★ Best mascara
MakeWaves Mascara
Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara
Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara, totally grail. I'm wearing it today and it just, straight out of the tube, gives you pow. It's amazing, it's good out of the tube, and I hate when something has to be pumped. It's not a tubing one, which matters to me because I can't do tubing mascaras, they don't do anything.
★ Best luxury cream bronzer
Cream Bronzer
Chanel Cream Bronzer
My favorite luxury product would probably be the cream bronzer from Chanel. I do love a cream bronzer from Chanel, and there's something about Chanel like it's never going to be bettered in terms of packaging. It's the best packaging in the world, it's the best marketing in the world, everything about it is just perfect, and even to this day, even though I've been to the labs and I've seen behind the velvet curtain and I know what's going on there, there's something about it and the heavyweight that just gets me.
★ Best bridal concealer
Born This Way Concealer
Too Faced Born This Way Concealer
Born This Way concealer from Too Faced because it is so malleable you can shear it out beautifully when you mix in your own like other emollients. It's honestly great on mature skin if you're in the right hands with the right touch, mature skin loves it. It's one of the only products on the market that you can apply over a powdered face and do touch-ups, so for bridal it's truly iconic.
★ Best pot concealer
Soft Matte Complete Concealer
Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer
I'd go concealer. I'd go NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer, it's in a little jar. Controversial take: I think that's better than the Creamy Concealer. Creamy Concealer is the dog's to everyone, but the one in the pot is so much more superior. You just take a tiny little bit, dab it on a brush, and it looks amazing.
★ Best lip liner
Artist Color Pencil
Makeup Forever Artist Color Pencil
The Make Up For Ever Artist Color Pencil in Endless Cacao lip liner is obviously on my personal list. It's so synonymous with me that they may as well just give me the commission -- they should just call it Katy.
★ Best affordable acid toner
Glow Tonic
Pixi Glow Tonic
I had made glow tonic and the whole blow up and they openly said you know that was all one post I did on the blog which was this is a dupe for P50 back in the days when you would say that I was very clear that it wasn't an actual dupe right it's the closest you're going to get at that price 16 on an acid do this one rather than $95.

"If I'm doing somebody's skin from scratch, probably more on an editorial shoot versus like a celebrity job, I would do Bioderma Sensibio H2O. I'd pass it with the Bioderma on a cotton round. I would put a little bit more pressure in the areas on the face where makeup tends to cling, down the side of the nose, forehead, any little crevices. Then I would mist wipe any excess away."

"French Pharmacy Brands were not a thing over here, you just couldn't get them, you had to go to a French Pharmacy. Things like Bioderma micellar water were products that they used backstage that models had access to, and these amazing sort of French skincare routines. It's really funny that these brands are now mainstream."

"I was leaving remnants of my makeup on even when I thought I've taken it all off, even though I've double cleansed twice. The micellar water, it's the Bioderma one that I use, takes off the remnants so that my skin is squeaky clean in order to be able to then put on moisturizer."

I did purchase at boots though because I ran out of the theater and they don't have bar soap at the theater. CeraVe has a nice foaming facial cleanser. Yeah I love it. I fell in love with the body. The reason I've used these the most is because with Then I Met You I can use these to remove makeup and SPF but I can also use them as a skin cleanser, so if I'm traveling I can use these as a one-stop shop if I want to."

"This is Skin Rocks Cream Cleanser, fantastic for both stages, first cleanse, double cleanse, morning cleanse, great for traveling, whatever you want to do. Won't leave the skin tight and dry and suitable for all skins. We do this in fragranced and unfragranced. I've used the fragrance-free more, I've dipped into that more in recent months because I've been doing a lot of retinoids with it being winter."

"I think that there was a bit of a gap in the market when it came to what people want to look like. I think that you're either told that you want to be a clean girl and you want to wear three products and no more, or you're a makeup wearer and you've got a makeup bag full of stuff and it's a full face every day with full coverage. I think that we sit right in the middle of that, but most people do. Our products lean either way, and that makes me really excited. Someone messaged me the other day saying thank you so much for showing me how to pair all the different parts of me together and feel really good about it. You can kind of choose who you want to be that day. Our products are flexible, they can be sheared out so much for that clean girl look or they can be built right up for the kind of more full makeup wearer."

