sunscreen in the morning, is going to be extremely important."
"If you suffer from inflammatory acne so you have those red bumps your best second cleanser is going to be something with benzoyl peroxide in it the most popular brand here is Panoxyl it comes in 5 and 10%. If your skin is more on the sensitive side I would opt for lower percentage such as 4 or 5%. Let the cleanser sit on the skin rub it in really good and then rinse it off. Pro tip with the benzoyl peroxide cleanser if you don't rinse your benzoyl peroxide cleanser off very well it will bleach your towels and if you don't rinse it off in the shower it will bleach whatever you step on afterwards."
"I love the Thrive Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara. This is their tubing mascara. I have been using mascara for gosh over 10 years. I love it because it doesn't smudge, it doesn't wipe off on my upper lid because I have hooded lids, it's important that it not wipe off on the top part of my lid. It does not irritate my eyes, it doesn't crumble or go into my eyes throughout the day. It washes off with just water, so easy. It gives me good volume and good length, it's perfect volume and length, smudge proof, no crumbs whatsoever type of tubing mascara for me. It also contains some nourishing ingredients to promote lash health over time. It does have some castor oil in it, some shea butter, so it helps hydrate those lashes and keep them healthy. It's also safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers and there's no irritation whatsoever even with my eyes which are super sensitive, very dry."
"This is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I have tried the original, which is what this is, as well as the tinted one. This is hands down amazing. The tinted one was better when I was younger, however on my mature eyelids it tends to be kind of almost like mattifying and drying, and this one however is amazing. It doesn't have any color after you apply it, so whatever shadow you're applying on top of is going to look perfect. This primer keeps your eye shadow vibrant, crease free, and locked in place for up to 24 hours supposedly. Your eye shadow will not crease. It would also help my eyeliner, mascara, and everything else stay in place. Because if you're like me, hooded and you have greasy eyelids, you know that when you put that eyeliner on you blink a few times or you wipe it a little bit it might come off. This keeps every eyeliner in place even in the most humid or oily conditions."
"The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum is a prostaglandin-free lash serum option. If you're looking for a gentler, safer option, go for a prostaglandin-free serum like this one, or try natural remedies like castor oil."
"Grande Lash is one of the popular brands that contains a prostaglandin analog. If those are the risks that you are aware of and you want to avoid them, maybe get that lash serum out and check it against that list and make sure it doesn't contain a prostaglandin analog."
"Babe Lash is one of the popular brands that contains a prostaglandin analog. Top 10 Drugstore Skincare Products for Mature Skin That Are Actually Worth Buying
"This is one of my favorite affordable ways to address cell turnover directly. Glycolic acid is one of the most effective AHAs for that. It has a really small molecular size, which means it's going to penetrate a little bit deeper. 7% is strong enough to deliver results without being overly aggressive. The Ordinary formula buffers the glycolic acid with that Tasmanian pepper berry derivative to reduce irritation and includes ginseng root and aloe vera for soothing support. One thing I love about this product is that it is so versatile. You can use this as your traditional toner, put on a cotton pad after cleansing. I would probably use this one or two nights a week max. You can also apply it to your neck, chest, back of your hands to help increase exfoliation. You can use as spot treatment for rough patches, for KP, for butt acne, rough heels, elbows. For the price, you get a lot of flexibility. With consistent use, it helps reveal smoother, brighter, and more refreshed looking skin over time."

