★ Best iconic beauty product
No. 5
Chanel No. 5

Chanel No. 5 is one of the most iconic beauty products of all time.
★ Best affordable acid toner
Glow Tonic
Pixi Glow Tonic
Brought up 3 times
When I first saw Pixi Glow Tonic at a blogger event, I looked at the ingredients list and blogged about it that evening. Then basically I shut down the whole operation for about two months because the demand went through the roof.
★ Best body moisturizer
Creme de Corps Body Lotion
Kiehl's Creme de Corps Body Lotion
Brought up 2 times
I've always in my bathroom for the last 10 years had the Kiehl's body moisturizer. I've never, I can't remember the last time I didn't have one in my bathroom genuinely. It's my favorite because with my face, my body, I'm the same. I just couldn't go without moisturizing from head to toe. It's a real staple that's always been there. If I don't have body moisturizer I'm not getting dressed.

I'll test most things on my hand first now. I did that with the new Ordinary Retinol, but it's so yellow. There's yellow and then there's this yellow. It's like my book yellow and staining yellow. It's 0.2%, so it's like the equivalent of medicates' Crystal Retinal 20. Yes, it's cheaper, yes by all means try it, but if you're going to go down that road why don't you get a slightly even more sophisticated product and do a dermatologist or a skincare professional and get a prescription?

"My mom and my aunt bought me the Clinique Three-Step System and taught me how to cleanse, tone, and moisturize. It was brilliant marketing from Estée Lauder, really worked well. I mean, it's not entirely true, but I suspect it was probably not as bad for my skin as some of the stuff they sell to teenagers now. It was soft enough for my skin, so I kept up with that. Depending on which clarifying lotion they gave you, clarifying lotion number one, fine, clarifying lotion three and four."

"One thing I do do religiously that's not very me is I am devoted to my ZIIP Halo 2.0. I have been doing this for six, six, seven months. I love it. I use it like four times a week, [...] with caveats. I know loads of people work with them, I do not, they have approached me about it and I have said no, and even though I love it so much, the reason I have said no is I don't buy the long-term claims of any nanocurrent electric current device. However, if you want to look better today, you will look better today for the whole day. I can look at pictures and I know if I've done it that day or not. So yes, I absolutely love it. They sent me one, I lost it, I thought I'd left it in a hotel, I bought myself another one, then I found the original like six weeks later, so now I've got two, so I do them simultaneously to save time. [...] I do it before cleansing in the morning, so I do it on a dirty face, [...] not that it's dirty, but because the gel [...] comes off anyway."

It smells lovely and it works a treat. The London water is hard as a brick so you have to go in with something that's a bit more detangling. "So we actually launched it with the complexion clarifying accelerator. This was the accelerator, so you have a kit and you have the serum and then you have another product which is an accelerator which, you know, it kind of accelerates that process of fading high pigmentation marks, sun damage, and retexturizing the skin as well. Now this has a fantastic brightness that works on melasma, and there's a lot of clinical studies supporting these actives. Nothing is just taken off the shelf in that sense. A lot of research has gone into which ingredients we've selected in these products, and it is a sort of enzyme acid blend that is beautiful that works fantastically overnight to resurface, retexturize, and fade dark marks. Once you pair the two together, double whammy."

"This is now discontinued. I always had it to hand because it had a beautiful mister and it didn't sting at all. The reason I use this is when I'm testing retinoids because when you put hyaluronic acid onto sensitized skin it can sting or burn, but this doesn't sting because it's glycerin based with no hyaluronic acid."

"I would have looked at the brush on the Jones Road mascara and thought I'm not going to like that, but it's actually a brilliant mascara. My only complaint is that it dries out quite quickly, but it gives you lashes and it holds the curl, which is really hard in something that isn't waterproof. I highly recommend it, I will be repurchasing, and I've already bought another one."

"I love Lisa Eldridge eyeliners. For me, the number one rule is creamy. There's so many that get stuck on your eyelid, and you're like, it's like I know there was a crease there. "My favorite is L'Oreal waterproof mascaras, carbon black and the telescopic waterproof have never failed me ever. I go through tubes upon tubes of them. I do [...] one coat of waterproof to hold the curl. If you apply too much mascara though and it's really wet, the curl will drop, so you do have to really wipe it off. We'd mix it with eyeshadow because you couldn't really get glossy makeup products the way you can now. There wasn't a whole lot of different highlighters you could go for, so we would tap Eight Hour Cream along the cheekbones. Looking back now, it's funny how limited it was, but we made it work. It's not something that you need if you're young, but if you are 35ish, 40, probably plus, certainly 50 plus, and certainly nearly 55 and a Nana plus, you will see the benefit of this. I kind of use this as a hybrid between a treatment and a moisturizer, so I will do my face, do a serum, maybe I'll put this on, and then I'll put a moisturizer on top because I'm greedy. I love it. Our moisturizer I always literally always use fragrance-free when I'm not traveling because I am the guinea pig and I do sensitize my skin. I take one for the team. I generally use fragrance-free because then I'm not going to do any further aggravation. But it is my favorite moisturizer of all time. That's why we made it. My most used product. I'm not even embarrassed by it. The whole componentry of this product is recyclable. If we were to make it refillable, we would bring in a whole other piece of plastic. At the moment, that means you're using fresh plastic, and I don't want to do that. So for the moment, the moisturizer is not refillable."