I think Selena's done a really great job, and actually she's one of the brands that doesn't come under one of these buckets, I think they've actually kind of got it all. It's a great soul, it's great purpose, and it's basically wanting to make your customers feel great. I don't think you need to do it every night like everyone's doing. You're really greasy. Frankly, you don't need Vaseline. It makes your hair stronger and shinier instantly and over time, but without the white cast that heavy squalene can leave. "It is incredibly calming and soothing, it is plumping, it is intensely hydrating, and over time it just helps sort of rebalance and you notice a difference in your skin and how resilient it feels to actives. It's a nice juicy serum, very hydrating. If you've burnt your skin, I've even applied it to that. It will not sting, even when water stings your face. When you're sunburned, if water stings your face you can't put a moisturizer on until at least 15-20 minutes later because it stings. If you've done a chemical peel and your skin is peeling, water stings. This product won't. I've had so many people come back to me and say, 'Everything stings my face, this is the first product that doesn't.'"

"What I like about this one is it's a water-based serum, so it goes into the skin quickly and if you have oily skin absolutely not a problem. It doesn't kind of weigh your skin down so you can keep adding on the other stuff. It's basically imperceptible, it disappears, and great for the summer. I have very fair skin so I always get diffuse redness, and it's my go-to. It really helps with my diffuse redness, that's surface redness. I recommend it for all age groups and all skin types. It was originally formulated for my daughter who has oily acne prone skin, but we're finding that a lot of our clients are reaching for it for redness, pore size, and because they've heard of niacinamide and want to try it. I'd put it at the beginning of the routine simply because it's a water-based serum. If you put it on after your moisturizer it's just not going to get in as easily."

"I have a huge amount of love and respect for Clarins. I have a long history with this brilliant French brand. I first used them in my 20s, I worked for them in my 30s, and now I'm telling you about their brilliant new version of the iconic Double Serum, unbelievably now in its ninth generation and undoubtedly regaining its cult status. It is quite frankly a sensational upgrade rooted firmly in the performance Clarins is known for. Double Serum now targets signs of aging linked to lifestyle, think pollution, blue light, sun damage, and UV, with five new actives and a potent provinal re extract that tackle this head-on. I love the luxe texture, the elevated peptide in squalane formula, and the innovative new dosage pump. Use daily as your treatment step. The results in four weeks are impressive. After 5 years of research and six patents to reach this version, it's absolutely been worth the wait."

"My favorite is L'Oreal waterproof mascaras, carbon black and the telescopic waterproof have never failed me ever. I go through tubes upon tubes of them. I do one coat of waterproof to hold the curl. If you apply too much mascara though and it's really wet, the curl will drop, so you do have to really wipe it off. I let that dry and then I'll follow with a stage two mascara, which is usually a non-waterproof mascara."

It's the best packaging in the world, it's the best marketing in the world, everything about it is just perfect, and even to this day, even though I've been to the labs and I've seen behind the velvet curtain and I know what's going on there, there's something about it and the heavyweight that just gets me."

"If I was to go for a blush, it would be Rare Beauty. Not the liquid one, the one in the really bright pan. It's got a spongy texture, kind of creamy, really pigmented. You build it up. It lasts. It'll give you a blurred finish as well. You can't go wrong with it. Well, you can go wrong with it if you put on too much. Even me with my blush blindness, I'm like, this is too much. You look like you've just literally laid down in red paint."

"Necessary Body Serum. It's quite light, very light, very airy. There's nothing I hate more than putting on a body cream and then your clothes feel sticky. I don't have that problem with this."

"I have a Skin Rocks Retinoid 2 which is my retinoid of choice. Retinoid 2 is 0.5% with boosters which makes it around 0.6%. We don't use any retinol in our retinoid product. Retinoid 2 is for you if you are a hardcore user or you want maintenance or you've got problem skin, breakouts, acne, you would use Retinoid 2."

"My relationship with Chanel No. 5 is very personal. It's basically the longest relationship of my life to be honest. I had to write a love letter to Chanel No. 5 for a piece I wrote for Stylist, and it was about why Chanel No. 5 is so great. It meant a lot to me, and I would have been really upset if somebody else had done it. It won, so yeah that meant a lot to me."

"I remember the last whiff of perfume as she went left the house. It was Winter's morning and I was going to school and she left the house with a waft of generally Chanel No. 5. I'd go, oh Mom's going to work, I'll go to school, everything's fine with the world."