"My favorite product here in this category is definitely The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7%. It helps loosen that keratin buildup that contributes to keratosis pilaris. Also helps improve rough texture by increasing cell turnover. It's a super lightweight formula. I like to apply it to clean skin initially and then moisturizer on top. And you can apply it to your back, your arms, your legs really. You can even use it for stinky feet and you can use it on your face to help increase exfoliation. It's such a versatile product. The key ingredient in it is the 7% glycolic acid, the Tasmania pepper berry derivative and ginseng root and aloe vera which help kind of balance some of the irritation that you might get from the glycolic acid itself."
You Really Need a Toner? The Truth from a Dermatologist
"The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution is probably one of my most recommended skincare ingredients to date because it has so many different uses. It penetrates the skin for enhanced absorption of active ingredients in your routine. It can help fade discoloration, even out skin tone, even refine pores over time. I have showed the use of this product in things like dry feet, KP on the arms, on the scalp, body acne. The key ingredients are the glycolic acid, which is your alpha hydroxy acid that's going to help exfoliate the skin. Tasmanian pepper berry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with the acid use and jet root and aloe vera that offers both visible radiance and soothing benefits."
Why Your Nails Are Weak, Peeling, or Breaking | Dermatologist Explains
"I would probably recommend the Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7%. This is such a versatile product. It can help improve brittle nail or that rough nail texture when you're applying on the nail plate. When used on the nail, it can help smooth the surface irregularities, exfoliate gently that top layer of the dead keratin, which will in turn help increase penetration of your hydrating moisturizers. I wouldn't recommend this every day. This would be once in a while, maybe once every other week or maybe two, three times a month. You want to apply it sparingly to the nail plate and the cuticle around it. And always moisturize on top."
Milia: What Those White Bumps Really Are (And Why You Shouldn't Pop Them)
"My recommendation here is probably the glycolic acid from The Ordinary. It's 7% toning solution. I consider this one to be middle of the road. It's glycolic acid, which is kind of like medium potency alpha hydroxy acid, stronger exfoliation than lactic acid. So it's good for more texture concern, but it's not super strong like salicylic acid leave on that's going to irritate more sensitive skin. I recommend using this either with a cotton pad or just a little bit in your palms and applying it to the skin two to three times a week. Apply to clean, dry skin. Let it dry completely and apply moisturizer on top. The key ingredient is 7% glycolic acid, but it also contains the tasparian pepper berry derivative, which is going to help reduce some of the irritation associated with the acid use as well as the ginsen root and aloe vera to help minimize the irritation."

"My first recommendation is The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. This one's so gentle, easy to use. It prepares the skin for enhanced absorption of active ingredients in your routine. It's ideal for alternating between retinoids. The AHAs will help increase cell turnover, so that will help fade discoloration, even out the skin tone, and refine pores over time. This one is not just for your face. You can use it for your dry feet, apply it right after shower and apply moisturizer on top. I love it for KP on the arms. I love it for scalp. I even love it for butt acne. You can apply this just about anywhere. You can use it under your arms to minimize body odor or to improve hyperpigmentation under your arms. The key thing with it is to make sure you test spot. Apply a small amount on your wrist or the inside of the upper arm. Let it sit for 12 to 24 hours. Make sure you don't have any irritation before you apply it to a larger area, especially before you apply it to your underarms, since the underarms are a very delicate area."

"I purchased this myself, and it's lasting a long time. You can put this Ordinary anywhere you want to, just about on your body, like face, neck, chest, rough elbows, knees, feet, you name it. It fixes KP. If you don't have one of these in your home, just go ahead and get it. I like the glycolic from The Ordinary for the winter because it's a little bit more gentle. If you're beginner to exfoliating acids, always spot treat first before you apply it to a big area. In the summertime, I tend to bump it up a little bit. The exfoliating acids will help open up the pores and give me that nice glow."

It works by removing dead layer of skin cells, helping brighten complexion, and can be used anywhere really on the body. It's really budget friendly. You can get a giant bottle for like 10, 11 bucks. I initially started using this on a cotton round, but honestly, you can just put some in your palm and then dab it on the areas of concern. I love it for my arms, legs, even abdomen. I applied after shower followed by moisturizer on top. It helps it seal that glycolic acid in so you wake up with really soft, smooth skin."

I use it for keratosis pilaris on the back of the arms, on top of the thighs to help smooth out the chicken skin or strawberry skin. I have used it on my scalp to help increase the cell turnover rate. I apply it to my scalp directly prior to getting in the shower for about 10 to 15 minutes and then wash it off. I also apply it after the shower to help with hyperpigmentation and dark marks from previous acne, and it helps with aging and smoothing the skin. The key ingredient here is the glycolic acid, which is an alphahydroxy acid that will help exfoliate the skin."
Dermatologist Skincare Swaps for Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
"If your skin is not too sensitive and you want to spice it up just a wee bit, but still be pregnancy safe, this is where I would use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7%. This is a little bit stronger than lactic acid, so it's better for more severe texture concerns. You can just put on a cotton pad after cleansing and use it maybe a couple times a week. It is like a completely runny essence. So you really want to apply it to clean, completely dry skin. It does contain aloe and gins that will help calm down and energize the skin. The key ingredients here are the 7% glycolic acid and Tasmanian pepper berry derivative which will help reduce irritation that can be associated with the glycolic acid. And it also has the ginseng root and aloe vera to help further calm down any irritation you may develop."

