I just saw a Neosporin allergy the other day post-surgically on someone that was putting it on their knee surgery scar and got a big nasty rash from the Neosporin. So, use Vaseline instead. If you have dry, chapped lips, go ahead and use it there. If you have chafed skin in the skin folds, say in the groin, the armpits, especially with activity, go ahead and use it there. If you just need a nice barrier to protect sensitive areas, like say your eyelids, when you're applying your retinoid, sometimes really strong retinoids can diffuse towards your eyelids, use it to protect those areas.”

“I'm a huge fan of Aquaphor. I like using it on my lips, on my elbows, on my cracked heels, for any cuts and scrapes. It's just a really great multi-purpose protectant bomb, and it has mainly petrolatum but some formulations of it also have glycerin and babol and panthenol, which all help to kind of soothe the skin and really protect that skin barrier. I would definitely say cleanse, then do salicylic acid pads, then maybe use a very light moisturizer or oil, and then I would do the Aquaphor as the final step.”