"The Cream Cleanser is the one that I made for me of which I have four and a jumbo. Cream Cleanser is for you if you have a balanced skin, if you have slightly drier skin, if you're more dehydrated. With all cleansing products, unless it's really stripping, unless it's something super foaming, super soap based, cleansing really comes down to texture preference in the end. If you like the feel of it, use it. Cleansers aren't on your skin long enough to damage the barrier unless you are someone my age using something for my son's age. "Such a beautiful serum, it is incredibly calming and soothing, it is plumping, it is intensely hydrating, and over time it just helps sort of rebalance and you notice a difference in your skin and how sort of resilient it feels to actives. It's quite juicy, a nice juicy serum, it is very hydrating, and if you've burnt your skin I've even applied it to that. The amount of tests I've done is madness but it will not sting, even when water stings your face. A lot of work went into that bottle, research that I did years ago when I was in Japan working on topical skin treatments, and I have to put it in there because you'll see the results, it's so amazing. "What I like about this one is it's a water-based serum, [...] so it goes into the skin quickly and if you have oily skin absolutely not a problem. [...] It doesn't kind of weigh your skin down so you can keep adding on the other stuff. [...] It's basically imperceptible, it disappears, and great for the summer. [...] I have very fair skin so I always get diffuse redness, and it's my go-to. [...] It really helps with my diffuse redness, that's surface redness. I recommend it [...] for all age groups and all skin types. It was originally formulated for my daughter who has oily acne prone skin, but we're finding that a lot of our clients are [...] reaching for it for redness, pore size, and because they've heard of niacinamide and want to try it. I'd put it at the beginning of the routine [...] simply because it's a water-based serum. [...] If you put it on after your moisturizer it's just not going to get in as easily."

If you love the benefits of retinol and you love the benefits of vitamin C but you've got more delicate skin, it's got three key ingredients: upcycled cranberry extract which helps with skin turnover and collagen synthesis, sea fennel which is super soothing, and Hadasei-3 which is green tea, rice and seaweed that's fermented twice. "I have a huge amount of love and respect for Clarins. If you've been following me for more than a day you will know that I have a long history with this brilliant French brand. I first used them in my 20s, I worked for them in my 30s, and now I'm telling you about their brilliant new version of the iconic Double Serum. Unbelievably now in its ninth generation and undoubtedly regaining its cult status, it is quite frankly a sensational upgrade rooted firmly in the performance Clarins is known for. Double Serum now targets signs of aging linked to lifestyle think pollution, blue light, sun damage and UV with five new actives and a potent provinal re extract that tackle this head-on. I love the luxe texture, the elevated peptide in squalane formula and the innovative new dosage pump. Use daily as your treatment step. The results in four weeks are impressive. After five years of research and six patents to reach this version, it's absolutely been worth the wait. The Clarins crown is firm, back in position."

"KJH Hey Shine Highlight in light pink because if you prime the face with highlighter, meaning put highlighters in as many places as you can, that light bounces off of the face so therefore imperfections will become less because you can't see them because the light is bouncing back. And so therefore you need less foundation because of that or less concealer. I can also mix that highlighter with my red lipstick to create a shimmery blush. It runs out a little fast, that's my only caveat about the product, but I love that one."

"My favorite luxury product would probably be the cream bronzer from Chanel. I do love a cream bronzer from Chanel, and there's something about Chanel like it's never going to be bettered in terms of packaging. It's the best packaging in the world, it's the best marketing in the world. Everything about it is just, even to this day, even though I've been to the labs, I've seen behind the velvet curtain, like I know what's going on, there's something about it and the heavy weight that sort of thing."

If you are an influencer and you live in California and you have billowing curtains coming in from the Pacific Ocean, by all means knock yourself out and film yourself putting this on your legs. Again, I'm not wasting it on my tree trunks. This is tits and above all the body creams I've shown you so far. I love this, very rich. It does rub in well, but there will be more of like a glow residue left. So if you like something that dries really quickly, go with U Beauty. It's hydrating, you can use it under makeup—all of the usual criteria that I want from an eye cream—but it also has light reflective properties. "One product that I was maybe a little bit nervous about but it stood the test of time and I'm really proud of it is our concealer, and only because complexion is difficult and I poured my heart and soul into it. It's really pigmented and it's not too glowy. I was quite specific about this because I think that hydration is amazing, everyone wants hydration, but in a concealer too much hydration and too much of that glossiness means it disappears or settles really quickly. The feedback from all of our customers with all different skin types is that it does not move but it feels very comfortable on the skin."

"This has been a one-stop shop for me. If I'm traveling, if I'm going on an airplane and I don't want to take a big tub of my moisturizer, this can be used all over the face. I love that it says what it does: real eye cream for face, concentrated eye cream for the whole face. I don't tend to go heavy on the demands of an eye cream. I want it to moisturize, I want it to be light reflective if possible, I want my fine lines and wrinkles to calm down. AHC is also affordable, nice, and available like Boots, Amazon.