"Glycolic acid, and this is the GOAT, glycolic acid from The Ordinary, is really nice. Applying this at bedtime will also help exfoliate the top layer of the skin. Now be cautious if you have rosacea or sensitive skin, it may cause some irritation, so you can apply to a small patch on the jawline and just test it one night and see how you do with it before you apply it to your entire face. If you're really set out to do glycolic acid and it really irritates your skin, another way to approach it is to do short contact therapy, so instead of applying it to your entire face and sleeping with it, you can apply it, leave it on for a couple hours, and then wash it off. And you can increase the potency of this treatment by increasing contact time with the glycolic acid if you don't tolerate it."
Best Anti-Aging Ingredients Ranked by a Dermatologist
"The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. This is super affordable, effective, super versatile as well."
"My recommendation in this category is Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner. This toner is formulated with high concentration of heartleaf extract and is designed to calm that visible redness rather than exfoliate the skin. It has a really lightweight, watery texture that absorbs really quickly and layers easily without feeling heavy. It's suitable for sensitive, acne prone, reactive skin and can be used daily even alongside retinoids. The key ingredients are heartleaf and hyaluronic acid."
"The CeraVe Hydrating Toner is designed to hydrate and support the skin barrier rather than strip the skin. It's really lightweight, water-based texture. It layers really easy under the serum and moisturizers, calms, soothes the skin, especially when using retinoids or acne treatments. It really also helps prep the skin for better absorption for your subsequent skincare steps. The key ingredients are the ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide."
"The key ingredients are things like rice which serves as a base, algae which replenishes the skin and retains the moisture, and green tea which is really rich in antioxidants. It absorbs really fast and gives you that glass skin look and a really smooth radiant finish. You wouldn't think this is super hydrating how light it is. It's a little bit creamier texture, it comes white but it's pure liquid, it goes on, I just pat it on my skin, it absorbs really fast. This is also good if you're on a budget, so this is like a fraction of the cost. Being that I'm combination to oily, I have to say I'm really surprised I like this, because if you ask me what this is ideal for I would say that it's ideal for more dry skin or really mature skin, but my combination to oily skin loves this. This milk toner not only delivers long lasting moisture throughout the night to my skin, it also helps me achieve that K-beauty glass skin appearance, smooth, plump skin. It will help brighten the skin just a little bit and it helps lock in the moisture and prevent dehydration. I think it's very versatile no matter your skin type. Some of the key ingredients it does have are 2% niacinamide which will help soothe and brighten the skin, rice bran extract known for its brightening properties, ceramides to help repair the skin barrier and increase the moisture, and panthenol or provitamin B5 which soothes, hydrates, and supports the skin."
"You don't need the toner. I wasn't always a toner girl. I find that this really added a step that I wasn't used to using and it really did make a big difference. The purpose of the toner is probably to just balance out your skin pH. If you're dry and you really want a hydrating, really super moisturizing toner, that's fine, but a lot of toners have alcohol, they're drying, irritating. If you're on a budget, you really don't need a toner. It's like a way extra step."

If I want something really more focused on fine lines and texture, I'll use this retinol eye cream instead. It supports skin turnover, which can help prevent millia by reducing keratin buildup over time. It's also super lightweight, super fast absorbing compared to a lot of the other eye creams I've tried. And this lowers the risk of occlusion related millia. The key ingredient is the retinol which helps improve that cell turnover, smooths the fine lines, helps prevent keratin from being trapped underneath the skin."

"It reduces lines and wrinkles in as little as one week, boosts elasticity and improves sagging for a more youthful look. It's designed for minimal irritation with a targeted delivery system. The key ingredients here are encapsulated retinol and ginseng root extract. The RoC Retinol Correxion targets three signs of eye aging: the dark circles, the de-puffing, and it's clinically proven to reduce the look of eye wrinkles by up to 50%. It's designed for dramatic results but it's gentle enough for daily use around the delicate eye area. The key ingredient is retinol, which is one of the most well-studied retinoids on the market. There was significant improvement in collagen density and thickness after about 8 weeks of use. RoC has over 50 clinical studies to show this. I recommend this a lot in the clinic."

"I would repurchase this again in a heartbeat. At night time I prefer eye cream with retinol. This is a little bit on the pricier end. It also contains alpha hydroxy acids in addition to retinol, so if your skin is super sensitive I wouldn't recommend it. I personally haven't had a problem with it. It will help build collagen, elastin, and tighten the delicate skin around the eyes."
"It targets the enzyme that's responsible for excess melanin production, so it directly addresses pigmentation at the source. It's paired with hyaluronic acid for hydration and plumping which helps soften the look of fine lines over time. So for mature skin dealing with both pigmentation and texture under eye, this is one of the most comprehensive affordable options I found at the drugstore. I do love this eye cream."
"The Dermatology Brightening Eye Masks help really debuff and hydrate those tired under eyes. This is my go-to for travel or if I have an event. It's like instant within 15 minutes, your eyes look better. It helps target dark circles with brightening ingredients and also helps smooth some of the fine lines and firm the delicate under eye skin. It's like this really cool hydrogel formula that delivers this refreshing cooling effect. And for extra effects, you put this in the fridge, you're going to get extra vasoconstriction, which is going to help with some of the dark circles under your eyes. The key ingredients here are niacinamide, caffeine, licorice, and it does have hyaluronic acid and peptides to help hydrate and plump that skin."

Are Eye Creams a Scam? A Dermatologist Reveals the Truth! | Dr. Aleksandra Brown
"I like these for deep puffiness underneath the makeup. I will do them in the morning sometimes if I have something going on, I'll just let them sit while I'm doing my hair or something like that, and then when you remove them the skin looks really hydrated, depuffed, and makeup application is a little bit easier so it doesn't crease as much. It targets those dark circles with brightening ingredients, it smooths fine lines, also helps firm the delicate skin a little bit. The hydrogel formula in them delivers this really refreshing cooling effect if you put them in a fridge you get a little extra cooling benefit. The key ingredients here are niacinamide, caffeine, licorice root, pinic acid, and peptides."

"I like them, they were hydrating. I use them before events and things like that. If you're going to a major event and you're going to put makeup on and you just want plump hydrated skin, eye patches are great. The Dermatology Brightening Eye Masks have been nice. I would repurchase again just to have something fun to use to hydrate before events, but I don't think these are a must-have in an everyday skincare routine."
"My last step is the eye cream, which all you need is that little bit at the edges, and it really does feel so velvety and smooth and like something's already happened. It feels good, that's important. Eye cream's not a must, I use one, I probably use more than one. I do use eye cream twice a day, but you don't have to have it in your skincare routine. She really likes it so I would stick with it even though it's been on your skin for like five minutes, it feels like voila."
"I like their essence. It's really lightweight, absorbs really quickly. It preps my skin for the serums and treatments that follow. It kind of helps boost your skincare treatment with its 100% Hadasei, it's like a trio of fermented Japanese superfoods. They're going to help hydrate, resurface, soften, and plump your skin. I just really like it. It helps me hydrate and plump the skin. I apply my vitamin C on top of it. It really helps prep the skin for my next step. It helps improve some of the absorption of the other products in your routine as well. So if you're somebody perimenopausal or postmenopausal, this might be a good one to introduce. The key ingredients here are the Akita rice, the Okinawa algae, and the Uji green tea."

How a Dermatologist Transitions Her Skincare for Spring & Summer | Dr. Aleksandra Brown
"I love it because it's super lightweight. I feel like it hydrates, but it doesn't leave me that hydrating feeling completely. I can still apply my moisturizer on top without feeling like there's anything underneath. If you're very dry and you want the lightest hydration but still somewhat hydration, she's your girl. This will prep my skin, boost my hydration, makes my actives almost feel like a little bit better going on. It will hydrate, it will plump a little bit. It makes it look kind of radiant, not too dewy, not too shiny, and it helps my subsequent steps absorb and work a little bit better. The key ingredients in this one are the Aikita rice, the Okinawa algae, and the uji green tea."

"I love this so much that this year for all my besties I purchased them all my faves for their birthdays and this was one of the things that was in all my faves category. I love this snail mucin. I know it sounds gross and I am personally disgusted by snails for some reason but then again I have no trouble putting this on my face. It comes out really slimy, it does not smell like anything, it dries really quick and it does so well hydrating my skin. So if I have ever throughout the year overdone it on a products, maybe went a little too hard with my tret, developed periocular dermatitis or any sort of irritation on the skin, I just go back to my trusted snail mucin. I use it twice a day and my skin calms out immediately. If you're super dry, I don't think this alone does amazing at hydrating. I'll go through a couple moisturizers that I love using on top of this in the winter months, but it is so soothing, it calms down my acne, helps with irritation and helps heal my barrier."

All 2 takes on Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
Dermatologist's Skincare Routine: AM & PM Steps for Healthy Skin | Dr. Aleksandra Brown
"I'm hooked on it. This is probably my third bottle, none of it was sent to me, I've actually purchased them all myself. I love it because it will hydrate but not make it too oily for my combination to oily skin. It has no smell whatsoever. Yes, it's slimy a bit, but it really helps repair and regenerate the skin. My acne prone skin is really calm after applying it. It's something that if I'm trying new skincare and develop irritation, I stop everything and just go back to it. My skin heals beautifully. The ingredients in this are 96% snail secretion filtrate, and it also has sodium hyaluronate, which is hyaluronic acid, which will help plump the skin. But you do need to have hydration in your skin, so if you apply your essence first and then this on top, your skin is beautiful and hydrated. You're going to wake up with plump skin the next day."

"I always go in Rhode Glazing Milk. I like to do a pretty generous amount of this because it just soaks right into the skin and gets the skin really dewy and hydrated and glazed. A lot of times when you apply makeup after a while it starts creasing in those little lines, mostly because skin is really dehydrated, so applying hydrating essence or toner is really really nice before applying makeup. Right off the bat I'm loving this."
"The retinoid will help exfoliate those cells. It will help accelerate the cell turnover and therefore it will help open up the blackheads and the white heads. So I love using adapalene 0.1%. I have used different brands and they all do the same thing and they're similar to prescription tretinoin. The key at treating retinoids is to start slow a few nights a week and you want to be consistent. Also, don't just spot treat. If you tend to get these closed comedones on your forehead, apply your retinoid or your adapalene to your entire forehead. If your skin is really, really dry and really sensitive, start with the retinol sandwich method. By applying a layer of moisturizer underneath and on top of your adapalene, you are minimizing the risk of irritation and dryness that you're probably going to develop with consistent use of adapalene. The trick is to start using it maybe two to three nights a week to make sure you don't cause any irritation because if you use it every night, odds are by the third or fourth night that you're going to be dry, peel, irritated."
"Niacinamide is one of my favorite ingredients to see in skincare and honestly it can be mixed in skincare and often is without us even knowing it. While niacinamide can be used both morning and evening, I love it in the evenings, so my recommendation is to apply it in the evening and apply it to clean skin."
"The Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask plumps and softens lips while reducing fine lines and dryness. It helps lock in long-lasting hydration overnight, and it makes your lipstick and tinted balms apply more smoothly. The key ingredients are Japanese peach extract to repair and smooth, squalane for nourishment, and camellia oil for lasting moisture."
"The Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder is a finely milled setting powder that sets makeup while brightening the complexion. You need very little of it. It's super lightweight, silky texture smooths, blurs those imperfections and helps makeup last longer without any cakey or heavy look or feel. The key ingredients are the vitamin C and light reflecting pigments."
"The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is a cult favorite known for its long-lasting, high-performance formula. It gives you up to 16-hour wear and keeps your makeup locked in place for up to 16 hours without smudging, fading, or settling into fine lines. If you are applying makeup and you want it to last all night, this is your product because those little creases will not be filled with makeup. It will stay on even in the most humid weather, even if you're sweating or if it's raining. Yet it doesn't feel heavy, it's really lightweight and very breathable. I think it's suitable for all skin types; it'll work well on oily, combination, dry, and sensitive skin. It's also transfer-resistant, so if you're going to hug somebody and you're worried about your makeup getting on their clothing, this will help with that."
"If you're seeing lines on the forehead, which I see that very commonly in the 30s, Botox will fix that. Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Xeomin, Juvéderm, those are called neuromodulators. They paralyze the muscle, and yes, you have less movement, but it can be done very naturally so the lines don't get deeper."

"My number one recommendation here is the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. It provides long lasting hydration with a concentrated non-greasy formula. It will soothe and repair dry, cracked hands instantly, even with just a small amount of product. It spreads really nice. It's clinically proven to improve the look and feel of dry hands after just one application. Some of the key ingredients here are things like glycerin, which acts as a humectant, so it will draw the moisture into the skin and lock it in, leaving the hands feeling soft and smooth. It also contains vitamin B5, which will help soothe irritation and support the skin barrier for long lasting protection."
